I forget that you and I have somewhat similar charts. Same rising/DC and MC/IC (my IC is intercepted though, and sometimes comes off as Leo on my IC)

Is it his Saturn square your MC/IC? I presumed it might be, in which case it would feel like a Moon(IC)/sq Saturn or Saturn sq Saturn...which would be heavy and maybe icky but still glue-y, and feeling like a Moon square Saturn. That can feel weird and repressive. Moon sq Saturn feels more 'obligatory' and at times harsh to me somehow, even more than Sun/Saturn square. I've had a couple of weird Moon/Saturn friendships which had attraction which felt constipated lol.

Or is it his MC/IC sq your Saturn?

what kind of orb would you use for the eclipses?

I have my MC at 8 Cap and IC at 8 Cancer and this cycle is always a little to the left of me and a little to the right of me.

july 7th 09 at 15 cap
dec 31st 09 at 10 cancer
jun 26 10 at 4 cap
1 Jul 2011 at 9 cancer

(sorry for the derail)

MVM,

It's my MC being squared by his saturn. I forgot we had similiar angled charts.

I don't know, but I guess the saturn square my MC/IC could be a glue factor. Maybe the yods in composite are too.

He throws a lot of planets into my 12th house as well. That's supposed to be "karmic."

EKF:

the january eclipse would be in orb. Usually it's up to 5 degrees, but the tighter the orb the better.

"Raymond,

It seems like it will be significant for you. I think you will marry around that time. Just a feeling."

I don't know. I don't see anything that reflects a marriage

transiting Uranus will be squaring my Sun/Moon midpoint at the time

Maybe it could be about my future nonprofit neurodiversity organization.

I see a Moon square Saturn less than 1 degree

I see a Sun square Saturn around 7 degrees which is a bit wide for the orbs that I use.
I use a 5 degree orb.

Yes, but I would think that one measley square wouldn't be enough. I've seen people tell other's that they didn't have enough saturn contacts when they had more than one.

I also don't count the sun sq. sat due to the orbs.

Raymond,

It probably will be your ND endeavor but I think you'll also meet someone.

One 'measly' Saturn contact is enough, believe me. Especially a Moon/Saturn square as close as that one. I don't care what other people say. And Moon/Saturn sq is a doozy too.

Also, I would count that Saturn/Sun square. I had one 7-8 degrees wide with my ex-husband and I felt that. I have a peregrine sun though - anything on my Sun I can feel. But I STILL think it counts regardless, and for me the reason why is that Saturn is not a 'soft' planet, so I think with the harder planets like Pluto , Saturn, and Mars, you'll feel their presence more strongly even with wider orbs.
That's just me, however.

Diana, my ex-husband and I had only two aspects with Saturn - that wide square on my sun, and my Saturn opposed his Venus (which he also had in his own natal chart). Of course it didn't 'last forever' but it was obviously long term and committed.
It ended because I walked away, but the commitment part of it was very much intact up until the bitter end lol

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your story. Maybe it is enough. Maybe it's enough for a friendship to last forever.

I had a relationship with mutual Mars square Saturn, and that's just one Saturn bit.
You think that thing lasted forever?
Oh heck no!

I agree with planets on angles, they tend to keep your interest. ASC/DSC rulers in aspect etc., Nodes across the axis as well. And important too are continuing aspects with progressed charts, shows that you're still relevant to each other.

Lonake,

We always have, and had, links to progressed and natal, progressed and progressed.

His P.sun is right on my n. AC now. His p.mars is on my n.ven and has been (and will be) forever because his p.mars rx'ed. His p. moon is on my NN. What else....my p.Moon is on his p.merc. That's all I can remember off the top of my head. But out of curiosity I looked through the years and there's always been a link somewhere. I think that could be it.

So many strong aspects. Sun conj Asc is nice and lively so that should bring new energy to the relationship. He should have a stronger understanding of you now too as I just read the other pg where you posted prev. difficulties with this friendship.

"Also, I would count that Saturn/Sun square. I had one 7-8 degrees wide with my ex-husband and I felt that. I have a peregrine sun though"

That Sun square Saturn is actually a Sun triundecile Saturn.

When a square gets to 8 degrees, it runs into the 11th harmonic aspect called the triundecile which has an angle of 98'10.

Astrologers that use wide orbs would notice my Mercury square Mars of 7'33 orb applying.

But

harmonic-oriented astrologers like David Cochrane would notice that it's a Mercury triundecile Mars with 37 minutes of arc separating, and part of 11th harmonic aspect pattern with Uranus,Saturn, and Ascendant.....and if they are open to transneptunians, with Sedna as well.

Wide orb using astrologers would notice that my mother has Mercury square Neptune with 7'58 orb applying

but

Harmonic-oriented astrologers would notice that she has Mercury triundecile Neptune with 12 minutes of arc separating.

My mom's thinking style is imaginative, thinks mainly in pictures, visualizing things nonstop just like I have that way of thinking with Neptune in 3rd,Mercury parallel Neptune,Mercury conjunct Sun/Neptune midpoint, and Right Ascension Mercury square Geocentric South Neptune Node.

Maybe 11th harmonic aspects and other esoteric aspects can be felt in synastry.

David Cochrane said the following:

"Few astrologers use this aspect so there is little information on its meaning. I have been using minor aspects for over 30 years, and I believe that any aspect that has 11 in the denominator is very unstable, erratic, impatient, and rebellious. In the 1960's, therefore, the inner drive and compulsion to achieve ideals was unstable, erratic, impatient, and rebellious."

"The 11th harmonic aspects are unstable and impatient."
http://www.astrologyhome.com/articles/minor_aspects.htm

I think the following is a valid question about esoteric aspects work in synastry:

If they work in natal, why not synastry, transit, secondary progression, and return charts?

I'd use no more than 1 degree orb for the esoteric aspects

except quintile,biquintile which I'd give 1 1/2 degree

Lonake,

Hmmm, maybe. That would be nice. I will let you know if it happens.

Raymond,

That's all very interesting. You may be onto something there.
