Hi

I've got Mars in Scorpio in 1st.

I used to say that I can never get something unless I am obsessed with it. It's true, and I don't particularly want something unless I am obsessed with it. That's why I view obsession, generally, as a very powerful tool in my life. Also, My Mars in NOT afflicted but instead it is highly dignified, so I have not used my deep desires in an unhealthy way which hurts myself and others.

My Mars helps me get things done quicker as it makes me more focused, because when I have my eye on something, I can easily eliminate distractions.

I think Mars is single handedly the most well aspected planet in my chart.

I have Mars in Pisces in the 6th house, trine Jupiter, Pluto, Chiron, with sextiles to Saturn and Neptune.

I usually get what I want to reasoning level headed and emotionally with people, empathizing with their point of view and explaining where I'm coming from and what my intentions are. "Eloquent honesty" is the best way to phrase it.

Mars Scorpio 10th conjunct MC within a degree and Neptune within 3'. This sextiles Pluto in the 8th within minutes. Also an exact Quintile to Venus.

I attract the unavailable. In one way or another. So what I get is complicated. I'm rather complicated and can relate to the obsession that comes with the sign.

starkiss.. yep I know exactly what you are saying!! It's taken a lot of people in my life to tell me that I can't always get what I want I did originally write 'obssessed' and thought.. no I won't put that.. but in fact like Unmoved if I'm not obssessed about soething then I am not particularly interested in it lol
Mars in Scorp is in my 10th and opposes my sun (2), venus (7.5). conjuncts Saturn (in the 9th) (8) and MC (2). Squares AC (2). Haven't had much fun with this placement - very OUCH lol. Makes me wonder if my Saturn cj has helped me with controlling my mars energy.

My Mars is in Aquarius and I'm straight foward and get through by giving "reasons," explaining and analyzing. I don't like mind games whatsoever and prefer things yes/no like someone said, and it does usually work for me... Also, when I am restricted and I find the reasons for it to be unreasonable then I would not listen and go my way...I think Mars in Aquarius makes one independent and gives an "I don't give" attitude.

I have Mars in 0* Virgo in my 12th house out of sign conjunct my 25* Saturn in Leo in the 12th house as well. It also widely conjuncts my 6* Virgo Asc. My Virgo Mars is something that, like Lucia, has been one of the hardest aspects in my chart to relate too. I am tedious about hygiene though.

Please, if anyone wants to check my placements, check my sig. Help me understand lol!

------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚ (Mutual reception with Moon)
And yes, i'm a guy!

So with you on this - do you want to? Or do you not want to? Yes or no. Your choice.

I don't like telling other people what to do nor do I like being told what to do - independence like you said.

Hmmm... interesting, indeed! I'm one of those people who aren't afraid of death. I'm talking about a quick, swift death, or a death for a cause, not a drawn out one through sickness.

I also think that Nordic berserkers were Mars in Scorpio.

Which makes me a good candidate for suicide bombings, come to think of it. I'm sure if I believed in the validity of it, I'd do it, but unfortunately, I haven't been recruited in order to understand how a person could kill oneself like that. I can die for a cause, but I would need to be killed by another, not via suicide for a cause... There's something weird there.

So, in other words, I would do an indirect suicide for country etc. like go to war, but I'd have to reeeeeaaally love my countrymen.

I guess now that I think about it, I do analyze a WHOLE lot about situations and how to get things done. I am a very observant analyzer lol! Wow! This is the first time I could ever relate to my mars! I quietly (12th house) analyze a situation and quietly go about getting it done in the most efficient and practical way. I guess the wide conjunction to my Asc helps too.

Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚ (Mutual reception with Moon)

Oneruledbymars, I can answer your question about Aries Mars. Yes, I am a Aries Mars on the 3rd/ 4th house cusp, and I'm also a Leo Sun with Sagittarius Rising, talk about fire power!

Unfortuntately those Aries Martians born around my time have Mars square Neptune which eqautes to a dilemma between being selfless or selfish. I personally have strived to intergrate selfish reasons to self lessness. For example I want a job to impress people, not for the money, lol! And as weird and delusional as it sounds (I'm also a Pisces mooner) it worked, I suddenly out of the blue was offered two jobs today after a sparse outcome of nothing, so now I must decide on what job to choose, which is the hard part!

I don't agree with this formula of how someone "gets" their desire.

Look at the definition of the word "get". It means to obtain or possess something. Your desire is a form of reward. I think the way the word "get" is being used in this thread to replace the word "manipulate". There are many forms of manipulation ranging from logical persuasion to outright lies and deceitfulness.

This is probably one of the millions of astrological areas where people have different opinions but I look to Pluto and Scorpio for strong manipulative energies. I look to Saturn for strategy which is a strong component of manipulation.

And Jupiter rules reward, a strong componant of desire.

Any aspect of Mars-Neptune will give you the closest thing to irresistable charm and charisma. People with Mars-Neptune aspects can come very close to being actual "spell casters". Yes, Mars is included in that formula, but it's not the only ingredient of how we manipulate in order to "get", receive or obtain our desires.

If it is found to be a huge component in a chart, you also need to look at the house that Mars rules, not just the sign and house that Mars is in.

geo, would you count mars square neptune? i read that in this case mars' energies are diffused and scattered by neptune. i could see either of these being the case with this person.

is it because the focus or the drive is neptunized and therefore attuned and aware of others, and so can use its insight for manipulation, maybe even unconsciously, due to neptune's transpersonal nature- like it just picks up things and mars runs with it? that kinda makes sense to me. but would that be very easy to do with the square, do you think?

Like I said, it doesn't matter which aspect it is, as long as it's Mars and Neptune. I think a good exercise for you would be to clearly define the word "Neptunize". Too often astrologers get into the habit of using astrological jargon to describe events. For example, if you were describing something that is "Neptunized" to someone who doesn't know astrology, what would you say?

In astrology it is the conjunction that suggests focus. The square suggests necessary stress for development. Neptune is the strong planet of the two so it can weaken Mars, but not always, you can't always assume that. They learn to work together. The way I personally understand the charm of the Mars-Neptune aspect is that Mars is a fire and action and sexuality; Neptune is like a Hollywood camera lense with vaseline on it, giving whatever is seen through it a hazy look. Mars smoulders hotly under Neptune's gaze. As an example, think of an underwater volcano. It doesn't shoot flames and sparks but creates a hot glow with the beautiful blue of the ocean around it. You can come up with other analogies if you like, that's my own explaination of it. There's no one concrete answer, there are many ways to describe it.

wow geo, that totally makes sense to me. thanks! my definition of neptunization would be something like: a nebulous cloud which can either seem to glorify what it touches and rouse one to a transcendant state, OR the ominous fog hiding the true essence of the thing and creating mind numbing confusion.
