Robert Hand on astro says:

Moon Square Saturn

The square of Moon and Saturn in a composite chart is an indication that there is a lack of emotional affinity between the two of you. You may be able to work together as business associates on various projects and even be quite friendly. But you are not likely to have the in-depth understanding needed for a deep personal friendship or love relationship.

In a close personal association, this aspect is likely to produce a sense of emotional alienation, as if you cannot quite get into each other. The close warmth and togetherness that is basic to such a relationship is just not there.

An emotional relationship may survive for a long time in spite of this aspect, but it will not be completely satisfying, and you may feel lonely with each other. In addition, the depressive effects of the Moon-Saturn square may cause you to overemphasize the difficulties you actually face.

If you both feel that you need the relationship for personal growth, by all means pursue it. But you should modify your expectations for deep satisfaction on the emotional level.

Cafe Astrology says:

Saturn challenging the Sun and/or Moon is often found in the composite charts of parent and child as well as marriage partners. In the case of parent and child, these aspects are easier to manage, likely due to the nature of the relationship itself. In the composite chart of marriage partners, although this aspect implies a certain amount of responsibility to each other and suggests a relationship that impacts each person powerfully, the relationship may feel like a burden.

My ex husband and i had an venus, mon conj square our saturn in composite.
We have srong tie to each other but sometimes it feels as be in a prison. He was not at all that kind of man who will have control. I get my freedom with responsibility. It was just the feeling of it.

I would steer away from these kind of aspects. Love should set you free not hold you down. burdens eat away subconsciously at people and prompt someone to towards liberation. not very good for something that wants to be everlasting.

Thank you for your input, Popcorn. How long were you and your ex-husband together and is he the father of the daughter you mentioned with the same aspect?

Stars, I was thinking the same thing. Not a fun aspect to have with someone. I don't like the feeling of being "lonely" even when someone is present.

Not everyone is meant to have a relationship that is all sunshine. All meant to learn something.
If you can get past the initial coldness, and/or lack of action at first and be in a relationship, it is capable of holding 2 people together. It is very difficult to form a emotional bond with this, maybe because subconciously we know, there is something very serious about the association, so we hold back fearing.

I think by looking at your chart and studying your venus/DC themes, will help show you if this is a relationship that could be something special. For example, a Capricorn would value a relationship like this...or a Saturn sq. ASC...we are attracted to things that are familiar.

Writesomething, what you said about subconscious rings very true in my situation. Thank you for your wise words. I am posting my and his birth info in Soul Unions with the hope that someone will have the time and inclination to put up the synastry and comp charts and maybe birth charts if necessary. I am Cap moon and AC and like to learn, but learning from a Scorpio in this particular situation is probably a bad idea. I haven't gotten it all figured out yet and appreciate the enlightened input.

My ex and I have this aspect in our Composite. We also have Moon square Uranus.

Right now we're broken up. He says that we're holding out for each other, and sincerely means it. I don't know how I feel about it. There's definitely love/hate in our relationship.

Our Composite Sun, however, is exactly conjunct Venus too so that balances the harsh Moon aspects.

In my situation the moon is conjunct Uranus. Probably similar. My Saturn is on his DC and his Vertex is on my DC so I worry I am getting sucked into something that won't be healthy and I kind of don't care right now... I also started smoking recently after not smoking for 7 years. PLuto in Cap is kicking my AC and lunar azz.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It is helpful to me.

whoa John and Yoko

This is a little intense for me. If you noticed the info in Soul Unions you would have seen that my Scorpio recently lost his sister and drinks a lot. I am worried I am going to be trapped in an unhealthy relationship if I don't run now. And I don't really have the strength to run because the companionship feels so good after such a long time without it. Hmmm...

It is honorable that you left to pursue your heart. It is sad that you still feel so strongly. It is nice and strong of you to still feel so loving towards him. Thank you again for your input!

Hi MM;

I have this with someone, a Scorp sun in fact, and it is the weirdest relationship ever. But it has been going for two years, so theres good stuff too. It's definetely an on/off, love/hate kind of thing. Never felt the 'lonliness' when together feeling as described above though. It's more of a 'this person is drivin me nuts, I can't wait until they go home, but when they leave I wish they were here' feeling. Just plain weird is what it is.
An I feel like I'm doing the mothering.
And he has issues with alcohol. Soooo...I was meant to read your post I guess.

Gypsee, I do have the "alone" feeling some. We just don't talk like other relationships. I thought it was my own reticence and need to keep my distance but when I do try to open up I feel like something unseen is holding me back in a big way. We lay in each others arms but say nothing much of the time and the communication comes in blurts when I force it out. It is really weird. And he was here for almost a week but we were always in separate areas unless we were curled up on the couch watching a movie or napping. There is this intense closeness at times but a distance and I did feel lonely even though he was here so long... which felt really weird. I said some things about him being "distant but still here" and his horoscope on astro did say he was dealing with some difficulties in being close for a few days. I had just thought it was a "man-mood" from getting close and then needing to get some distance. My feelings resonate with your statement about sort of wanting him to go home at times but also missing him when he is not here. Thanks for sharing. ♥

"My ex and I have this aspect in our Composite. We also have Moon square Uranus."

Does that mean that you have a t-square of Moon square Saturn-Uranus opposition?

T-squares that involve a personal planet, luminary in a composite chart can indicate a major challenge in the relationship.

A t-square like that can be very challenging with much nervous tension. It can be about unexpected, sudden restrictions, delays as well as instability that can be limiting

the positives would be structure that can tone down unpredictable stuff. Or liberation from being rigid.

The orbs also factor. the tighter the orb of the of t-square,the stronger it...the more likely it will be challenging

the wider the orb of the t-square, the less likely it will be easier to work with....wide t-squares don't have a powerful effect, and so not that challenging.

In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.

“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”

Popcorn, the first thing I noticed is that your relationship was/is a Taurus Sun. Mine is Scorpio so that gives me some thoughts...

Glaucus, I know you weren't talking to me but I ran off to check my orb anyway and it happens to be 0'56s for the composite moon square Saturn. The Mars conjunct Venus is 1'40a.

We also have an mars square pluto huuu. Saturn trine the sun. Saturn was also in house 7.

When i look at the chart i think its looks like very terrible. My experience of the relationship was not that. We have much wonderful time togheter an he was an wonderful father to his daughter an to my son. My children love him.

I am happy im not looked att composite before i going in to this relationship. I was more happy with my daughters father who i lived togheter whit on long time and i was with my sons father who i lived togheter whit from 15 to 19 years old. I do not have his birthtime only the day.

You awowls have sun conj venus. I think it helps much and give the relationship possibilities to makes deeper. Exactly as my exman an me have moon conj venus which trine pluto and uranus. Dynamic relationship.

Saturn are very powerful in relationship. Mars pluto in square can was the answer on why we could not leave each other. We make love 2 years after divorced. The meeting broke up after 2 year. I was finished.

Popcorn, what do you think the terrible parts are in the synastry and how did they manifest in your relationship?

MM. When i looking at chart in soulunion i can not find strong tie aspekter in synastri with you and the man. But in the synastri i think venus conj saturn are a good one.

I must say your composite with each other are very intresting. I do not think tha saturnus square was not to be afraid of. I think the other aspect could be worth to test.
