"If any native commits suicide, the next incarnation gives even tougher lessons.
That is the best incentive to avoid taking your own life. "

There is nothing more inhuman than to thread people like they're weak. Typical for our society to scare them off with this kind of words rather than take responsibility by REAL attention/listening & trying to understand.

There is NO next incarnation (yust as sure as you are if it isn't more).

"If any native commits suicide, the next incarnation gives even tougher lessons.

"Suicide is against Divine Law, and Divine Law transcends religious dictums."

i disagree.

in what i understand about the bushido, the "religion" or code of conduct of the samourais suicide is favored in some situations in life.

but to be fair, in bushido, death is a process which require strengh and an absence of fear. the reason for suicide is not based on escapism but on courage.

in fact, the idea behind bushido is to be ready to face death perpetually.

let it be clear that im not encouraging anyone to commit suicide. it's just that i've already thought about death knowing the feeling to want to end one's life very well. (and not talking about it) and there is wisdom and courage in this mode of thinking.

The world is crazy. Where are we going? None of us knows.

Maybe let us know what is wrong? Maybe we might - just might - be able to help. (LL help tends to be very good, I've found, and better than counselling).

For the record, I don't know what the hell I am going to do unless I make a success of self-employment (I'd need a miracle to come out of nowhere). I don't even know if my living situation is secure (I have had to move 4x in this past year), I have no real source of income and would be unlikely to get benefits, and even if I did get a job it would not be worth doing as after tax, money, food, rent and travel it would not cover my bills. Plus the fact that all the jobs around seem to be NON-JOBS!!!!! (and everyone knows what I mean by that one).
Added to that I do not speak to my mother because she is the most poisonous person imaginable. I do speak to my father (thank God). I am an only child with no real contacts with family (my mother's behaviour has by and large made sure of that, on both sides of the family), and I need to be able to support myself, because my parents will not be around forever and they are unlikely to leave me anything in their wills. I also have a boyfriend who is rather a joker and whose behaviour I am fed up with, and am wondering if it is worth putting up with. On top of all that I think I have pain from fibroids.

I have had quite a difficult life and like you, Sweeter, have felt suicidal at times. I have found hypnotist Barrie Konicov's tapes to be effective at calming me and dissipating negative thoughts, at least for a time. I would say it is really important in life to enjoy the good parts when they come around - they are relatively few and far between (which is normal), and even the "good eggs" who seem to have a wonderfully "normal" life - I can't believe that they don't have their share of problems. I do believe that they are able to put up with things that more sensitive people probably aren't. Then again, I have a feeling that they may well have a rather vacant aura. As in, inoffensive, but vacant - there's really nothing there, which is why people don't feel threatened, and vote them in as president or whatever.

For me, I'm just content to live with my "threatening" aura as I know I can't change myself and there is no point trying, and anyone who criticizes me knows where the door is. I also think a lot of people seem to be going through their own hells right now, and there's always someone worse off than you. For example, a brother of one of my friends was made bankrupt twice, lost his house, split up with his wife (although they reconciled - they have 4 kids together), developed a drink problem (as did his wife) and has now been diagnosed with advanced leukaemia (after a misdiagnosis of a blood sample 6 months ago). That's kind of enough to make me not want to commit suicide, compared to this person (and many others) I am lucky.

I do admit the world seems to be all wrong. But it will never be the way we want it, it will never sit down and say it's going to do everything right just for us. We just have to muddle through. Heck, even these stars with millions of dollars don't seem to have it all. Look at Robbie Williams - he has 80 million and he's still miserable!! All they think about is where they can get their next fix of plastic surgery, drugs, whatever. They're surrounded by bodyguards and all these bods determining their career. It's miserable, I wouldn't want it.

Like I said, let us know what's giving you grief - is it financial, legal, domestic, illness-related? This is a very tough time, 3 eclipses in a row is a lot for anyone to handle and has shaken up a lot of people's lives.

Love,

Lyra

Sweeter_Than_Apple_Pie, please reply. I'm worried about you but in response to your question, no you will not. You have free will and it is important to believe in your own power and strength. Best wishes!

She is very much alive. The very act of reaching out here prevents suicide. Thats all thats needed, one talk with anyone, just about anyone helps tide over the "dark period" and life is not lost.
She will be fine after the eclipses, and all the comforting posts by other knowflakes can drag anyone out of the worst of moods.

Please tell me you'll fight this fight
I can't see without your light
I need you to breathe into my life
Don't tell me this is goodbye
I won't grieve - it's not yet time
Each breath breathed is keeping hope alive

So keep breathing
Go on breathe in
Keep on breathing
Go on breathe in
Just breathe

Each breath breathed means we're alive
And life means that we can find
The reasons to keep on getting by
And if reasons we can't find
We'll make up some to get by
'Til breath by breath we'll leave this behind

All you have to do is breathe

STAP - a lot of people care around here. I hope you're feeling better. Did you actually mean you were feeling suicidal?

Please take the loving advice of knowflakes, then...

**diet
**medication
**counselling
**calling a friend

whatever works for you to get you out of this hole.

If it makes you feel any better, most people are struggling to do the best they can, too.....

hear hear IQ.

Sweeter than APPLE PIE - you are intense and you are woman. INTENSE WOMEN feel DEEPLY and sometimes EXTREMELY.

Relac, chill and tell yourself how wonderful you are. We ALL love you so just vent on here. We won't hurt you nor judge you xxx

Mir, I don't think IQ was threading Sweeter as if she were weak. He was giving his view from his perspective (which happens to be mine as well), but not denigrating her thoughts. He was definitely trying to be helpful. IQ comes from a place of compassion.

And when you get to the Other Side, Mir, you might have a few surprises in store for you. Brace yourself.

I'm a compassionate person, but whether this is the classic cry-for-help or a legitimate issue, this type of thread is entirely inappropriate.
