Okay, where do I begin?

First two aspects are with a Gemini who lives overseas right now and is just a friend, but he is very good looking. Everytime I talk to him.....the conversation is FANTASTIC, never a dull moment, we have alot in common, and we both really appreciate eachother's humor. I think the Mercury-Venus description was so accurate in pinpointing that (I have the double whammy conjunction with him: His Venus in Cancer conjuncts my Mercury, and my Venus in gemini conjuncts HIS mercury).

Now, for the bad news: The Sun-Moon square totally highlights why anything more than friends would NEVER work between him and I. He's the Sun person who squares my Virgo Moon. Its the most exact aspect that I have with him, and your description was right on the money again. Even if we do have much in common....our Worldviews/Outlooks clash pretty badly. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who's sensitive to it. It's both a combination of cultural differences (he's Portuguese and I come from a former Portuguese Colony....yeah, bad news.), and just personal differences. If I get into the whole cultural biz I'd have to write an entire page, but personally speaking....sometimes I find his outlook a bit selfish/apathetic and I'm just like: Okay, do you really not care about what surrounds you?

Okay, the Venus-Jupiter one was something I had with another person I knew back at home (I was Venus and he was Jupiter). Errr, there was a bit of an age difference but I really enjoyed being in class with this guy....and he was very handsome. =__= Me, him, and a friend would have coffee with him in the Cafe inside school after our 9am Psych class and it was nothing but laughs and long insightful conversations. He was super nice and warm. I kind of wish I wasn't concerned about what my family would have thought just went for it....oh well. *sigh*

I have Venus conjunct Neptune, so in all I should be very romantic - or at least a hopeless romantic, idealist in love. That is true, to an extent. I am a sucker for knights in shining armour and for charmers (when there are no knights available), but like I said, I take my partners for granted:

I never say "I love you", I never buy gifts, I never surprise them and I never celebrate Valentine's day. I have a knack for buying the most unromantic gifts for valentine's, leading me to believe that I just don't know what romance is.

It's no different in this relationship, I'm afraid. I do buy gifts to surprise my boyfriend with, but I do that for everyone: it's just when I see something I think someone I know would like, I buy it for them. Then again, my boyfriend is no more romantic than I am. I think we both probably lack romantic bones in our bodies.

We both do love our freedom, but I hate to say the only really passionate person in our relationship is my boyfriend. I blame my cold Mars in Capricorn and 2nd house. And I'm the honest one in our relationship. Then again... Mercury in 1st house! I can't lie because I blurt out the truth faster than... emm... my shadow

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we both have quite a lot of stressful aspects, so maybe that drowned our Venus trine Venus qualities a bit...

OK - guys - actually GIRLS lol.. I don't think anyone else is answering this. I think Lara and depth forgot about it. So I'll just let you know..

I was having some problems with the Sun-Merc conjunction in synastry. But ALL Sun-Mercury interpretations are extremely positive. I was kind of thinking about my problems with these people.. and I realized they were very ego related. My ego - that is!! lol

So I remembered I'd read that aspects can be interchangeable.. For example in a natal chart - Mercury in Pisces, Mercury in the 12th House, Mercury in aspect to Neptune -- could all lead to similarities. I also remember reading something along these lines about synastry.. For example Venus-Jupiter being similar to a Libra-Sag relationship.

I can't find this online atm But I'm sure I read it somewhere. This was not my idea, just something I recalled.

So I thought it would be a good idea to test the theory with you guys. All of the interpretations I posted are mainly from novareinna.com - and they are all Sun Sign 2 Sun Sign interpretations. I altered them to sound as though they were planetary aspect interpretations..

e.g. For a Venus-Mars conjunction.. I used the Libra-Aries interpretations.

This can be a bit difficult because not everything fits. A lot depends on the aspect. A Venus-Pluto trine is different to a Venus-Pluto square.. So I couldn't just paste Libra-Scorpio OR Taurus-Scorpio... for both. For the trines and sextiles I posted the MOST positive things I could find. For the conjunction I posted a mix of positive and negative. For the opp and square I posted mainly negatives - ALL taken from the Sun Sign interps.

In my opinion this doesn't always work perfectly, but it works pretty often. The Leo-Gemini interpretation described my Sun-Mercury problems well. I'm still not sure whether it works all that well for angles.

A majority of people seemed to like it on this thread.. so I guess there must be something to it!!

So there you go! That was the idea LOL
Thank you all for replying and assessing your interpretations

Aw No Worries!
Thanks for taking part Ami

I honestly didn't think this would get such positive feedback. Maybe the reason I personally found it *more* accurate than traditional interpretations is that there are BOTH positives and negatives.

GOOD Sun sign interpretations - like the ones on novareinna.. give people several possibilities both positive and negative.

In aspect interpretations I don't find as much variety.

For example.. Mars-Saturn interpretations in synastry are almost always negative. Sun-Mercury are always positive.

Spot on, hun. Those were really good interpretations, where did you get them from?

Esp the Mars trine Pluto about it being a slow dance, taking ages etc. So true. Try nearly 3 years!!

Thanks heaps, babe. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that for me and everyone else on here. It would have been pretty time consuming so I'm very grateful

I take my partner for granted and expect him to always be happy to see me, to just join me in my little "adventures" (i.e. mad things I didn't really think through but have to do or will die) and in the mean time uphold their social status etc.

I'm pretty demanding.

I basically see my partner as a friend with benefits. Sometimes I do need physical contact but when it comes to hugs, I can get just as much pleasure out of being hugged by a friend or family as I get from being hugged by my partner. I view hugs as a stand-alone thing. I need hugs when I feel scared or uncomfortable, anyone can hug me, but I don't need hugs when I want intimacy with my partner.

Basically I see a partner as someone to procreate with. Nothing else. And, well, practicing the procreating business

I don't say I love someone when I do because I generally take them for granted, and I used to have a partner who forced it out of me, making me even less likely to say it now because of the negative connotation it got after that relationship.

I'm also pretty much a commitment phobe. I think I've mentioned it a few times before, but when I'm in a relationship I am very creative when it comes to ways to get a man running miles away from you. I pretend to be clingy, I act crazy, anything so I can push him as far away from me as possible so I get some breathing space.

When a man manages to get through that phase and he is too clingy, I dump him. When he gets through that phase and he's normal, I just get used to him.

Vapor,

That is exactly what I suspected you were doing (and you might even heard me babbling about the "astrological alphabet" - Venus=2nd house= Taurus and so on; I think I first read it in a book by Mc Evers / March and they quoted Zipporah Dobyns)

But tell me how did you know when to pick Taurus and when to pick Libra for the Venus, and the same with Virgo / Gemini?

Benedict - Yes that was Cancer Leo - It was only the things in Cancer - Leo I saw fitting for the square..

Diablo - www.novareinna.com - constellation chamber.. As I said they are all in Sun Sign format. In places I couldn't use novareinna and I used other sites. I will put up links to everything this week sometime.

DD - lol I knew you knew hehe

I think it would be best to combine and use both signs, but I didn't always have the time.

For Venus-Mars sextiles and trines - I think the most positive aspects of both Libra-Aries *and* Taurus-Aries would count.

For Venus-Mars oppositions and conjunctions - I think Libra-Aries would surface a *lot* But some of the Taurus-Aries positives & negatives could come up.
In my experience the conj and opp here have some very enticing positive points... and also.. some serious problems. I find the conjunction more *similar* to the opposition rather than the trine-sextile.

I feel the same way about Mercury. I would use both signs in combination.

This gets difficult with a square. For example.. Mercury square Mars..
Gemini and Aries are friendly signs. Virgo and Aries are neither here nor there llol
But if you are looking at a square aspect you'd have to put more emphasis on the negatives in those interpretations.
