I don't know how to interpret this. Just wanted to say that Saggies with Libra Moons are very loving people. The kind that is worth your time.

Throw the charts away and listen to your inner voice instead. One person says he doesn't rate your chart, so you find some different versions to try and equal that out. Maybe you need to work on your self-confidence so you don't feel the need to do that - did you question his judgement when he made that answer or did you just assume he knows better than you do? You're in the relationship, you know whether or not it has potential to make you both happy. Good luck! IP: Logged |

I think, astrology is real, and it does reflect our lives in many ways. But the problem is that every astrologer has his own perceptions and probably doesn`t see the "whole truth". And as long as there are so many gaps in astrological knowledge (and there still are HUGE gaps), we really should take every interpretationw ith more than a grain of salt. And in the end it all depends on you. I agree with BM, let your heart decide. I don´t think astrology is a good deciding tool, it maybe can explain and help you understand certain things, but I would warn of using it do decide about a relationship. That is in your and your partner`s responsibility. And if you love each other and want to find a way, I am pretty optimistic that you will. Oh just one thing I don´t think that one thing cancels out the other. People and relationships are full of contradictions sometimes, and astrology illustrates this, too.

I'm a big fan of Composites. And I do think they balance out harsher aspects in synastry.IP: Logged |

I think, that every chart answers a different question, so they don`t cancel each other out, but maybe they can overlay each other a bit, so it seems like it? Unmoved had a thread on this.

Yes, it's real in the sense it serves as a guide to understanding the dynamics in a relationship, and that can help make it work better. I don't think it works as a map that will cast judgement on whether or not this is the person for you, that is just using it as a crutch. Just cutting and pasting your synastry, so we can take have a closer look...
Looks O.K to me at first glance, some tension, some flowing aspects, seems like life. IP: Logged |

WOW,I don`t have much time, but did my eyes spot a conjunction of ruler of DESC (Neptune) with ruler of 8th house (Sun)? That looks very intense and potentially binding to me. IP: Logged |

...you're the Gem, yes? Seems to me like the Mercury Opposition to his Sun/Mars could be argumentative, but also possibily quite stimulating. Do you have a natal Mercury/Saturn Square? That's interesting as his Sun/Mars would be forcing that into a T-Square. What I can see for sure is that Sun/Mars is Square Saturn. That's hard energy, but also, maybe Saturn can help streamline that Martial energy and encourage it to do something wise. I don't think it is an easy part of the relationship. On the other side of the street, his Venus Trine your Sun is a lovely softening and caring aspect. His Moon is also Trine your Sun. With you as Saturn to his Sun/Mars as well I am starting to wonder here if you have some kind of controlling feminine influence over him, the kind that makes a man become a man and settle down. If that is a natal Moon/Venus Trine on his chart, your Sun is pulling it into a Grand Trine. IP: Logged |

Both synastry and composite are important, since the synastry can show where two people can be compatible, while the composite can show how the relationship's dynamics are. For example, just imagine 2 different cases - case 1, in which there's lack of compatibility but the relationship itself is great; and case 2, in which the couple is very compatible but the relationship itself isn't really good. In both cases, things might not be that bad, as in the 1st case, the couple might know that they are kinda different, but are still happy together, and in the 2nd case, the relationship might not be easy, but the couple would still try to work things out. But well, in the end, it all depends on each couple and what kind of problems/lack of compatibility is there. But well, I agree that we should go with what our hearts tells us. I completely agree with what DD said. IP: Logged |

LTT,I place very much importance on houserulers in synastry; of course I am still researching it, but so far they seem to be consistent. And a conjunction of ruler 7 and ruler 8 is comparable (to a certain degree) with a Venus-Pluto-conjunction. But you can also see it from another perspective: 7th house and of course its ruler, too, signifies relationships and often it is very indicative of a "type" that seems to be good "partner-material" to us (it doesn`t have to be passionate though). Usually people who touch our 7th house ruler seem like people we can consider a more committed relationship with. It`s the Libran house, so what we are striving for here, is a sort of balanced relationship, based on equality and partnership (it is also an AIR house). The 8th house is the place where a relationship gets not only committed, but very very deep, usually you reach this degree of intimacy and intensity, after you have made the relationship a sexual one, too. Of course this is not always the case, some people may reach that depth and intensity without sex, too. It is a Scorpio-Pluto house, fixed WATER, very deep, emotional, and certainly not inclined to ever let go of something or someone again. Now imagine, putting these two together. It gets very deep I think, sometimes so deep that one or both people could even be scared and trying to avoid this degree of intensity. In the 8th house we are really vulnerable, cause our soul is being stripped naked. So here the need for partnership (7th house) meets the deepest instincts, depth and passion, a need to transform (8th house). You can imagine what such a partnership would be like. Also, if I see it rightly, one person`s 7th house ruler is conjunct the other`s Sun. The Sun-person might embody with his / her general personality pretty much an "ideal" partner.
It is as easy as adding 1 and 1. The ruler of 7th house is in Sagittarius. So part of what the 7th house person needs in a partnership is Sagittarian-like. Maybe even someone from abroad. Or an philosopher. Or a gypsy. Tolerant. A cosmopolitan. Kind and openminded. And now there is this person, whose Sun falls in Sagittarius. (S)he has these traits, becuase the Sun is in this sign, so the 7th house person might feel pretty drawn to Sun. In this case the Sun in Sagittarius is in the 4th house and overlays the 12th house. Both houses are kinda "hidden", so maybe this "complimenting each other" is not as obvious as it would be in other houses, but since both are water houses it is very emotional, deep and I think very karmic (personally I think all the water houses have a connection to Karma.) Of course this was just one single aspect there.
For a romance I think 5th house aspects would be necessary or at least beautiful, too.
Something liek 5th house ruler conjuncts Sun, Moon, ASC, 5th house ruler, ASC-ruler or DESC ruler for example. 5th house ruler conjunct 8th house ruler could get more passionate and intense than some people can handle I think (depending on the natal charts of course). Both, the 5th as well as the 8th house, are houses that relate to "sex". Both are fixed, and don`t like to share their object of affection. 5th house is fire, 8th house is water. Put these together and it doesn`t only sizzle.... The difference is, in the 5th house there is a more playful note, more flirtatitve, while the 8th house is not playful at all, here sex and relationships are a matter of life and death. Those people can really get under our skin, and this sometimes might even feel more than a little bit uncomfortable. The Heathcliff`s and Othello`s and Medea`s of this world are at home in this house, too. It is funny, that I started talking about this. I had no idea why. But I just checked, and it seems like the Cappy ASC`s 5th house ruler MErcury opposes the other one`s 8th house ruler Mars. lol
I would like to find aspects to both 5th house rulers, though, cause I have found these the most consistent component in mutual attractions, which also means that sometimes (depending on the charts), if only one person has a strong 5th house ruler in synastric aspect, but the other has no aspect to his 5th house ruler, then the attraction might be onesided or at least extremely unbalanced. Of course if the other one has strong aspects to his DESC-ruler this might balance it out to a certain degree.
Even though, it could lead to the situation where one person sees the other as a serious partner-material (7th house), while the other one is just interested in romance without commitment (5th house). IP: Logged |

Hey DD, What is the house system you use for these calculations? Some people have intercepted 7th-1st houses. So though the sign on the 7th house axis may be one the whole 7th house itself may fall in another sign.IP: Logged |

I have been using Placidus for this, but am open to Equal, too. Just haven`t reseearched it that much. Both rulers are valid; I haven`t seen any difference between the main ruler and the intercepted one. For example Jupiter is in Pisces, which is intercepted in 3rd house, in my chart, and he certainly is very obvious in my personality. IP: Logged |

Hey DD, Thanks for the reply. I have DC in Virgo but at 24 degrees of it and the 8th house axis begins only in 1 degree scorpio. so there is no house for Libra. Would my 7th house ruler be Mercury or Venus? Also now that Saturn moved into Libra is he still loitering around in my 7th house? Tell him to go away:-) He has been enough trouble for the past 2 years.IP: Logged |

Raijn, your DESC-ruler would be Mercury AND Venus. And Saturn is still in libra, and therefore in your 7th house. LTT, you´re welcome. IP: Logged |

If you can do natal charts you are nearly there, because all we are doing here is blending in one chart to the other. Example, here we have Gemini Sun, and it is Trine to Libran Moon. It's energy that goes well. You could do that on a natal chart, similar here except it is about the parts of two people's personalities that go together well. If we get more complicated we can say how one person's planet pulls in another's aspect into a more complex configuration. Say, someone with a testing Square reacts to someone else's planet and makes it a T-Square. Now this is not easy energy, but it is dynamic. Personally, I think this is the kind of energy that helps us learn and grow in a relationship. Unless we want a 'yes-man' who is going to indulge us in an ego-trip, most of us I would say are quietly grateful to be with someone who will help us become better and more fulfilled people.

BM,I was thinking the same. Nothing drives these comments away more quickly, than asking for the reasoning behind it. Most of the time there isn`t any reasoning. At other times, when someone actually was serious, it could lead to fruitful discussions. IP: Logged |
