How would you describe your dressing style?
Do you associate your love for particular clothes, shoes, makeup, hairdo with your Sun, Moon or Rising? Maybe particular aspects?

I'll start.

Sag Sun, Libra Moon, Aqua Rising

I usually go for comfort. Anything that feels good, soft materials, primarily cotton. (Saggie)
I don't pay close attention to attire for days and days at the time. Jeans and t-shirts do it for me. As long as they are clean. Hair in a ponytail.

When I decide to get glammed up, then it's all about the frilly dresses or skirts with very feminine jewelry and my hair down. Oh, and really subtle expensive makeup. Love perfumes too! The scents have to be subtle as well. Currently I'm wearing something that smells like cherry blossoms. (Libra Moon?)

My Rising used to come out as fashion faux pas. Pink shirt with orange pants anyone? I am very aware I do these things though, so when in doubt, I just don't mix stuff like that anymore.

Also I'm incredibly thrifty when it comes to clothes for some reason. I hate shopping - it takes me hours to decide what to get. Have been considering getting a personal shopper. OK, maybe I can't afford that. But if I could it would definitely make things easier for me.

Why do we even have to wear clothes?
(Aqua Rising here)

Yes, I know - dumb article but it was one of the better ones out there. LOL.
quote:
Fashion guide according to your zodiac sign

Posted on 18. Mar, 2010 in Beauty specialists, Fashion Tips

Have you tried dressing according to your Zodiac sign? Not only is it fun but it best represents your personality. Spring is here, and it’s time to cultivate a little romance. So, I thought “how about a fashion “menu” according to their zodiac sign?

Aries:
Arians are trendsetters in fashion and clothing. They have a good taste but can sometimes look ridiculous with their wears .They have liking for sexy and bold styles to draw attention towards them. For men, narrow trousers with traditional white shirt with cufflings would certainly look great and can boost their confidence. For women, the most modern look would be knee length shirt or black tight trousers with well-fitted shirt.

Taurus:
Your clothes must feel comfortable and feminine but they must also be appropriate for whatever role you are playing when wearing them. It’s likely that you’ll be tempted to go for a sexy sultry style but you have to be very carefully while dressing up. You have to combine your choice of color and fabric with comfort and femininity which will make you comfortable, whether at work or play. Wear rich dark colors at the beginning of the year and the dark blues to purples will work surprisingly well for you later on. Your shape is soft and feminine and your star sign colors are red lemon mix, blues and pinks.

Gemini:
Anything goes here! Gemini’s dual personality favors all kinds of looks and styles. Gemini’s closets is brimming with outfits for every occasion. They love color and funky styles that are youth oriented. Gemini enjoy wearing a worn pair of sexy blue jeans with a tank top just as much as they love to dress up in a velvet evening gown or black tie tux. The part of the body that Gemini rules are the hands so, bangle bracelets and pretty rings are some of their cherished accessories. Gemini also have a weakness for purses.

Cancer:
The beautiful, feminine white blouses available now should warm your heart, Cancer. Pair them with one of the new fitted and flared ankle-length skirts or a simple pair of jeans for an uncluttered look. An embroidered, pastel peasant top and long skirt belted at the hip would suit you nicely, as would a sultry, scoop-neck, above-the-knee floral dress with scalloped hem in a luscious ice cream shade, with metallic sandals.

Leo:
You are confidence personified. Your style has a regal air about it and it shines with brilliance, serenity and confidence. Your shape is striking, angular and flowing, helping to enhance that wonderful natural royal quality you possess and your star sign colors are golden or red. Dark shades compliment you royal style and you will be surprised at the impact it causes on your lifestyle.

Virgo:
Virgos are quick to spot with that prim and proper look. They wear the most revealing clothes or daring clothes and can look sensational even in casuals. For men, button down collar shirt with black tie would make most women weak in legs. For women, sleek matching pant suit with T shirt tops would look fantastic. The purity and sacredness of white color add appeal to their virginal looks. Intricate hand-painted designs and delicate embroidery work on dresses make them look sensational. They should avoid wearing huge or junk pieces of jewelery.

Libra:
Harmony in appearance is your keynote. You search for a style which can teach others ways of achieving balance. You believe in harmony and thus your fashion statement is to bring out beauty into your environment. Your shape is soft and flowing and your star sign colors are light to mid-blue, dark rose and black. Make the most of the lovely rich rose reds that are around in the early part of the year and the lilacs that are likely to appear throughout the summer because these colors will bring out the best in you.

Scorpio:
Women radiate seduction even in the simplest fashion pieces or outfits. If you are under the Zodiac sign Scorpio, try wearing a lacy camisole top or embellished blouse with lacy or ruffled details under a structured suit, which really brings out the sexy appeal of Scorpios.

Sagittarius:
No-fuss is your mantra, Sagittarius, yet you like to cut a dramatic figure. You’d look terrific all day long in a comfortable, ankle-length, fitted drop waist dress with wide, dolman sleeves. Also made for you are the new long jean skirts with patch pockets and flared silhouette, worn with a simple cotton peasant t-shirt trimmed in lace and belted at the hip. Your exotic eye would also delight in a new ruffled, sheer blouse.

Capricorn:
Goats are very serious about their wardrobe. They look for good quality clothing and often designer labels. They usually wear tailored clothing, suits and well fitted pieces. Gray, brown, tans, some blue and khaki are traditional Capricorn colors. They enjoy attention getting outfits but not the flashy fashions. Their briefcases and purses are status symbols and often will spend quite a bit of money for wallets and bags. They prefer comfortable, luxurious style clothing and would never think of going out in a pair of sweatpants unless they were a designer brand. Goats do not like rhinestones and glitz.

Aquarius:
The Zodiac sign Aquarius represents women who are free-spirited and rebellious. Aquarians can shift from style to style and still look good. An example would be a crochet dress with a tunic worn underneath best represents free spirited individuals like Aquarius women.

Pisces:
Pisces rules the feet and therefore many Fish absolutely adore shoes. Pisces of both sexes tend to have a closet full of shoes. Fish are the daydreamers of the zodiacs so the women look for romantic fashions; chiffons and shimmering materials. Many prefer to wear skirts and dresses over pantsuits. They adore jewelry and often wear too much at one time, adorning themselves with gold, silver and precious gemstones.

Funny I was thinking about this this morning as I was dressing! I'm a Sagittarius and definitely am with your comments as per comfort. I think the aspects that most define my style though are my venus/Uranus conjunction in the 9th conjunct my midheaven with Neptune not too far off in my 10th also conjunct my midheaven. I feel like these planets around my midheaven are what I want to show off or put on displays about myself. The Venus/Uranus in 9th- I love strange kind of kooky, bright but feminine things- especially from other countries. The Neptune in the 10th- I can't think of another way to describe this but wanting to have a somehow dreamy appearence... I don't know if my moon or asc has that much of an impact on how I dress- Im an Aries asc with Capricorn moon but I feel like those have more to do with how I come off socially.

Im really into fashion. Not just casually, i look at all the runway shows every fashion week and i can name almost every model in vogue, v, w, id, dazed and confused, etc. I tend to gravitate toward brands that are more "dark" or futuristic. Like Givenchy, Jil Sander, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens.

As for everyday stuff, I generally prefer comfort, yet still hip. Usually skinny jeans and a tshirt. I tend to wear black on black and prefer to wear gender neutral stuff. I also like to experiment with shape and silhouette. I dont usually wear a lot of jewelry, but lately Ive been really into huge rings or crucifix necklaces. I dont wear earrings, but I have my septum pierced (in between the nostrils).

I have Venus in Pisces in my 10th square Saturn and Uranus. Gemini Rising, Mercury in Aquarius.

Amowls, I was hoping you will post.
Wanted to tell you that I've know at least 3 Aquas in my life that have been interested in design are 2 of them are pursuing a career in fashion design.
I don't know where their Venuses are. Maybe there is an Aqua-Pisces or a Neptune-Uranus connection there.

staborgi, you said: I love strange kind of kooky, bright but feminine things. I can identify with that. In fact, I do pick up strange looking jewelry all the time only to see it as too loud the next day and have to take my time to get comfortable with it again. Comfortable enough to wear it that is.

I identify with the dreaminess too - Neptune exactly conj. Sun but it doesn't come out in the way I dress.

Sun Cancer, Moon Virgo, Asc Capricorn.

I relate more to my Venus sign (gemini) than any of the above 3. I have almost everything and anything in my closet and in a variety of colors. In everyday life I guess I do dress for comfort though (I almost always wear jeans), but I make sure its not boring.

And for a good chunk of my life, I had a strong aversion to wearing skirts/dresses. The only place I would do so was where it was manditory--->> at my Catholic Highschool.

It really depends on my mood, I guess.

I like t-shirts that say funny things, vintage shirts..sometimes I like vests, plaid, sometimes blazers over a tee, sometimes hoodies/jackets, sleeves that go to the elbows are nice as well.

I usually go for hip huggers..low rise something like that jeans with boot cut, in dark denim or faded. I am not really a shorts person or capris..therefore I burn up in the summer.

Shoes, I love shoes, I like wedges, sneakers, boots, flats whatever shoes are great.

Accessories, I think I like necklaces, chokers are still nice to me maybe outdated and simple band rings with the occassional bangle but not all together because I don't like to feel bog down in jewelry.

Colors, depends though neon makes me blind unless were raving.

Oh I forgot, I like sun dresses free and flowing.

And Im really a costumey person like wings and princess dresses..I guess that goes with being a renny or convention goer but I don't wear it in everyday life.=X

I am a Virgo Sun, Pisces Moon, Capricorn Rising, Venus in Leo conjuct Jupiter and Mercury.

Well, my Venus is in Sag, just like my Sun - hard to pick which one comes out

Something I noticed after the controversial thread on asteroids. Natal Modestia exactly squares natal Saturn. (As does natal Venus btw, only it's by 3 or 4 degrees) I've always swayed between ridiculous modesty and flashy in-your-face-look-at-me outfits.

Sundresses! Yes! I have an orange one, and a black one and a yellow one and a striped one...
Would love to get a white one that looks good on me. LOL. I'm pale as a ghost. White usually looks horrible on me.

Funny, every Aqua I've known has been a huge fashion wh0re
My mom, a double Aqua, was always paying up the wazoo for clothes, same with my grandmother. The Aqua boys I know are the same way.
And no, it's not 'weird' or 'eccentric' fashion, either. Just really expensive, or very quality stuff.

I have met a couple of Aqua slobs though fashionwise.

I personally don't care for fashion. The way material FEELS is more important to me, and as long as it is classic, sleek, and form-fitting. I hate wearing big clothes, or clothes that don't show my shape. I like form-fitting things, jeans, vintage dresses, anything classic which doesn't go out of style.
I think this is Taurus rising, Mars in the 1st house thing. The clingy clothes thing might be a Mars thing - I have Venus Scorpio and it opposes my 1st house, and opposes my Mars though my Venus/Mars have mutual reception. Shoes have to have heels. High heels, like 6 inches is normal for me. No heels make me feel all frumpy.
I also LOVE boots (again they need to be high-heeled unless they are genuine cowboy boots, which I also love). I don't do sneakers. I hate that I wear them to get around town more easily since I don't have a car anymore. Wearing sneakers makes me feel like a freakin' toddler. I don't like 'too casual' at all.

But I also wonder if my Capricorn MC might do it - Cappy is very into 'classic' stuff which doesn't go out of style. The Capricorn men I've known (well, most...there have been some terrible exceptions which is normal for everything lol) are excellent, snappy dressers, with a solid wardrobe. No douche-y clothes or any of that terrible fashion crap lol ... the women can also be awesome dressers, but I've seen Cappy women who wear really desperate looking clothes.

I'm
Virgo Sun
Aries Moon

Yin, you are pretty spot on.
Sag.- very "natural" fabrics, autumn colors, turquoise, natural gemstones
Libra - does this match? Colors - soothing pastels, secondary, the green and brown harmonies
Aqua. - who cares if it matches? Electric blue and ocean green.

Universal colors, supposedly everyone looks good in turquoise, coral, cream, and periwinkle blue.

Your Libra rising gifts you with exquisite taste in the fine feathery of clothing.
I'm with you though, as I can't stand restrictive and uncomfortable clothing. It's truly affects my mood as I'm so sensitive to its touch.

Pis. Sun, Vir. Asc, Taur Mn
I feel that I look best in sage green or washed pink and silver, and natural/real rock, real silver jewelry. My 8 vibration adds some classic conservatism. My work wardrobe was mainly black and navy.

The Aquas that are really into high fashion might have Cap Venuses. I have a 10th house Venus, so that's probably why I'm interested in it.

I also have a 5th house Libra Moon (dispositor is Venus of course) so that might factor in.

After I get my Bachelor's Degree I want to go to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) and learn how to be a stylist. My dream job is to be a fashion editor of a magazine or buyer for boutiques/department stores.

im a Virgo sun with taurus moon and libra asc.

what is my style?

pretty unique, and i love to appear inovative and sometimes a bit extravagant but always always in a good way,and with good taste.

for me dressing, the shoes the acessorizes are very important and incorporate the way i express myself as an individual.

love beauty, fashion and all that pertains to that: love shopping and i always find good prices for brand new clothes

yes i love the virginal and romantic looks with all the flowers, the romantic look that is now a trend for spring/summer.

i pretend to work in the fashion adviser area to be my full time payed job. i believe i have all that it takes to be sucessfull--who knows my moon and asc are strongly related to that.

I could of copied and pasted Yin's, except I don't wear pink and orange together. In fact, I hate pink!

When I'm home, I wear band t-shirts and jeans. My jeans can be skinny or flared, but I like them worn and holey. So they are really soft. This is a natural process, and cannot be store bought! So, I get very attached to the jeans I've worn out! I currently have two pairs in the closet with the a$$ end completely out, but I am still trying to figure out how to get away with wearing them...long shirts??

Anyway, when I go out, I look like Prince. lol. Paisley is my friend, I love paisley.
And long frilly sleeves, that unfortunately, drag in your food. OH well, the price you pay.

Yin, you don't wear nail polish do you? I have tried to picture you wearing it, and I can't. I've never seen a picture that your hands are in, so, I don't know.

I like lots of jewerly, long dangly earrings, or huge hoops. I wear a giant crucifx everyday.
I am wearing 6 rings right now, and all of them have sentimental value, as in, they belonged to someone who has died, (maybe that is an 8th house sun thing? IDK) makeup is not optional for night time outings, but optional for the day.
Especially at this time of year, because I am able to get very tan, and you don't need alot of makeup when you are tan.

I've got to add that this Pisces is not a shoe ***** . I love my Tevas all spring/summer and my Ariat cowgirl boots all fall/winter. The comfort factor wins here too. I'm more about well made, high quality shoes, over many pairs. Capricorn, Pisces, and Virgo are typically quality footwear conscious.
Now my husband will tell me it's not what a woman wears, it's the confidence of her being that's what is most attractive.

interesting. i would deffinately consider venus or in my case i guess its evident becuase my risings in taurus and my suns in libra. so my venus is conjunct the descendent in the 7th house conjunct pluto in scorpio. my suns conjunct mars so i would say that sorta adds in my liking for athletic like clothing. but ive always liked to wear comfortable clothing and the dark shades where i think scorpio/pluto comes in. i like deep colors like purple, maroons, forest greens i use to wear a lot of black. but i have lots of vibrant colors as well. i think my virgo moon gives me a modest tone so im not too flashy. i just wear jeans or tights and shirts/tank tops. nuthin much to it. i have some skirts and dresses too but there not at all dressy just cute. i like teni shoes and slip ons..dont like high heels there so uncomfortable! i dont get how girls can where those all the time their feet must hurt. i really like knitted clothing and earthy looking wears. especially any piece of clothing that has nice artwork on it!! ohhh i have many of those. with some sort of paint or watercolor look or sketches on it.

i have lots and lots of jewelry but ive been given necklaces since i was really young so i have a collection of stones, and just jewelry from africa to china/hongkong, malaysia.. etc. i have a lot of bracelets that are hand made and have jade or those ones with insects in them or just carved stones. i prefer the raw verses flashy or cut gems. i have many rings

i use to like darker eyemakeup shades when i was younger and now i sorta dont wear any or just wear mascara if i feel up to it. but iguess the more natural look is appealing or nize colors. i dont like really vibrant colors on my eyes at all. mainly i wear purples, browns golds. sometimes pinks.. greens.

i think with libra, aesthetic clothing is very appealing. colors and fine texture and if it looks nice. with taurus it has to feel good as well whether its on or just the touch.

Sun,Moon,Mercury,and Mars in Leo
Asc in Aries
Venus in Cancer

Well with all that fire I dress kinda masculine. I don't wear high heels, or get my nails done. OR do most of the "girly" things.

I do wear make up, but I only apply it once in the morning I never do touch ups. I dont even carry make up with me. Only maybe lip gloss bc my lips are very dry due to the weather.

I really think my Aries Asc plays a huge role in my dress. I wear Skinny jeans, with a nice shirt (ok a touch a feminine) no I dont dress like a man... lol... I wear vans everyday to work hey I gotta walk fast through the lots...lol...
I wear jewelry..earrings, bracelets, necklace. but they are silver and simple nothing gaudy. My jewelry is always the same.. I dont worry about changing them... LOL
My hair is usually up bc well my Aries doesnt have time to sit down and really fix it... This is in normal working days...
Well Im the "leo mgr" in a male dominate field, so Im only 1 of 3 women in my entire building....So wearing vans is "cool"

Its somewhat different when I go out. I wear boots, with jeans and a nice blouse.. same jewelry. I fix my hair better.... hahahahahhah

Great responses!
MVM, interesting statement on the high heels. I've always wondered how women get into heels. I like the way heels make your legs look elongated and all but I can't wear them - this Saggie trips a lot.
Sneakers are generally not my first choice - I think that has more to do with where I come from - sneakers are not acceptable footwear unless you are at the gym.
Funny about the "too casual" comment. I am never into it either. As casual as I am, I need to wear jeans with some flair and I don't own any zip-up hoodies.

Mermaid, my Pisces friend puts a lot of thought into even her most casual outfits and she always has some unusual piece of jewelry on or a head band or whatever strikes her fancy at the time. I find it endearing.
I can't say I like blue or turquoise all that much. I prefer green. And Red
I look better in dark colors - black, brown, burgundy...

Gypsee - no, I don't do nail polish. I need help! LOL.

I love love love earrings but for some reason rarely wear any. In fact, I am not wearing any jewelry right now. There is that Saturn-Modestia square showing up again.
I have a weird relationship with clothes. Not only do I want them to be non-restrictive but often I wish I didn't have to wear any at all.

BeholdAstarte, would you be my fashion guide?
I love everything you wrote!

Lioness, you and me both don't do the "girly" things. Only I feel I need to do more of them.

I don't know what to associate my sense of style (or lack thereof) with in my chart.

I have two favourite jackets (well, jackets... ): a brown leather jacket and a gray long winter coat. I generally wear denim trousers with flared legs, my tops used to be woollen jumpers and blouses, now they are breastfeeding tops and I can tell you, there's hardly any style in those! I always wear boots that go up to just under my knees, usually brown, sometimes black, always with some or other height of heel which is higher than normal shoes.

I like rich colours or soft colours, or colours from nature, but nothing too flashy - although I might wear it in one of my funny moods. Purple, green, brown, gray, wine red, soft pink, colours like those.

Lately I have grown a liking to bright pink and turquoise, but they both go well with natural colours, so maybe that's why I don't mind wearing those.

I have a pet peeve for colours that don't look natural together, so the fashion nowadays is something you won't find in my wardrobe.

As for style: I have (had) quite a few styles. When I was 18 I used to go around in punky style, but natural colours (it was interesting to see), now I'm more non-style (just basic, I don't have much of a choice), but generally my style always has something adventurous over it... I like adventure, so my clothes pretty much radiate that.

My hair is what makes me stand out among others generally: when I was 17 I always wore a bandana in my hair, kind of like a farmer girl (yeah, I was the only one who did it), then I put my hair up with dozens of little hair decorations and glittery pins, then I had pins in all colours to hold my hair back in several possible ways and which were there more for a fashion point of view than for actually holding my hair back, then I went to kind of a victorian hairstyle but modernised, ...

What I would never do is wear clothes that are blatantly branded, no matter how nice they look. I do wear All Stars every now ang again though. But they're classics, not just brands.

Hope this made sense, because it's very hard to describe my style.

The planets and/or aspects I think are to blame is first of all my 5th house ruler and my 5th house: 5th house is in Aries, needs to be in motion and my clothes represent that. Mars is in Capricorn and 2nd house which could explain the classical clothing style. Second my rising and uranus conjunct it. Mercury too, maybe, but I'm still trying to figure out how to fit it in. Uranus because I change my style like people change underwear and because I have a soft spot for punky clothes (the torn denim, tartan skirts and/or trousers, chains and belts, fishnet tops and stockings, ...), the Sag rising because my love for natural things is represented in my clothes and apparently that's a Sag rising trait.

Timeless stuff. Never follow trends unless you want to look like a fool in years to come. Pictures are going to be bad for sure!

Completely addicted to neutrals (capricorn) all my clothes look like these pieces (black, white, red, brown, navy/denim, gray). Mostly solids, fitted (leo), and covered up since I hardly show skin (capricorn). With jewelry it's minimal and a simple design, but mostly i just wear my watch and a bracelet (capricorn again). Pisces shows in the outfits cos they have a lil girly touch somewhere, like a ruffle, bow, or lace, and in this hairstyle which I'm in most of the time. With makeup it's black eyeliner every day (angular pluto?) never eyeshadow, and lips its only rose lipliner and clear matte balm.

yin- id love to. hehe.

lately ive really liked those short jumpers with the tank top and shorts combined.. those are so cute.

i dont really care about whats trendy but if i find something i like i dont really care if its trendy or not. i mean nowadays fashion isnt really like the 80's and 90's wear it was sorta goofier and more flashy. i cant see how taking a picture nowadays will show regret later in the years. its just how you were at that time. unless you were really flashy i guess..

My Spring/Summer Fashion:

In summer time I often wear clothes & accessories from Supre and Valley Girl. The pics bellow are all from Supre (the aussie girls will know what I'm talking about lol).. I love summery looks - blues, yellows, reds, whites. I often end up looking like a sailor. I wear stripped tops with skinny jeans & pants. Occasionally I throw in a skirt, but not often - usually only when I'm at the beach. I used to wear dresses and skirts a lot.. but I think I've changed. I'm all for pants now.

My Autumn Fashion:

My autumn clothes are mostly from from Jay Jays and Just Jeans - the 1st pic is a Valley Girl hoodie and the jeans are from just jeans (which again the aussie girls will know lol). I absolutely love the denim Just Jeans have. I like both skinny pants and boot-cut.. but for some reason when it comes to jeans I prefer boot cut lol I often wear jeans that are faded or have a pattern or writing on them. I wear lots of hoodies, usually white-black or grey. The hoodies are always a bit strange - never plain.. either the design or the color patterns.

My Winter Fashion:

In winter I wear long jackets, usually artificial leather. A few of the things I have are from Jaqui-E and Portmans (like the pics).. I prefer Jaqui-e though. I love boots, both over-the-knee ones and knee-highs. I like long tops and belts. The colours I wear in winter are pretty dark - black, brown, dark purple. I have a hat obsessions and it comes across more so in winter. I have a bunch of hats I love, in several colours.
