Would you say this rings true.. astrologically?

When you have several conjunctions with someone is there a feeling of being repelled?
Do these people put you off in a sense.. or push you away?

And alternatively when you have several oppositions - are you more likely to be attracted and magnetized together?

Yes, I have sun conj sun, moon conj moon and Asc conj asc with another person and most of the time we are argue and butt heads but I always see people say moon conj moon, we should be emotionally intune with one another...it's rare! lol

It depends on your level of self acceptance. People who are very like us are our mirrors. They can be a version of ourselves that we can look up to... or a version of ourselves that demonstrates what we would be like if we gave up and gave in to our vices. Or they can be a person who sometimes exhibits parts of ourselves that others don't like in US as well, and it might bother us when they do that (we might not even know that is what is happening), and they can also portray our positives (that others might like in us as well) and we will feel a kinship and understanding in those cases.

People seem to be initially attracted to opposites, but then a power struggle ensues as both try to change the other into someone more like themselves. This is good in a way and creates growth in both... more growth if both are aware and willing to learn, but growth just the same if they spend years fighting it out... but the fighting will create a resistance to the different approaches in the future.

Just some rambling thoughts...

You said "astrologically" so I wanted to add that I was thinking of two of my friends with the exact same birth date as me when I was rambling. One same year and one younger.

i don't find this to be true other than with magnets.

astrologically, i do tend to be friends with lots of Cancers (im a Cap) but i'm friends with even more Virgos, and not so much with Taurus even though Taurus is opposite my Venus and ASC.

in the everyday world, i do not gravitate toward people who i know are my opposite other than gender. i don't get along with people who are the opposite of me. though my group of friends is diverse, we all have lots in common ..more than differences.

I think it depends on the planets, and the energies. I don't really like Sun/Sun conjunctions (especially because Aquarian Egos are based on individuality...) but I like Moon/Moon and Venus/Venus conjunctions.

Depends on the opposition.

I think both attract but just on different levels.
The conj due to pts of similarity and familiarity.
The opps due to fascination.

Both can turn to mush,
the conj can feel stale after a while
and the opps can lead to a stalemate experience where neither wants to give in.

For me it's conjunctions, gimme lots of those and grand trines too. Thats not asking too much.

It probably depends on the planets aspects that are conjoined. I know someone that has their Birthday 3 weeks after mine, so pretty much are Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are conjunct. I felt very compatible with him and it seemed like I had always known him and I can go months without speaking to him and everything seems the same.

Conjunctions glues us together while oppositions draw us together and we can separate at anytime...

Moon conj moon is heaven to me. I find that other pisces annoy me no end (including me). However, I can't even count how many Scorpio + Taurus couples I know and Cancer + Capricorns as well.

I like Virgos fine but the others I mentioned, it's like they have radar to detect each other. I notice too, that fixed signs like each other more than other modalities.

Not really, I don't like people that are too opposite of me. I married one and it went straight to hell in a handbasket. Great sex though. I think that's what hooked both of us.

I do love my current moon/moon conjunction with my guy. It's heavenly, though a little difficult at times to not get caught up in what we call 'an empathy loop' lol.
We also have conjunct asc/dcs, and Mars. But there are still enough differences in our charts to make for 'arguments' (there are squares and oppositions, some)...just not ones about personal, important stuff so far, about basic beliefs etc.

I think Sun/Sun conjunctions are highly overrated. I mean, you can be friends and all... but I want a friendship with romance and commitment, and I don't think that can be determined by something as simplistic as sun signs (wouldn't it be great if it were lol). I had married someone whose sun trine mine and we still wanted to stick forks in each other's heads after a couple of years. We were not 'similar' in essence, regardless of what people may say about 'harmonious suns'. We were completely and utterly different. Square moons, Mercuries square by sign. Plus, a Capricorn with a lot of Uranus squares who has no idea how to channel that energy is just scary and not in a sexy way.

I think people can be VERY different from one another on the exterior level (tastes, aesthetics, etc) - but having the same basic and core beliefs about life, love, etc...that's pretty damn important. Those are The Non-Negotiables. I want someone with whom I don't have to think about too much compromise over those very core things, you know? Because after the bells and whistle of magnetic attraction from something which is attractive BECAUSE it's 'opposite' , it can get really old and annoying...and downright draining.

My Venus sextile Venus with my ex did nothing and we did not, as is sometimes said like similar things at all. We had vastly different tastes and fought about it. He had lame taste anyway.
Yet my Venus square Venus with my guy now is odd because .... we like the same stuff! Huh ? I don't think too much about it because isolated aspects are crap I think. You have to look at the whole thing to get a feel for it.
Besides, he hates sushi and oysters, two things I love. Maybe that's the square

I am a walking opposite, Virgo Sun/Pisces Moon and my interests in life usually have either their Sun square their Moon or their Moon square the Ascendent. Gawd knows for whatever reason but I find myself highly attracted to those aspects because the people who have them give off this sort of tension and drive, a drive for inner truth and balance and well, I just find that hella sexy lol.

Conjuctions/Similarites are good too and I somewhat understand the energy of oppositions from being an Opposition person but I still find myself annoyed by them and myself at times.

..But I really like some driven tense squares that get me riled up in a synastry, there something so raw about squares in synastry..like bare bone raw that I like, almost primal and this is probably has to with the fact I have little to no squares in my chart except maybe Pluto to my Leo stellium but I think the orbs are too wide...o.o

Like I have Mars square Mars and Moon sqaure Mars with that close friend of mine that I never shut up about lmfao..I could pratically eat his arse alive one day if I wasn't on this self/education/Pluto 1st house journey.

I & my x had similar stuff in our charts.

em an aqua asc(uran conj nept in 12H).
he's a pisces asc(uran conj nept in 11H).
my moon conj his sun.
my pSun opp his nMoon.

there's a whole lot of other conj/opp with our angles/nodes & in our draco synastry.

noone understood why we were together. our composite has aqua asc & they thought of us as "weird,diff"....we're totally opposite on the exterior. he's shy, sweet, hardworking while i am noisy,lazy,rude.....i childishly argued a lot coz i needed time which he couldn't give due to various restrictions. All the boundaries had dissolved & there were sweet, caring, loving feelings. He's the only guy i've eva loved.

I view oppositions as opportunities to try to achieve harmonic balances. Challenging at times yes, but worthy of the effort. Also, effortless at times, due to the law of polarity with magnetic attraction. To me, balanced give and take is beyond equality and symmetry... it means I like apples and you like oranges, so hey, fantastic we both like fruit!

I deal with lots of polarity in my natal and my long term relationship (27 yrs) has quite a few strong polarities. So yes, managability depends on the soul's evolutionary aspects. My husband and I don't want to conquer one another, as we are constantly supportive of each other's personal growth. (Everyone's growth for that matter) Yes, we still fall and knock each other (and others) down at times, as we are by no means perfect. Here is where our humanness can practice the virtues of forgiveness, humility, acceptance of differences etc... Not the easiest soul work for certain.

I'm a Pis/Virgo Asc./Tau.Mn
He's a Vir/? Asc./Cap. Mn
My Venus Aqua opposes his Venus Leo
His Sun opposes my Mars
My Saturn opposes his Sun
...and many others...
(I'm glad his Mercury is in Leo, as I probably couldn't stand it if he was as picky and critical as me. LOL We don't work well together at tasks side by side. Knowing this truth, we joke about it and try to work this out as best we can.)

Easy no, possible yes.
Maybe one of our saving graces is I'm an 8 and he's a 7.
Who knows...roses do have thorns...and we could always improve our communication skills for sure, especially being mutable communicators.
Incidentally, my most difficult relationship was with a Pisces male, a 4 vibration.

I think the opposite rings true for me. I noticed I get on great with people who have a few conjuncts with my 4 planets in Sag, or even my planets in Scorpio and in Capricorn.

The opposite, Taurus, Gemini and Cancer I do get on with, but I wouldn't miss them if they'd leave.

For some reason I'm most attracted to squares. I love the challenge of Aquarius suns!

My take:
Opposites attract but once you've learnt to accept yourself, then you will be attracted to those much more similar..

For instance, my childhood and YA was filled with opposite people to my sun, and I realised once I met my likeness I need no more of the opposition friction..

I wouldn't recommend opposites for marriage, ever (for cardinal signs). . . just short term spark and die. Mutables may be slightly different.

hmmm well i used to be attracted to opposites and i married one.
Now they repel me and i am attracted to similar people.

The worst aspect for me emotionally is moon opp my moon. the best is moon cj or trine my moon.

This is interesting for me since I am a walking opposition like Chesire Kat (Cancer sun/Cap Ascendant)

It might depend on what stage of life you're in?

I had a difficult relationship with my Cancer dad (who has ALOT of the same placements as me: Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn) growing up, but he has his own issues too. but recently I've made some really mystical, mostly friendshipy, connections with Cancer guys. In this case its the chart that counts, and the maturity level of either of people involved too. There's an automatic empathetic 'knowing' between me and other Cancers in general but with even a few bad squares and one person who's not all together, it can turn into hypersensitive ugliness.

I also seem to find affinity with alot of geminis with Cancer placements which makes sense since I am very mercurial.

Overall though, I don't think sun/sun connections should be overlooked....it just depends on the sign placement. What one sign might find boring, two Sags might find adventure, Two pisces or two cancers might find their own new world, etc.

As for Opposites, I've always gotten along well with Capricorn girls....but I don't recall ever being attracted to Capricorn guys...even for friendship. In fact at one point, alot of them repelled me. These days I'm just completely neutral about them.

I do still seem to attract pisces moons though.

mermaid26:
i like that pt...!

my friend of 7 years is a gem & em a sag. she's the only person i argue with 24/7. we actually enjoy getting on each others nerves. everything we do is unusual.
when we meet @ the beginning of the day we go like "oh!!!!i missed u..i missed u shoo much...long time no see...u know how miserable i've been" & there it turns into an argument.

that's "our" definition of fun.

then there's this sag frnd who has similar placements.
sag sun,merc,venus,mars
scorpio pluto,jupe
cap uranus,nept
aqua saturn
asc- unknown.

her pisces moon opp my virgo moon...
she's such an emotional person while em pweety insensitive.
our defo of fun's kinda diff. i dramatize while she keeps things simple/d way they're supposed to be. she gets serious fast whereas i hardly do.......................

Great replies everyone!

MysticMelody - that is a really good way to explain it

I posted this thread initially because I realized I feel repelled by Aries Mercury men.

Usually I avoid targeting specific placements - but it's become too much of a pattern now. The anger (annoyance..) I feel towards them is worse when they have feminine sun signs (Taurus or Pisces). Which is pretty ridiculous - astrologically (since I'm an Aries Sun w. a Pisces Mercury and quite possibly a Taurus Venus).

I get bothered by the fact that they can dish it, but they cannot take it.
They also seem to think that *only* men can/should "tease".. and women should sit there looking pretty, twirlling their goldie lock hair, laughing at their *not so funny*, but usually nasty - jokes.. occasionally letting them know just how witty they are.. and how they have star-quality..

I react badly to these guys.. I usually end up hurting them because I dish something back and they get offended..

*sigh*

It just annoys me.

It's strange because I end up having to co-exist with them and I have a desire to make things work but they just aggravate me.

I think it differs from person to person
And it also depends on age

Conjuction is good for those who're nearly 100% satisfied with themselves. But there're probably not many who nearly 100% like themselves. Just take Lara for example, she is of strong Aries personna but she hate Aries. And I seldom like people who is of the same sun or moon sign as me unless there're midpoint connections.

The attraction power of Opposition is superb. I used to be attracted to those whose venus or mars oppose my venus or mars rather than Conjunction. However, I might have changed a little bit now as I'm growing older and won't seek for that obvious and stimulating attraction.

I think Trine is often underrated compared to Conjunciton. Trine makes someone begin to love himself or herself, and thus has the ability to love others. If a person just hate that facet of himself or herself then Conjuction could bring about disaster. From an empirical point of view, I find the happiest couples are usually those with Trine energy instead of Conjunction energy. However, my experience is limited.

I think it would be very interesting to conduct a research to see the relation between Aspects and Age. I suppose people would learn to accept and love themselves more as they age and thus would prefer Conjunction, while teenagers would find Opposition very significant.

vapor lash:
misunderstanding.
"i like apple.u like orange.we both like fruit"
those are mermaid26's lines.

i've neva encountered a guy who thinks only men have the right to chase women. but i've known men who think such women are hoes. my parents(mom- scorpio sun, taurus moon & dad-gem sun, taurus moon, taurus asc) think men should intitate courting.

when a guy catches my interest,i don't mind chasing him. I play hard while playing flirt. i askd my ex out coz that virgo sun, cancer moon, pisces asc would've taken years.

i don't attract a lot of oppositions.
mostly people who have their sun/moon/asc in aqua, virgo, sag.
(friends/hve close ties with)
1 aqua sun/virgo moon(closest of all)
1 scorpio/virgo moon
1 taurus/virgo moon
1 scorpio/aqua moon
2 sag sun(one of em has pisces moon)
4 more aqua sun
1 virgo sun/sag asc

em a sag sun,virgo moon,aqua asc.
opp's a gem frnd & dad.
a guy who's interested in me is a pisces/sag moon.
anotha's a gem.

in my case,likes mostly attract.

oh no no -- Depth.. I was saying guys with Aries Mercury think only men have the right to *tease* women.. not *chase*.

*Tease* as in playful verbal banter.. which in their case is more so *nasty* than playful.

I'm not a chaser romantically at all, but I *can* tease and joke around. If someone teases me - I assume it's ok to tease back.
But not with these guys.

They have a monopoly on playful teasing.

If you dare tease *them*, they whinge about it behind your back. All of the sudden it isn't a joke anymore.

I was saying - they kind of expect women to be more *plain* or more *serious*.. and simply sit there and laugh at their jokes.

But I'm not at all plain and I have a lot to say.. which they don't expect.. and which seems to annoy them.

I then get angry at their annoyance.

Sorry if this ^^ got confusing lol

disclaimer: yes I know they are not all like that. I know. I have in mind three specific men - one Pisces and two Taurus.
