Whenever I have some spare money, I buy things for my kids, like clothes or fun art for their room, or practical things like socks and shirts for my man, or even a tasteful piece of art for the home. Sometimes, I even buy luxery items for myself, like spa treatments or a nice pair of expensive jeans.

I'm a Leo, very much so, and I know we're said to be all about that stuff, so I guess I'm pretty typical when it comes to spending extra money.

How about you? Where does most of your expendable cash go?

Hmm, I've read that the 2nd house also says what we like to buy. I've got Gemini on there, and I obsess over buying books.

That's good stuff, MVM....but I guess they fall behind on my priority list - I have my moon in the 2nd house, so family and home takes on even more significance for my cash spending...however, with Capricorn on the cusp of my 2nd house, I do find it necessary to contribute regularly to a retirement fund that is matched by my employer... I didn't think to mention that because, well..it's dull. I want to know about what you think is fun..and I don't get the shoe thing to be honest, but I do often wish I had better shoes, caught off guard when surrounded by people with great shoes lol...I just don't give shoes enough respect. I often regret that, but I hate my feet so I guess I ignore them because of that. They're wide with a very high arch, and I can't wear the sleek strappy sexy shoes most women wear. Shoe shopping is just work for me. And often disappointing so..Waaah! ok I'm over it.

Shoes...let's get some shoes... (has anyone seen that video on U-tube?)

Hmmm, second house, nothing there, maybe why I hate shopping.

But if I do, it is books, dvds, and art supplies.
I like buying jewelry too. Lately I've been into just cheap costume jewelry so I have something trendy to match every outfit.

O, and candles, addicted.

i oscillate between 2 extremes. having Capricorn 2nd house and its ruler Saturn in the first degree of Virgo, i can get uber-thrifty. i'm good at managing my food cost below 10 euros/week, and still cook up things i love to eat (but no luxury ingredients), and never waste food either.

BUT

my Sagittarius stellium rebel against it every once in a while, and once or twice a year i go binge-shopping. i just go "fu€k it!" and buy everything i want to update my wardrobe (well, within my affordable range still). so all in all, i'm probably not saving any money in the end...

grand earth trine w/ taurus asc,virgo venus,and cappy moon(money and material possessions come so easy to me with this gt). Venus is also my strongest planet and it's in the 5th w/ jupiter, both squaring neptune.

Pretty much every penny of my money that isn't spent on things for Moonie are spent on Dunkin Donuts iced coffee. I really wish I was kidding, but the stuff is like crack. I actually get EXCITED around this time of year because I know the Pumpkin flavoring is coming back.

Leo here, but with Jupiter in Pisces in the 2nd...getting awesome free stuff is one of my natural talents. If I so much as think, Wow, I wish I could afford a massage at that Really Fancy Spa I can't afford, I get a call a few days later from someone being like, "Hey, I have this gift certificate for Really Fancy Spa I can't use, because I hate getting pampered for hours, can you please take it off my hands?" I'm also awesome at finding bargains, shoestring travel, etc.

But if I have to pay myself, I splurge on:
-an apartment in my favorite neighborhood, whether I am living in NYC or Paris or London or wherever...usually 2nd house Jupiter lets this work out
-great meals out
-organic food--costs more but I notice a difference
-theater
-yoga classes
-travel...I always travel on a shoestring and count on Jupiter to introduce me to friends who really need a housesitter for their villa near San Tropez, but I will shell out to get there
-good lingerie and cashmere if I can't find it at sample sales, although usually I can
-really pricy coffee (yummmm)
-pastries
-fancy chocolate
-spices (I don't cook much, but when I do I always want good saffron)
-perfume, essential oils, and anything that really smells good

(I'm Leo, Cancer Moon, Cancer Venus if you didn't guess that already...I don't like "stuff" or enjoy shopping, but I like a decadent lifestyle.)

oh yes and books. books are always the exception no matter how broke i am. i allow myself to only eat macaroni for the rest of the week if i can get a hold of that book i want so bad.

sometimes i wish i could afford organic food and occasional restaurants (but why when there are really good squat house meals around the corner?), films at theatres (but why the need? my friend used to work at an alternative cinema and can get us in for free)... but i'm pretty good at being low-maintenance and at the same time have my style. aw but i really could have a few new things to wear though... and desperately need a new book.

Oh this is a fun topic... What do I spend money on that I really really shouldn't?

BOOKS. I am a true Virgo in this respect. It is rare that I leave a Barnes & Noble without buying SOMETHING. That's why I had to ban myself from bookstores for awhile.

Travel. I opened a savings account last year specifically to save for a trip to Europe. I have Sagittarius on the 2nd house, so this might have to do with why I will spend money not only on this trip, but random road trips and trips to other new places.

Random adventurous activities (again, Sagittarius)- Let's see... This year I've done fencing, hiking, white water rafting, salsa dancing, yoga, and capture the flag. I also wanted to do backpacking, but I think I will save that for next summer, and in the time that it takes to get to next summer, I will probably have thought up 10 more things to do. We'll see if I take snowboarding or skiing this winter... I might TRY them.

Spending money on random surprise favors for friends. I'll randomly buy someone a coffee or a trinket or something that I know that they'll want. Uranus conjunct Jupiter in Sadge in my 1st.

I also go out to eat a lot, but this is more a social function than anything.

Overall I think my Uranus/Jupiter conjunction and Sagittarius on the 2nd are the most to blame for the things I buy extravagantly. I rarely buy THINGS. Most of the time I buy EXPERIENCES.

I never thought of it that way, I like to buy experiences too. Concerts I can't afford, big parties that are catered and have a d.j., stuff like that.

I'm a pisces and you will almost never catch me buying luxury items, or anything for "me" for that matter. If I do save up and then indulge it will usually be for something the kids need...horseback riding lessons, a wii, fancy, brand name clothes that teenagers seem to "need"

Over the last year I have made some bigger purchaes for the home, like a dishwasher, new couches...but we kind of needed those things. I did also save up and take us all to Disneyland.

In general, I'm about as practical as it comes and really don't spend frivilously at all...and I really think about my purchases before I make them.

My ex on the other hand was also a Pisces and he would spend money like crazy on anything and everything that he thought he needed at that moment. He was very impulsive, never thought beyond what he "wanted" at the time, never saved and was anything but responsible.

I'm a Taurus with a Scorpio Moon and Cancer Rising. Cancer is on the 2nd house cusp and I also have Jupiter in Taurus.

-good quality food, natural, organic, etc.
-great coffee
-pastries
-chocolate
-decent clothes, shoes, purses
-natural facial products, cleansers, etc.
-good quality shampoo
-perfume

on a daily basis, it's usually coffee and food. I can't buy clothes, shoes, and purses all the time. i'd rather have a pair of nice shoes than a couple mediocre pair of shoes.
