Yes, it's interesting.

I do wonder now whether there are any rules in astrology when it comes to interpreting whether there is a deep soul connection or not.

Perhaps each case, each couple's chart is entirely unique with no rules to follow.

yet i KNEW when i met him we would be together, and i was right, and i don't regret a minute because there was an awful lot of love along with everything else.

i know someone else whose chart mixed with mine says - CAUTION - and yet i know what i know...and caution is the last thing i need there!

This was Lara's comment. I can understand a bit better why my analysis could be deemed "uncompassionate", but I really don't see how this statement could be legitimately criticized in that way. She says, "I have to admit"--it's like she WISHES this synastry didn't look uninspiring.

It seems like you're equating "compassionate" with "thinking the synastry looks good."

If you feel close to this Virgo in your heart thats all that really matters, none of use really know the dynamics of your connection but we like to give deeper insight by telling what we see of the synastry or how the synastry might play.

All in all there are no garantees in life or love<3

The Moon in the 4th house looks comforting as well as the AC, Karma, Juno in the 7th house. Im not really good at synastry but other people's planets falling into my angular houses make me feel very comfortable, almost like a very good friend.

I`m not completely convinced you can determine twinselves astrologically.
Probably it is not even that importnat. What is important is what you feel and that you are happy with each other.

Anyway, hypothetically speaking for soulmates / members of a soulgroup/ people who affect us on a deep emotional level, I`d like to see some of the following:

- personal planets in 4th, 8th and 12th houses
- conjunctions or oppositions (also antiscia / contrascia) to IC
- ruler of 4th, 8th, 12th house in conjunction / opposition / antiscion / contrascion to Sun, Moon, ASC/DSC, IC/MC, True Node, maybe also Saturn, Neptune and Pluto or to the rulers of 4th, 8th, 12th or 1st house.
- conjunctons / oppositions of Sun, Moon, ASC, IC, True Node, Saturn and chartruler to Moon, Neptune or Pluto

° those would indicate a connection on a soullevel, but not necessarily romantic

You mentioned Twinselves, I believe a man, who is your other half, and complements you naturally?

I`d look for:

° complementary natal aspects:
Example:
He: Sun conjunct Pluto
You: Moon in Scorpio

(both of your woud be Plutonic in regard to the complimentary couple Sun and Moon)

° synastry aspects (especially conjunction and Opposition, antiscion and contrascion) of complementary pairs, like for example:
- Sun-Moon
Venus-Mars
ASC-DESC
rulr of 1 - ruler of 7

° complementary bridge aspects for example:
His Moon conjuncts your Saturn
Your Sun conjuncts his Saturn

- this is an indirect link of Sun and Moon through Saturn

° if you like asteroids:
Mars - Venus/ Aphrodite
Eros/Cupido/Amor - Psyche
Jupiter - Juno
Zeus - Hera
Pluto - Persephone / Proserpina
Osiris - Isis
etc.

If we are talking about Twinsouls as being of the same energy (not complimentary but the same), I`d look out for all these things but in regard to the same planets
for example:
natally he has Mars in Pisces, and you have Mars conjunct Neptune.
Or in synastry you would have a Moon-Moon aspect or Venus-vensu aspect

Probably those connections could also appear from the draco charts to the tropical chart.

But keep in mind all of this is just hypothetically speaking.

a.) isn't always a romantic partner
b.) isn't always a good romantic partner

I had a relationship with a man who was born 3.5 days after me in the same year, and we have EVERYTHING conjunct from Mercury down, his Pisces Moon conjunct both of our Venus', and virtually every asteroid under the sun 0 orb. Astrologically, he's the closest thing to an actual, literal soul twin I've ever encountered. We were together for a long time and it was generally grand and all, but HOLY WOW SOUL SUCK. I literally had to move out of state to disengage myself from him - we were completely running each other into the ground, but couldn't stay away. He's married now and seems happier and more stable than he ever was with me.
