Does this happen often? This is the only chart like this I've seen, but I haven't studied hundreds of charts. I read the description for this pattern, but was wondering if anyone had personal experiences or insight they'd like to share.

You got a grand trine at 6 Fire (started at Aries) and another grand trine at 4 Earth (started at Taurus)

Both semi-sextile each other, which can only be very strong.
Another grand trine will be complete, in transit, when a planet reaches 17 Aqua. That aspect should be important due to Mars ruling 1st, and Moon in trine, ruling 4th of home/country/father.

Not a unique pattern. The outers are normally apart for generations, with Saturn/Jupiter semi-sextile for 2-3 years of a 12 year cycle.

its kind of unique to me, i don't see 'splashed' charts like this often.

but i ain't looked at loads of charts either.

p.s. this person's DSC is right on my venus, as well as some other noticeable aspects in synastry with my chart.

This is your chart future?
very cool
I have a splash configuration also
(planets in every house except the 6th)
it basically means that your interest (and talents) have a wide range. A little something for everyone.

here are the 7 configurations

A popular modern astrological theory is that there are seven distinct types of birth chart. The theory is that the shape of the distribution of the planets in the chart indicates the nature of the individual.
The Bundle
The Bundle is the rarest grouping and occurs when all the planets fall within several consecutive signs. It is associated with specialization and a general narrowness of outlook. Bundle people are usually VERY good in a particular field.

The See-Saw
The See-Saw occurs when half the planets are opposite the other half. This grouping is associated with people who are able to consider the opposing views of almost any situation. See-Saw people should be encouraged to be decision-makers.

The Locomotive
The Locomotive is so named because the planets are almost equally spaced around the chart. This harmonious grouping bestows balance and an unusual amount of energy and drive. Locomotive people can generally take on any task successfully.

The Splash
The Splash occurs when the planets are spread over nine or ten signs of the chart. This broad grouping reflects the individual's considerable range of interests. Splash people tend to know a little bit about everything and can tend to scatter their energy.

The Bucket
The Bucket will be seen when nine planets are grouped in one half of the chart and one planet, which is called a Singleton, is in the other. Bucket people are risk-takers and need to be successful. They will tend to focus their energy in one direction.

The Splay
The Splay is quite rare and is the grouping of the individualist. It occurs when three specific groupings of planets form one or more Grand Trines. Splay people are easily bored and do not fit well into environments of strict discipline and routine.

The Bowl
The Bowl grouping occurs when all the planets occupy one half of the chart. The configuration is more influential if the Bowl is below or above the Ascendant. Bowl people take in all around them and trust their feelings. They do not tend to rely on others.

nice post lalalinda,

i ain't too sure which category my chart falls under,

i think its in between the locomotive and bucket :S

i have 8 planets in the lower half (including pluto?)

chiron/jupiter/moon in the top half. i have much square energy.

kinda like, a square lay out.. jupiter / chiron in the top left of the chart, moon top right, nep/sat/uran bottom right of the chart, sun/merc/mars/venus bottom left. pluto bottom middle.

No, I'm sorrry-- I should have stated this is not my chart. It's the chart of a family member and it has always intrigued me. I would estimate that I've only seen about 100 charts or so, and this is the only one that I've seen with this pattern, so I wondered how it feels to others who may have it. I'd like to bone up on my knowledge!

Lalalinda, do you feel like the splash pattern has affected you in any specific ways? When reading a chart, do you generally consider the pattern at all? When I read the descriptions, they feel very general. I'm not quite sure how to interpret them with the rest of the chart.

Coffee, thanks for the transit information. This will be helpful!

Letram, I'm not certain that my chart fits any particular pattern, either.

Hi future,
Good questions, yes I do look at the chart configurations, but in a general way.
Some configurations are more prominent than others like the see-saw, with all those oppositions.
With the splash there is almost an equal amount of hard and easy aspects (or configurations)

I think in my chart it shows in my ability to adapt.

I don't know why, but my intuition tells me that a person with this pattern might be very laid back. The person whose chart I've posted is definitely not a laid back person! I would think that having various energies "scattered" around one's chart would make them very adaptable, like you said, and also kind of relaxed.

If you don't mind one more question, where do you feel you rest on this spectrum? Are you pretty laid back or more tightly wound? I've always gotten a calm vibe from you here at LL, but real life can be different!

good question
I am most comfortable in a relaxed setting (Taurus Moon)
but unfortunately my Sun/Aries and Sag Ascendant are high energy.

Can you ever really calm a fire sign down?

you're a fire (Aries) sign too arn't you future?

scratch that, You're a Sag
