I will think it would be a year including some kind of love. Im not good at solar/venus return and i hope you get someone who can get you answer. Im also intrested to know.

what would you class as a venus-y year? I'm not sure what that means!

My venus return was on 19 June (only took three attempts on astro.com to work it out hehe) .. and tMars was conjunct Venus followed closely by the Moon (6-7 degrees away) in the 3rd, tPluto conjunct Neptune in the 11th. Saturn was sitting in my 7th house. Mercury conjunct my natal lunar North Node. The gang of three were hovering closely conjunct 3 degree away from my ASC in the 1st. (they have since gone back over my ASC with Chiron now cj my ASC today ) Uranus in 2nd exact square Sun in 5th - this is my chart ruler exact square my DSC ruler.

I don't remember that day exactly but it was a Friday - a venus-y day - and I was most probably with my boyfriend at the time (we work together too) so probably spent the night at his house oh wait... no .. he wanted the to himself and then the next day didnt want me to see him either (okay it's all coming back now) so I was upset on my Venus return day. He ended up having his ex over instead which made me very upset (he said he wanted time alone, then had her over). Not a nice venus return. I tried to make it nice but didn't work out that way.

The angles are all exactly the same as my natal chart. This must be significant, because it is with SR's.

Venus is in the 8th conjunct sun. It's also my chart ruler.

This was the year I first really fell hard for someone and it really changed how I thought about myself- all the way into how I carried myself, took care of myself, communicated with others. I think that's supported by the 1st house stellium and in particular the fact that Venus is on the ASC, the Sun is in the 1st, and Mercury (maybe the shift in how I was communicating with others, that relationship itself was also very talk-heavy which I think is supported by its super tight conjunction with Venus here too) and Pluto (the change in how I perceived myself, and the fact that its conjunct Venus as well supports that it was a very intense involvement, very intuitive, and to this day has marked me and changed me forever) are are all on the ASC with Venus as well. My appearance also changed a lot that year and I was very confident in that sense.
Jupiter is in a wide conjunction with my return MC- this was also a super social year for me. I threw in Eros into the return chart too because Eros is pretty prominent in my chart (conjunct the Sun) and it makes total sense to me that its conjunct the MC- that year I felt I was actually getting hit on a lot and could tell that I was being perceived more sexually by others - even close friends suddenly saw me more in that light.
The return Saturn is also conjunct (albeit in a wide orb) the vertex- I think this is reflective of a couple of things. Natally, I have Saturn conjunct my Venus and Saturn transits to my Venus have always triggered significant events for me romantically so it makes sense that Saturn is conjunction my vertex for a romantically significant year's Venus Return. I think its also reflective of the fact that this relationship developed really slowly.

Anyway, I'd look for exact conjunctions or oppositions, house positions in Natal and VR, and angular positions. Just like a Solar Return.

I am a sun Taurus .. would that = 2?

Do I add together the numbers of my birthdate as they do in numerology? I actually added them as 1+2 + 5 + 1+9+8+4 etc not 12 + 5 + 1984.

If so, then this year for me is 7. Actually funnily enough I calculated it both ways and ended up with 7 both times! (Maybe this is how it works?! lol)

So, last year was a venus-y year for me.

I'd rather look at Venus in the Solar Return to look at romantic,love,relationship stuff. It seems to have played out for me.

The Solar Return and the Lunar Return are the only Returns that I look at for forecasts. I am a strong believer in those charts, seeing how they have really played out my life.

like when I got dumped by my exgf
the solar return chart that I had for the period that she dumped me was a grand cross of Moon in 17'13 Gemini in 12th,Venus in 18'52 Virgo in 4th,Jupiter in 19'03 Sagittarius in 6th,Uranus in 15'03 R Pisces in 10th. I really felt that sucker! It played out in every way possible in negative ways.

The Solar Return before that had Sun-Venus-Mars conjunction in Scorpio in 8th,and that really played out! Intimacy,passion,and "I love you"'s with my exgirlfriend.

My current solar return has Venus in Sagittarius in 4th with no aspects, and it conjunct the Imum Coeli, but no joy

but it conjuncts the asteroid,Moran the last name of the senior minister whose interfaith unity church that I joined the end of May this year. I have Moran stationary direct in my 7th conjunct my descendant in my natal chart. It makes me wonder if I will meet my future wife through the church that I go to.

In my next solar return period which is coming up in 2 months,

Venus is in 17'01 Libra in 11th trine Jupiter in 17'33 Aquarius in 3rd

It looks like love,relationships through friendships, communities in harmony with expansion,optimism in communications.
It looks like positive thinking that can help me in my lovelife this year. It fits with law of attraction, and I already created a vision board of the woman that I want to attract in my life to marry and have children with. It looks like a very beneficial social life that will involving opportunities for romantic relationships. It also can indicate that my love-life can be very beneficial. This configuration could also fit with me finding somebody at church,lecturing,seminar,workshop.
A psychic(at the last healing arts fair that I went to) told me that I am going to meet a woman at some type of lecture too. She actually refused me to pay her because I help my mom out. That was very cool. It's not common to get a free psychic reading. I will have to see if she's right. Only time can tell.

My Natal Uranus in 15'17 Libra conjuncts my Solar Return Venus ,and that can indicate sudden love opportunities

another thing to is that Haumea is prominent in my chart any way. I have Haumea in 11'16 Virgo conjunct/oppose Ascendant/Descendant axis in 13'27 Virgo and square Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis in 11'14 Gemini/Sagittarius. I also have Venus sextile Haumea with 52 minutes of arc in Right Ascension which is equatorial longitude that is the primary coordinate that astronomers use to locate objects.

Aphrodite in 17'46 Gemini R in 8th trines Venus-Haumea in 11th and Jupiter in 3rd.

All trines of the Venus,Jupiter,and Aphrodite Grand Trine are less than 1 degree orb.

some of the most difficult relationships could be reflected by Solar Return Venus in hard aspect to those transneptunians.

It really sucks when you do find that special somebody and then you lose that person the love wasn't strong enough to overcome obstacles and other's negative views. 5th house can mean creativity,self expression,and/or children. It could also be even entertainment and fun.

north node conjunct descendant. That could be associations,connections,meetings with others in general. It could be a partnership,relationship of any kind. It wouldn't necessarily be romantic.

It would be interesting to know what else was in the solar return. There are things that could modify.

of course, it good to compare the natal with the solar return....look for any conjunctions.

the main themes tend to show with the placement/aspects of the Sun,Moon,Ascendant/Descendant axis,and the Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis.
Mercury,Venus,Mars are personal players
the rest are more like background.

Of course, free will is the ultimate too.
