True. Better to be honest about it than lie and cheat, though.

At least he's being honest with YOU (or it sounds like it anyway)....

With good reason (not literally, but)...he is really wronging, betraying, lying to, manipulating, and shaming her, which is enormously cruel and wrong just on human terms. If he doesn't care for her enough to be faithful and honest, or even just honest, he should let her go.

I guess that it's often so easy to simply generalize human behavior in the name of being "realistic", yet isn't it a bit pessimistic or even lazy (just finding generalizations as excuses)? ^_~; People can be monogamous or polygamous, it just depends on each person. Besides, there are scientific reasons behind monogamy too. The most obvious one is that the couple could raise their children better, with more resources (it's easier to raise the children together than alone). Also, if both sides doesn't have any more partners, they could center their attention/resources to their children only.
