What in a chart would point to someone being Narcissist?

I would think its disharmonious aspects involving Mercury, Sun, Moon, and Mars?

I know someone who is borderline Narcissitic, Sadist and Masochist (not the sexual type of those) and wanted to know what in a chart would point to this.

------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚ (Mutual reception with Moon)
And yes, i'm a guy!

I'm self-centered and narcissist, but at the same time I do assume that I have insecurities yet I'm not selfish (sometimes I can be, but I do consider other people first in most of the times). Guess it's due to my Pisces DC, that often worries about not being selfish. Virgo AC wouldn't allow myself to have any unaware negative traits.

I have Sun and Moon/Venus/Mercury/BML conjunction in Aries/8th house - through others (8th house) I try to find my own sense of identity (Aries).

Sun square Neptune in Capricorn - I'm insecure with my own sense of identity, and I avoid any conflict with others (probably 'till someone crosses the line).

But well, I guess that despite my insecurities, my narcissism still comes from the love I have for myself. I like how I am and my own uniqueness, and I like taking care of myself, enjoy the things I like and have my alone time. X3

Thanks for that link Cynnared! Checking it out now.

Comica, I have Virgo Asc 6* and Pisces Dsc too. I am not narcissistic though. And I do LOVE my alone time.

comica,

I don't think that you're a narcissist. just human.

HUGS

here is stuff on Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders. Personality disorders are conditions in which people have traits that cause them to feel and behave in socially distressing ways, limiting their ability to function in relationships and in other areas of their life, such as work or school. In particular, narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, in the same category as histrionic, antisocial and borderline personality disorders. Narcissistic personality disorder treatment is centered around psychotherapy.

I also want to point out that Avoidant Personality Disorder also entails being hypersensitive to criticism too. Therefore, care needs to be taken to not mistake Avoidant types for Narcissistic types. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avoidant_personality_disorder http://www.avoidantpersonality.com/ http://www.minddisorders.com/A-Br/Avoidant-personality-disorder.html

also Aspergers Syndrome can be misdiagnosed as Narcissistic Personality Disorder and vice versa http://personalitydisorders.suite101.com/article.cfm/misdiagnosing_asperger http://knol.google.com/k/sam-vaknin/misdiagnosing-aspergers-disorder-as/2ji9lwjy5dg4e /63# http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/ 02/22/BALHV6GDV.DTL&hw=henry+lee+reiser+narcissistic&sn=005&sc=180

here is an Aspergers site where Aspergers are discussing Narcissism http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt3626.html

That's why it's important to leave a trained psychiatrist, psychologist to diagnose mental disorders with psychological and neurological testing.

also...the aspects in people with psychiatric disorders like mental illnesses and personality disorders are also found in people with neurological/learning differences. That's is something to consider when examining charts.

It gets more complicated because there tends to be significant comorbidity of psychiatric disorders and neurological/learning differences.

therefore, I don't think that there are any definite astrological indicators for personality disorders like narcissistic personality disorder.

so I have some skepticism when it comes to Astro-Psychiatry.

This has already been demonstrated by comica saying something about her placements, and GotGemini saying that he has the same and he can't relate.

that's with any aspect,placement.

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.

In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.

“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”
