“Even the poorest Leos can afford rings for her fingers and bells for her toes…”

I forgot where I read that but I remembered it because it rang true. Especially now – I am living on someone else’s and borrowed dimes but yesterday I bought two pairs of Converse All Star low tops when I just went in to buy one pair of black to replace my old pair (they were “buy one get one half off”, it would have been criminal for me not to buy a 2nd pair in charcoal gray!)

Okay, when I am not so poor and destitute I usually splurge on:

- some piece of electronic equipment – every year I make one big purchase. This year I decided that I need a new laptop and last year I bought a laser printer to replace the inkjet, the year before a new TV. There are also minor purchases like iPods, cell phones and as I type I am looking at two digital cameras that I rarely use and a webcam but I still haven’t downloaded Skype…

- dining out – this takes most of my money really (see the “What are you eating?” thread)

- clothes and shoes – I am one of those people who finds something that works and buys it in every different color. This is especially true with online shopping – just bought three of the same shirt from Old Navy online. It was a good basic so why not?

- books – I have to stay away from the bargain book section in any book store. There are usually a million “How-to” books to choose from and I end up buying at least 5 at a time. This has resulted in my owning 300+ books that I am now trying to get rid of.

- music – I need to stay off of Amazon. I usually buy the new cds from the other sellers. I need more space on my hard drive because of iTunes, seriously.

- HBA (Health & Beauty Aides to those who have never worked retail!) – Mainly hair supplies, I can’t use the cheap stuff. Sometimes I go to the cosmetic counter and ask for one thing and I am persuaded into buying 3 or 4 other things (sometimes = often). I also have a “stocking up” issue with drugstore supplies, which some would call “hoarding”. Right now I have 4 deodorants, 3 shower gels, 3 bags of cotton balls…you get the picture. It is because of my jobless sitch, if I run out of soap I am screwed so I need this stuff! lol…

So, I have a shopping addiction. SN is in Pisces in my 2nd house, Moon in Libra and Venus in Leo activates all of my angles (conjunct DC orb 1, opp AC, trine MC & IC), what do you expect? lol, indulgence is my middle name!

the more I think about this, the more I feel we should look at Venus. She's all about free indulgence. Mine's in the 9th and I do spend an unreasonalbe amount of money on philosophy books. The older the better,,,

I think I have shopping problem when it comes to consignment shops, thift stores, and antique shops. I have this desire to buy, buy, BUY whenever I see something I find interesting and don't want anyone else to have. My heart flutters whenever I find African and Asian inspired mirrors, masks, and other type of nic-nacs. My apartment looks like a museum. I also indulge by buying interesting beads and etc. for jewelry I make.

I also have love for wine, liquor, good food, and unique pieces of jewelry.

Venus in 9th house
Saturn in 2nd house
I think my Saturn is a singleton in element and I think may be unaspected.

When I lived in Portland Maine for five years, my "extra" money went towards:

-six packs of craft brews (aka, microbrews or ales)
-Good food
a. Organic fruit, vegetables and sometimes even meat (mostly chicken) at the farmers market (miss that like crazy)
-Eating out
a. Indian restaurants (so orgasmic)
b. Flatbread pizza
c. Mexican (all the time, first at a hippy Mexican place, than an ultra cheap burrito shop, where they were under $2 and real good).
-Rarely, but with decent enough frequency to mention, rental movies
-Slowly collecting seasons 2-10 of the Simpsons and 1-5 of Curb your enthusiasm
-Blank cd-rs to burn data disks of the massive amounts of music I "got".
-Vacations abroad
-spices to try my hand at homemade Indian, Brazilian, Mexican and other ethnic foods.

I miss my craft brews and specific good food that can't be found in China, including organic.

Other than that, I saved my money as much as I could, especially for travel. But it was a necessity to have tasty ales to close the week on Thursday/Fridays. Sometimes to the subtle/slight annoyance of my then gf. I just love the taste of a microbrewed ale.

Carl - Scorpio
Moon in aries, in 3
Rising Cap
Venus Sag, in 11
Saturn in Scorpio, in 10
TN Taurus in 4
Desc in Cancer

Trips around the world . A week in Monaco, then in Cannes, Lake Cuomo, Paris, London and back. I dine in the best restaurants and shop for fine fabrics, art, champagne, seafood. I'm driven to the finest trendy boutiques in Paris, London, New York. I'm considering a two month spa trek around the world starting in Maui, a hike in Kauai and then to Japan along with Plein Air painting and cooking classes in Italy and France.

Hey pink duct tape is very 8th house - you can either duct tape people before burial (so they don't struggle), or duct tape people before getting to know them in a biblical sense (so they don't struggle).
It's also very frugal and good utilization of resources , as it has many uses.

Neptune in the 2nd here.
Things that are insubstantial in nature and
anything that helps one transcend this dull reality.

Glitter and alcohol for example.
(to go with the 'hookers and cocaine')

When I indulge it tends to be of good food
sweets in particular, forget about regular chocolate it's got to be serious chocolate like Godiva's or even See's. I have spent a couple hundred dollars mabe more easily in one round at these places. Silly I know some say, but its my thing..I have Jupiter conjunction ascendant, Venus in Virgo(in 3rd house) which is the only earth I have in my chart. My 2nd house ruler is in Leo.

Luxury hair care products, brands like Kerastase and Biolage are my favorite. I gotta, Aries rules the head.

Really expensive key pieces of clothing. For example, a really awesome coat or some boots. Something that will last all my wear and tear.

Underwear from VS. You can never have enough!

Starbucks - venti shaken black tea with 2 splendas instead of classic. Mmmm.

SpooL, I feel ya. I'm a Geek Squad agent, it's what I live for.

Sun - Aries
Moon - Cancer
ASC - Libra
Merc - Aries
Venus - Taurus
Mars - Gem
Jupiter - Leo
