"If it’s not too personal to ask, I seem to recall in another thread that your ex husband was a Capricorn, do you mind me asking if you still care for him?"

It's not too personal.... I 'care' for him in an impersonal way. If it were any deeper, we'd still be married, I can assure you.
I generally never liked Capricorn males to date though. There are some good ones, when they grow and decide to start taking chances, but for the most part I am not really 'compatible' with them, especially with my Aries moon...so I don't really care what all the books say or what Linda said or whatever. That compatibility stuff is just sun signs and it barely scratches the surface.
And my sun is in the 5th, btw.

MVM, I fully understand what you are saying in regard to 'scratching the surface'. I think the 'Love Signs' book by Linda is actually quite informative and witty, it does mention synastry interactions within pairings, especially that of conflicting Rising signs and Luminaries and how these influence the partnership and the dynamics playing out. Lighthearted perhaps but a really worthwhile read. With regard to Capricorn males, they are solid but can be a bit on the conservative side. I don't identify with conventional as I am almost an Aquarius. Virgo Sun and Aries Moon, one indomitable spirit ;-)

Unmoved, just seen your chart on your Solar Return posting and I am surprised how many trines we have between our natals. I imagine you are really sweet person to know and with your Sun in 11th, a bit of a rebel too :-)

Neptuneinfirst, I was raised by Aquas and love them (dating one now actually, he's wonderful)... I don't care much for the typical or the conservative myself lol...maybe my Moon/Uranus opposition in my chart? Any of that conventional white picket fence stuff makes me run for the hills screaming (in fact, come to think of it, I did just that when I married the Cappy LOL)
I wonder, because I think sometimes that I associate more with my Moon and my Venus in Scorpio and less with my sun in love matters.
And I also think a lot of the time we tend to operate from our 7th house cusps in relationships (my ex, btw, had a Virgo 7th house cusp and was every bit the Virgo male about certain things , and it infuriated me LOL)

"Glaucus,
What's Makemake supposed to do/affect exactly?"

Makemake, formally designated (136472) Makemake, is the third-largest known dwarf planet in the Solar System and one of the two largest Kuiper belt objects (KBO) in the classical KBO population.[b] Its diameter is roughly three-quarters that of Pluto.[8] Makemake has no known satellites, which makes it unique among the largest KBOs. Its extremely low average temperature (about 30 K (−243.2 °C)) means its surface is covered with methane, ethane, and possibly nitrogen ices.[9]

Initially known as 2005 FY9 and later given the minor planet number 136472, it was discovered on March 31, 2005, by a team led by Michael Brown, and announced on July 29, 2005. Its name derives from the Rapanui god Makemake. On June 11, 2008, the IAU included Makemake in its list of potential candidates to be given "plutoid" status, a term for dwarf planets beyond the orbit of Neptune that would place the object alongside Pluto, Haumea and Eris. Makemake was formally classified as a plutoid in July 2008. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makemake_(dwarf_planet)

Makemake (also written as Make-make or MakeMake; pronounced en-us-Makemake.ogg [ˈmakeˈmake] (help·info) in Rapanui[1]) in the Rapa Nui mythology of Easter Island, was the creator of humanity, the god of fertility and the chief god of the "Tangata manu" or bird-man cult (this cult succeeded the island's more famous Moai era).

He is a frequent subject of the island's Petroglyphs.

The trans-Neptunian dwarf planet, originally designated 2005 FY9, is named Makemake in an allusion to the shared connection of the dwarf planet and Easter Island with Easter. (The dwarf planet was discovered shortly after Easter 2005; the first European contact with Easter Island was on Easter Sunday 1722.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makemake_(mythology)

The following are keywords from Philip Sedgwick.

Positive: Articulate and ultra-communicative. Self-assuredness, especially by verbal means. Clever, quick-witted and interested in invoking insight and inspiration with speech. Quick to report findings, regardless of impact. Courageous, possessing the willfulness to confront the peril required for discovery or spiritual evolution. Conscious of family security and safety. Protection of the brood.

Negative: Cunning and verbally manipulative. Double talk. Diversion of facts. Declaring false findings (laying an egg, so to speak). Taking flight to avoid consequence. Hiding as a coping skill. Reckless. Disregard for safety of the home. Self-serving.

Mundane: Data collection to support a doctrine or cause. Books, especially those of multi-cultural interest. Translation especially with a cross-cultural theme. Cultural synthesis. Integration of tasks. Computer iterations and/or algorithms. Dissemination of information whether true or false. Split second decisions. Lightning fast assessment. Fertility and fertility procedures. Birds. Fans. Eggs. Creeds. Documents of self declaration - affirmation statements, bios or autobiographies, a feather in one’s cap, selecting a safe location for nesting.

Ceremonial: Incantations. Oral remedies for healing. Meditations to unify the minds of several. Isolation for ceremonial purposes. Shamanic retreat. Cave ceremonies. Ceremonies involving hair cutting. Personal acceptance of one’s cause and karma. Ceremonies involving the use of feathers or eggs (feather fans, Eagle feather cleansing, the egg diagnostics of curanderos and curanderas - common in Ecuador, one of Rapa Nui’s neighbors).

Philip Sedgwick referred to the big transneptunian objects as being evolutionary intensified objects. Evolutionary suggests that emotional and spiritual crisis induced by the presence and passage of these bodies intends to enhance the insight, inspiration, creativity and consciousness of a person on Earth and through events on Earth containing these bodies in significant locations.

“It is absolutely the perfect name,” Dr. Brown said, given the continuing discord among astronomers and the public over whether Pluto should have retained its planetary status.

In mythology, Eris ignited discord that led to the Trojan War.

“She causes strife by causing arguments among men, by making them think their opinions are right and everyone else’s is wrong,” Dr. Brown said. “It really is just perfect.”

Oh la la!

I am glad someone brought this dreadful horoscope. I read my sun (scorpio) and my moon and rising (taurus), my honey's sun and moon (virgo) and his rising sign (capricorn).

Yikes!

I am freaking out more about his forecast than anything else. He does not even care about astrology at all.

I am very concerned about the fact he found the house already but he has not signed the papers yet...and my intuition is telling me that the paper dealings will take place during Mercury retrograde. But oh well, I want to have more faith in hope and optimism than astrology itself.

After all, it is not as if I can just say, "hey hun, why don't you forget about that house until October, there is this thing called Mercury retrograde. Here, let me explain it to you". He will look at me as if I had grown bunny ears.

Funny that he has been telling me that something has to go downhill since everything has been going very well with him in terms of job, house-hunting, etc.

Anyways, I am looking forward to the full moon in Pisces this friday. His b-day is on Labor day and I have a bunch of surprises for him. I am positive that everything will turn out all right with this date.

But, I am wary of September 15, 17, 18, 22 and 23. I am so glad that these days fall on the weekdays instead of the weekend. We tend to spend time on the weekends and if we get to see each other on any of these days, I shall keep in mind to remain calm and in peace.

The good thing....saturn is moving out of virgo pretty soon.
I am excited about this. I have seen the way that saturn and the saturn-uranus opposition has affected the Virgos I know and I can't wait to see their lives returning to normalcy again.

Note to self for the month of September: support your Virgo.

"If your birthday falls at the end of August, then last year - 2008 - was your hard year. If you were born in September, then 2009 was tougher."

That is definitely NOT so in my case (I was born August 29). Last year was so much smoother and easier for me. I am always surprised by the certainty with which some astrologers express things...

I'm probably only sweet to you because I have all those trines with you. The Sun in 11th does make me march to the beat of my very own eccentric drummer. Yes.

Where can I see your chart, neptuneinfirst?

"I am always surprised by the certainty some astrologers express things..."

exactly.....many things in Astrology are relative because there is great deal of diversity and divergent views. Many things in Astrology can be questioned, challenged, and debated.

I do that a lot with mainstream Western Astrology. Imho I think that a lot of its outdated, and many astrologers approach new things in Astrology like many vedic astrologers approach mainstream Western Astrology.

a matter of fact, I am actually going to post about dogmatic vedic astrologer about his views about the use of objects beyond Saturn. He even talks about how mainstream astrologers have the same attitudes about the use of asteroids like he has about outer planets.

It's no wonder I think that Eris could be co-ruler of Astrology because of the "I am right and I am wrong" stuff that tends to go in the astrological community and the diversity that is in the community with so much intolerance of other astrological systems. Steven Forrest even pointed out the Tower of Babel situation that is in the astrological community.

to me, controversial tends to something that is said that others don't like nor agree with because it challenges the status quo or the idea of what is right and wrong and what is true and false.

Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader):
"If you are not with me, you are my enemy"

Obiwan Kenobi
"Only the Sith Speaks in Absolutes"

seems like Eris to me.

Only read S. Miller if i have nothing better to do. She is over dramatic and blows things completely out of proportion. I remember last year i was in love with a total timewaister and she promised a world with all those 'romantic ' 4 star dates in her horoscope. Yeah, right. My heart was completely and utterly smashed into smithereens.

Yeah, I read most and they don't sound too positive. Full Moon in my 6th house and I hit a pedestrian Tuesday! I seriously thought I killed the lady! We rushed her to the ER, thankfully she was fine. The last two days have been pretty rough for me!
