If I am supposed to go by transits, at the time we met Venus conjuncted my natal Sun by 0.40 degrees and transiting Mars conjuncted my Descendant by 0.29 degrees. Did I do this right, and if so, how important would you say these first meeting charts are and these aspects in particular.

When I met my SO (dec. '08) T-Venus was at 19* Aqua EXACTLY conjunct both our Mars - nothing planned!, I figured it out months later when after years my astrological interest did rise,

and..

also conjunct MY NN (14*)
also conjunct HIS Valentine (16*)

T-Venus was also right on the descendant at the first moment our eyes met.

So, Yes, this was a VERY significant meeting - one of the two most in my whole life - but that doesn't guarantee the long-term work I think. Why? Because I put my SO to the choice,..otherwise; BREAK-UP! (I act sturdy but I ain't).

Don't forget: I almost became paranoid when I looked deeper and deeper into that first meeting chart!

See, the Universe will initiate the fire, not sustain the flame. Ok, some sustaining aspects help

Pluto-Perephone, Pluto-Proserpine, Isis-Osiris and some Saturn or KARMA trines, they will maintain the fuel supply after the Transit Venus or Mars ignition.

DW Pluto/Persephone sextile (both within 1,5 degr.)

Isis/Osiris conjunction (0'26 degr.) !

Pluto/Proserpina conjunction (4'10 degr./ofcourse too wide!)

iQ, do you think this could also have the potential to sustain the flame?

usually important meetings also can be seen by progressions:

P.Sun/Ven cj/trine other+s N.sun/ve/ASC

see if this happened when you two met.

i also believe that the day/time when you started "dating" or made the relationship "oficial"like the day when you first kissed or asked to date,is important too.

the day you met can give you hints on how the relationship affects the other?by comparing the day you met versus each natal.

i think that the rest of the charts override the anterior one.like the chart of the date,overrides the chart of the meeting and the chart of marriage also overrides the chart of meeting...some say it goes like this.

in our case,i feel the chart of date is more in accordance to what our relationship means to both of us,right now:

His N.Valentine cj Tr Venus
His N.NN cj Tr Sun
his N.Kiron cj DSC-this one very real as since we started dating,he had to overcome past wounds/hurts and i had to open them in order to heal them

if you look at Progressions,in the day we met,you will find the general hint:

Your ISIS-OSIRIS connection and that Pluto-Persephone DW along with blissful Saturn aspects, those are akin to a few million dollars in cash, tax free.
My wife and I overcame:
Saturn opp Venus, Saturn sq Saturn, Pluto opp Chiron, Karma opp Chiron, Sun opp Chiron, Asc sq Asc, Asc sq Karma, Asc opp Moon, Mars sq Pluto and Mars sq Moon.
With just an exact VALENTINE-True Node DW and a Mars trine Mars.
Had I not known about astrology and karma/past lifelines, we would have split in about 3 months.

It is very painful for me to see splits in couples who have excellent aspects. You both can easily sustain a blissful relationship.
All thats needed is awarness of karma from your guy.

well im looking at the aspects of your wife and you and im thinking...what are the odds of having the NN/Valentine DW...One im a million right? so surely that conection is so unique at a point that can override some of the nasty ones.

Instead of the Saturn/Saturn square you have, we have the Saturn/Saturn opposition!
That's heavy!
Also the Mars/Moon square we share.

WOW! I just have to do it with astrology & humanity/psychology! Maybe - he believes people can come back as dogs/cats...so there IS believe - I better let him (my still so) with that thought

Funny also that T-Venus at the time we met was in close applying aspect to our Isis/Osiris at 23 Aqua.

Hm...I checked, we also have an exact Eros/NN conjunction, an exact Isis/NN conj.,
and..... within 2 degr.: Eros/Aphrodite; Valentine/Aphrodite; Valentine/NN - conjunctions (much Aqua!)
And...last but not least ofcourse our nice Sun/Moon conj. within 2 degr.

But....yes Diandra, let's see the progressions which may make things more clear about why the flame will probably not sustain,

I know there were no conj./trines/opp. in the progressed Venus-aspects, only:

- My N-Sun square his P-Venus (1,5 applying/ still applying right now)
- His N-Sun sextile my P-Venus (2,5 applying/ ofcourse also still applying).

I was detained by immigration for a few hours which added to the suspense, but also allowed for a quater Moon on my DC.

I touched down at Heathrow at 5:45am 11 Oct. The quarter Moon was at 9:57am which is when the immigration official interviewing me told me she would let me through. We actually first met in person at 10:30am.

So transiting Moon at 18can31 was conjunct my DC (18can54), and the MC at that time was 10vir45 on my Moon (10vir37).

A friend told me that some of you here are good with love asteroids. Any ideas on which ones I could put in this chart to get some more info?

In Asteroids, just check for VALENTINE [Asteroid No 447], EROS [433] and ANGEL [11911].

Mars was in my 7th house sextile my Sun.

Valentine was square my Eros and sextile her Vertex.

Eros in the meeting chart was the action point of a Yod to the Venus Mars sextile. It was trine my Angel and trine her part of fortune.

Angel was square my Valentine and square her Saturn.

Very interesting! Thanks for the feedback. I'm particularly interested in the placement of Eros. Was he the son of Venus and Mars?

Eros sq Valentine is a "sexual tension" aspect for the sake of a long term relationship. A first meeting Mars in 7th is a booster for a successful partnership or relationship.
I interpret Angel squares to mean that a few "soul tests" are to come to see how much you both love each other.

EROS and PSYCHE are the mythological lovebirds, very valuable in synastry.
As are ZEUS-HERA and JUPITER-JUNO.

The more spiritually aware among us are sensitive to OSIRIS-ISIS in synastry.
