I've decided I'm going to pack in my job. It's a huge risk, I've only been there 14 days but I've had enough - that Saturn/Uranus Opposition really shook me. that It's not for me. So I'm going to leave at the end of September. It's been very emotional actually and I've shed lots of tears on the way to work. But life is too short for unhappiness. So even though I putting my home at risk, my sanity even and have no support from my family I'm determined to do what I think is right.

I'd like you're honest opinion though - are things set to get worse in my chart? I might be facing homeless if I don't find something new sooon. I've never done something so risky but I feel the universe is on my side.

My chart: http://www.astro.com/cgi/showgif.cgi?lang=e&gif=astro_245gw_01_me_2009919.38966.4039.gif&res=100&va=&cid=hfkfilebTPH55-u1213270259

Thanks

hi there...i have not said a word as you were going thru this, but i totally sensed how miserable you were and i thought of a job i hated becasue my boss was a tyrant but stayed at for 8 long years because i needed the money and also put me in mind of once when i walked out of a job at lunch and never went back. i wish i had the balls to leave the other one before 8 long years had went by..I hope you find something better soon. life is too short to be miserable,i know the market is tight but whether we admit it or not our workday and the mood it puts us in doesn't stop when we clock out. there is nothing much worse than waking up and dreading the beautiful day because of what you have to do for the next 8-10 hours....I wish you all the best in finding a new job.

not sure how the Saturn - Uranus opposition would've affected you at work; they don't seem to make any aspects right now to your planets.

but anyways. Saturn rules your 6th and sits in your 2nd, so I'd say its energy is very imp to your earning your money. Since it's transiting your 3rd and Uranus opposes from the 9th, I'd say you just got itchy feet while your mindset seems a bit too depressed and self-critical.

maybe transiting Saturn conj your NN may bring some sort of special meeting for you - but it doesn't mean 'work'.

You have to ask yourself, which is worse, homelessness or being unhappy at work?

You have a LOADED STELLIUM 4th house, and it's getting aspected by Jupiter, Uranus and Saturn. This is your HOME and there is a lot hanging in the balance. I see that in the coming years, you will be dealing with Pluto opposing your moon, which is a very intense and scary time. And currently Neptune squaring your Venus and Mars adds to your confusion and sense of loss. When Jupiter will go direct and square them again, these feelings will intensify.

Uranus trining your Venus and Mars is causing you to be reckless when it comes to your home and to yearn for freedom. Saturn sextiling this Venus/Mars configuration should help you get more grounded and give you a yearning for stability.

Unless I had another job waiting in the wing, I would stay put, especially with all that's happening to your 4th house right now. But it's up to you. I wish I had better news, but it seems to me that you have to choose your devil: which devil is less frigthening to you, homelessness or lousy job?

I think you should follow your heart, period.
If it feels right, do it. I don't think you'll be homeless.

During the beginning of this Saturn-Uranus opposition I scrapped a lot of big stuff and no one supported me.

Just wait until Mercury goes direct though, to quit

Thanks for your comments. I'm so stubborn there's I will go ahead.

Financially I should be able to survive until the end of October then after that it's time to panic.

If you have a plan that will make money right now - great - way to go!

If you quit and do not have a job, realize that employers like to hire people who are already working. It just the plain truth - no job means a potential risky hire whether it is true or not.

The fact is no job is perfect, every job has it's flaws because the dynamics of working with people effect you. Even if your self-employed, your clients can become unreasonable, mistakes happen and frustration sets in.

Here is a harsh drink of reality. Our own temperment, ability to handle difficult situations and people, personal happiness with relationships, health, lack of steps in empowering or educating ourself, etc. are what really contributes to our happiness or lack of happiness at a job. These are all within our own control, but it takes a lot of work at becoming a whole and skilled person.

If you have quit and have no plans and no education, good luck. I'm sure the same problems you had at this job will follow you at the next. Our life's lessons have a way of following us until we realize "oh my God, it's me and not them!" Of course there are terrible jobs and you've been there only 14 days. My guess is that they see you're unhappy anyway.

So use your time wisely. Get career counseling- try your local library. Have a plan to know exactly what your calling in life is. Read -what color is your parachute. Take classes and workshops if you can now afford them. Immediately get a roommate to split costs. Cut back on extras. You will need much focus and a plan of action ASAP.

By the way, when is Saturn leaving Virgo and entering Libra your sun sign? You know what that means don't you? You're at the end of Libra, so get going quick quick.

Thanks aka Kat. I live in England and we have a careers advice line which I think I'll call. I do like my field of work but the problem with the role I'm in is that it's very limited and not as creative as I thought it would be. Today for the first time since I started the job, a sense of calm has washed over me and even though my family reckon I'm barking mad, including my mum who's been doing the same dreay job for 30 years, I feel 100 per cent certain I should move on and find something else.

Then you need to do what you are to do. The results could be great in the long run, but expect tough times ahead. The best thing to do is to not have idle time on your hands and to always be working toward some type of goal. I have done this long ago and it was many many month before I had a new job. After about one month, depression set in. Really-- always have a goal you wake up to do. You may need to go to a temporary agency to work a day here and there. Whatever you do, watch for ways you might trick yourself into just relaxing and vegging out. Start doing yoga or exercise, KEEP YOURSELF BUSY. Set a goal that you will work towards what you want in life 8 to 10 hours a day!

May i suggest that you find a new job before you quit this one!!

PLEASE.

The UK is about to economically get MUCH WORSE.. if you don't believe me then google "usa+single currency" because the UN just approved the USA's request for a single currency.

Please swallow your pride, your personal views and do your job until you find another one.

The sh1t is about to hit the fan. Seriously.

BTW the careers advice line is rubbish... have you used it before? You are indeed blessed if they help you - i have seen so many people do exactly what you are about to do and now they are all screwed because there are NO jobs out there.

NO jobs.

I sound pessimistic but i also live in the UK and i am well-informed at to what is happening.
The UK is going to get a lot worse.

Thanks again for your comments. But I fear if stay they'll end up telling me to go. I'm a cancer moon and I wear my heart on my sleeve to some extent. They can see the sadness in my eyes. I had a meeting with my manager the other day and she said she thought I looked at bit stressed but I told her everything was fine which is a painful thing to say when you know you're not happy.

I just got it wrong. My instinct told me to say no when I found out I was offered the job but I went and said yes as I was desperate for money at the time. Since my first day in the job I've been toying with the idea of leaving - first I told myself I'll look on in April which became March which became January then January became the end of September.

I'm sure many of you do think I'm mad like my relatives but I think if I continue lying to myself and balling my eyes out on the bus every day I will become clinically 'mad'.

I'm hoping to get some money refunded to me from the bank so I might survive until Christmas. Luckily I do have good skills and there are jobs in my field. If I end up regretting this decision then I guess more fool me.

Best,

Miss Mystic x

I think you're fine.
This is coming from someone who'll pack up and move in the blink of an eye, money e damned.... I'm all for taking chances.
Why make yourself miserable?
Of course ideally you should get another job.
But if that doesn't happen, what can you do?
I think it's important to follow your GUT and your intuition - that's the bottom line. Even if it makes things hard, so what? - at least you know in your very soul that you're doing the right thing.
I have lived hand to mouth in a foreign country where I didn't know the language and not a single family member would help me out because they didn't support me. I was flat broke. I didn't know when my next meal would come half the time. But in those 6 months I found myself, and no one can ever take that experience away. I could sleep better at night because I knew in my soul that regardless of what others thought, I was doing the right thing.

A clear conscience is hard-earned, but the peace which comes from it is invaluable.

it sounds like your mind is made up whatever anyone says. I just hope you don't have kids!

What exactly is so bad about your job. You know happiness is a state of mind and I'd be interested to know which you find more happy:

1) being in a crap job that pays you money
2) being homeless in the dead of winter!!!

Have you ever experienced a night without heating, a roof and shelter from the wind?
I'm a little concerned that you are not totally being honest with yourself here.

Good luck

Mysticr,

I agree with Lara here.

You have on this new job only for 14 days.

Anyway if you are so unhappy, I also think it would be wise to look for a new job first, before quitting this one.

Speaking astrologically for a moment, maybe it would be better to make the final decision after Mercury is not retograde anymore as well as the Saturn-Uranus-opposition isn`t valid anymore. It does tend to make us want to tear away from old situations.

Now maybe you NEED to get away from this situation, yes, but please try to find a good support system before (meaning a new job, or at least a family that can assist you for a certain time).

but it seems that you really made up your mind. So it probably doesnt matter what anyone of us sais.

I really hope the best for you, and that you will find a new and better job soon.

BTW what is so horrible about this job?

Mysticr,

May i ask where in the UK you live? This will determine the availability of a new job. Personally, i'd say if it were London then go ahead and leave with caution. If it's anywhere else in the UK i wouldn't leave for love nor money!

We are about to hit phase 2 of global restructuring. I'm not sure you want to be homeless nor jobless when that happens.

I did this. And though panic has started to set in, my only regret is not saving enough. Any longer at my last job and I felt something horrible would've happened. Though, I'm the sort to pack and leave in an instant. I've risked it all and walked away with nary a scratch at least four times before. I know I'll survive this.

The universe is rigged to protect not punish us. Life becomes unbearable when we resist change an swim against the tide. Do what your heart says, just make sure you have sort sort of a financial cushion.

Interesting Lara! My gut tells me the US is in a quiet before the storm that will hit early next year.

M-What profession are you in and would you like to be in?
You mentioned that your job is not creative enough.

it's a tough call that only you can answer. i am wrestling with the same thing and though i won't be homeless it is scary...i am blessed to have family with a little extra space but honestly i have been here too long. sometimes you have to let go of the old to make room for something new. in my case it is a little easier because i probably will never get the money they owe me if i don't leave

however...

14 days is hardly long enough to know how to do the job let alone how you like it. are you sure you're not just having "buyers remorse"? it has taken me months to get into the swing of some of the things i've done.

do you own your home? or rent? does the dole still pay rent plus minimum money or has the system changed? i can't remember if there's any help available for homeowners there but i seem to recall not...

that said i have seen any number of people walk from jobs for whatever reason because they just couldn't hack it any longer, and something else immediately opened up. i know things are rotten over there now, but my peeps are all hangin' in okay, though they've tightened there belts significantly...

do your family think it's so mad they won't shelter you if absolutely necessary?

Hi,

I do web work, edit websites. Today I had the happiest day since I joined the organisation and that's because I know I want to leave. Now the following may sound very odd but I feel my body is talking to me:

My stomach/solar plexus/gut area felt strangely warm. Because of my good mood I thought I could trick my gut and tell myself I'd leave the job in January. A sharp pain went through that area. Lots of little things about this job which then snowball into a big thing make it not suitable for me. I'm scared yes, very scared. I've never taken such a risk but I can't put myself through any more pain by doing something I can't bear.

Next week is when I'm planning to hand in notice so I'm going to stay acutely attuned to my emotions. Obviously my relatives and even a few concerned postings on here have got me worried and wondering if my life is about to get a whole lot worse but I just can't keep on lying to myself and to all those who on asking me if I'm okay when inside I'm screaming.

I'm renting and I can meet October's rent.

Are you SURE that you aren't getting your mind to stress out and perform weird bodily functions to satisfy your obsession with LEAVING!!!

mwahhh

Sorry Mystic but i'm having a problem understanding how you can possibly know after 14 days whether a job is cool or not.

I'm going to have to be quite candid in this post and if it ruffles some feathers, I'm sorry, so be it.

Every post that you have had on here Mystic is one of depression, quiting jobs, giving up on life, etc. etc. Quite frankly, you need to be an adult, step back from the situation, and take a candid look at where you are going (into real oblivion living on the streets).

Life is not always going to be peaches and cream, sometimes you just need to tough things out and not give up on them. The first 14 days of the job that I've had for close to 2 years now were a bear as well, but I love my job now: it just took some adjustment.

Also stop using astrology as a crutch. The Saturn oppositions, etc. are not doing anything to you. It is your inability to face up to life and find your way that is causing your troubles. The tide is coming over you and you will drown if you do not start to save yourself by gaining self-esteem and self-mastery (that's what your Virgo NN is all about).

Once again sorry for being so harsh, but sometimes things need to be laid bare if they are to improve. I only wish you the best and hate to see anyone get crushed by life.
