I see where all of you are coming from regarding the very tight orbs, and I respect that. But to me, since a first meeting chart sets the relationship in stone forevermore, I treat it as an actual chart. And not just as an event chart, like, say, an horary chart. And there are constant transits to the first meeting chart, just as if it were a birth chart. And in a way it is, as it is the birth of a relationship.

And so therefore I treat it as a regular chart and use the 3-degree orbs, just like I do any other chart. In looking at my own first meeting chart, I see things that have played out in our relationship that I would have overlooked had I just used the 1-2 degree orb. Relationships and life are complicated, and the chart (and transits to it) will reflect that. IMO simplifying the chart will not make the relationship any simplier, it will just cause me to overlook things that are actually there.

...But like I said before, this is what works for me. I probably stand alone, but that's ok.

Shadow Kitten,

I understand your reasons and I agree. It is not just an event chart, but actually a birthchart, and I am okay with a 3 degree orb. AFter all it is what nature has shown us (3 degrees equal the time of the full - or new moon).

i have no idea what you guys are talking about

or maybe i do but i just study how the planets will react in the future so i guess i'm more into an horary... it's like transits to me.

So do you guys think that a 6th house SUN in a meeting chart is basically doomed? (unequal?)

mm you're reading too much into a first meeting chart...

The meeting chart is good.. if you want more you have to check out the transits to the composite.

ok Hanakin, thanks. I understand

Can i ask you what transits show the end of a relationship and also how to tell if a relationship that ended fast after it started (ie. a fling) will re-ignite please!

If you're still looking at these Hannakin, I'm curious to see what you see in this one.

in case this was missed

Braveheart

leo rising also... but the sun falls in the seventh house.. so the sun definitely is looking to settle.
For a relationship

unfortunately the sun only gets negative square to him.

To the moon in taurus which doesn't have the same hopes and pluto which makes it hard to establish something.

The moon nearly opposes pluto ... which will make a full opposition... one will try and manipulate the other into doing what they want the other to be doing.

That makes a very intense meeting... I think it's a not shared love?

someone lives abroad?

also a leo rising meeting... also the sun in the 7th house conjuncting venus ... mars in the first.

hehehehe i would that one recognised the other one as a possible partner the axis rulers

sun for the rising, mars for the mc, uranus and saturn for the desc and venus for the IC

I would say the couple is still together...especially due to the sun venus conjunction the venus trine saturn link and the mars opposition venus

jupiter at the rising.. in cancer.trine the sun in the 8th

it was humourous gay and friendly
jupiter only forms good aspects now to the axis rulers

mars, moon, venus and saturn
the sun will be squaring saturn... one of you wouldn't accept the feelings and be cold

which broke the other's neptunian fantasies
the moon in 4 makes it very realistic yet hoping for settling down.. mars in good aspect in the 10th house which sextiles uranus... a sudden change of opinion

i'd vote for the relationship to still be good and kicking.

and yes i'm still looking i was extremely knackered last night but i'll keep on tonight again

Hi Hanakin,

Here is my first meeting chart, accurate time and date:

Do you want me to tell you whether it is working or non-working, or did you want to guess first?

quote:
I've been doing that on another forum and it's quite incredible to see that often the sun falls in the 1st 5th and 11th house

lol The Sun is in the 10th on mine, but it may be in the 11th as we were around each other since 11 AM, but didn't speak to each other. Was that a trend in the working ones or the non-working ones?

:edit: I just checked and it's in the 11th in equal house, for the initial time of 11: 40.

Hanakin: if he is the sun and I am the moon(it sounds like a love song, doesn't it?) then that is right.

He told me later that: as soon as he met me, that was "the one" for him. And I feel that he loves me more than I love him.

We are both guilty of trying to manipulate each other. Not so much now, though. We've grown up, I guess.

Neither of us abroad.

Thanks for the mini-interpretation.

Braveheart,

actually there is a song in the musical "Miss Saigon", that has the title: "Sun and Moon".

[KIM]
You are sunlight and I moon
Joined by the gods of fortune
Midnight and high noon
Sharing the sky
We have been blessed, you and I

[CHRIS]
You are here like a mystery
I'm from a world that's so different
From all that you are
How in the light of one night
Did we come so far?

[KIM]
Outside day starts to dawn

[CHRIS]
Your moon still floats on high

[KIM]
The birds awake

[CHRIS]
The stars shine too

[KIM]
My hands still shake

[CHRIS]
I reach for you

[BOTH]
And we meet in the sky!

[KIM]
You are sunlight and I moon
Joined here
Bright'ning the sky
With the flame
Of love

[BOTH]
Made of
Sunlight
Moonlight

[KIM]
Tomorrow will be the full moon
I can bring friends to bless our room
With paper unicorns and perfume
If you want me to

[CHRIS]
Unicorns? sure. . .

hanakin,

Interesting interpretation. I'll give you a quick synopsis of the meeting and then try to see if it's shown in the chart:

We met in the laundry room. When i first saw him it was like someone jolted me with a stun-gun. INSTANT infatuation-- on my part anyway. It became a game of eye-tag; I was constantly glancing over at him, just to meet his eyes glancing at me. We didn't say much to each other, and even now when we see each other not very many words are exchanged. The communication is growing, however. Most of the time we just lock eyeballs. Who needs words when you've got body language!

Concerning the chart, you mentioned someone being dominant over the other-- that would be him dominating me. I'm always the first one to break away from the stare down. We met in the laundry room (6th house Mercury) and the communication was null (Saturn in 3rd house, squaring Mercury).

The instant infatuation on my part could be Moon (Me) sextile Uranus? He's Mars in the first opposing Venus (Me again?) in the 7th (showing that i'm the person looking for a serious commitment/partner)? Not sure what Mars in the first would make him...

Venus and Sun conjunct, trining Saturn could show the slow progression of the relationship? The steadiness? A great deal is going on in the 7th house which perhaps shows the emphasis on a serious relationship? I see him everywhere now, and in fact, i'm off to do some laundry.

Yes I am thinking Pisces might be more fitting, even though this ASC degree may be off by a few minutes.

...And thank you, hanakin, for interpreting my chart(s).

hanakin -

You are quite skilled. Skilled enough for a FIRST MEETING CHART CHALLENGE? I think, yes!

One of these is for a female friendship. The other is for a male-female love relationship. Can you see which is which?

Both times are accurate. However, it's possible the chart with a 0 degree Scorpio Asc is really 29 deg Libra.

Once you're well rested, here are the charts:

Jane,

this task looks difficult.

Hanakin,

if you still are in the mood: how would you describe this first meeting?

Yes!! As a double Cap he did require a bit of stalking in the beginning.

quote:

Yep, still chugging along.

Meta

quote:
Interesting how you have Moon in the 3rd-- did you talk about feelings?

No we didn’t talk about feelings. I did wonder about the 3rd house moon but he lived very close to me so that would fall under 3rd house/neighbours.

One thing I have just noticed with this chart and it may just be a random coincidence is both the axis in this chart are within 2° of our respective Asc/Dc axis.
He is a Cap Asc /Can Dc and I am a Aries Asc/Libra Dc.

It may even be impossible!

If it is, hanakin here's a hint: look to the Moon.

The guessing game is just for fun. What I'm really interested in is your interpretation of the meetings.

Hey guys, Hanakin.

I have Question.
What if you've never met someone in person yet...but have been video/chat conferencing (ie. skype) regularly? Where you'd actually get a good impression/sense of how someone is in person. Does that count as first meeting too?
