I'm being published in a magazine next month writing an astrological column. It will be published every 2 months. I've written an introduction of about 500-600 words, and then the 12 signs are between 50 and 100 each. Now, because my real name is so conspicuous as i have a dutch surname and live on a small island in the U.K 'Adam Boudewijn' i've been thinking of using a pseudonym for publishing purposes. Mainly because i work as a painter / decorator during the day and mix with alot of morons who i wish to keep this side of me from (sad i know but it's not worth having to explain to these monkeys). I was thinking of using my middle name instead of my first, but that still leaves my conspicuous surname. So probably have to change the whole thing. I know it sounds crazy but i actually like the name Fire Goodman. I'm serious by the way and the proof will be out on the 15th. Just though you lot could maybe help me think of a pseudonym. My deadline is monday to get email my finished article to the editor, so i have to be sure of a name by then. Thanks all.------------------ neutralcruiser@hotmail.co.uk IP: Logged |

I think Fire Goodman sounds effeminate. It alludes to a female writer.IP: Logged |

I don't mind effeminate, but yes i see your point. Maybe i'll make Fire the surname and think of a first name. Although i think Fire is such a cool first name ------------------ neutralcruiser@hotmail.co.uk IP: Logged |

Well it has to sound like a real name. So anything like stargazer is out. It has to be a real-sounding name that i could have been christened with, and that one wouldn't mind being refered to by in real life. I'd love it if my first name was Fire. I think the fire's staying. So i'm after a surname. Goodman sounds too 'played out''mental block' pmsl ------------------ neutralcruiser@hotmail.co.uk IP: Logged |

Goodman alludes to the connection with Linda. Astro people will make the connection. There's an honour as well as a reputation to live up to. That's a shadow of expectation over you. You want something unique - that's yours - and reflects you. It's going to be your name - stick with you - so it really needs to BE who you are.IP: Logged |

HiyaWhy did you go for Goodman? Does this mean something to you? Michael is the Archangel of Fire - Michael Goodman is a nice ordinary sounding name? If you are looking for something a bit more 'stagey', how about Prometheus. He stole fire from the gods to help protect those that could not protect themselves. PS - I too am from a small island in the UK - a different one from you tho! Oh - and you'll have to let us have a preview when you are done? IP: Logged |
