Topic: Chiron or Juno to signify marriage in synastry?

There's much debate in synastry at the moment as to whether the asteroid juno or the planet chiron is more important as an indicator of "true love" or a could be marriage. Traditional astrology dictates that juno is the traditional significator of what we look for in a partner, how we expect them to behave etc. Magi astrology balks at this and maintains that it is chiron that points to the soulmate and is the prime significator of marriage between two people. Magi says that juno linkages (aspects) between people in synastry indicates a sexual bond or mistress relationship only. What are your thoughts on this? Do you have mostly chiron or juno contacts with your spouse? I say spouse because we're not talking about long term relationships here, only the ones that end up with a marriage lolIP: Logged |

Well, there really isn't a lot of debate. Its really only the Magi Society that says this. I pay them no mind on this point. Some stuff they say is valid but I believe they are waaaay wrong on that one.To be honest, I don't even pay any attention to chiron at all as i've never felt its effects in synastry ever. ------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚ (Mutual reception with Moon)

I agree with GG. The magi are pretty much the only one who say all that Cinderella-soulmate-true love stuff about Chiron.
I pay attention to Chiron and Juno, sometimes, when I am not focusing on the main planets.
Juno`s symbolism / mythology fit the marriage-theme better (even though not in a Cinderella-happily ever after-sense), and astrology actually is all about myth. That is how people came to the symbolism of the planets in the first place.IP: Logged |

Hmm I dunno..The guy who I recently got back together with has his Juno conjunct my Asc. My Juno trines his Moon. Though we aren't married, sometimes it feels like we are lol. His Juno at 13° Libra
conjuncts my ASC at 14° Libra
trines my Jupiter at 12° Aquarius
trines my Chiron at 12° Gemini
trines my Psyche at 14° Gemini
squares my Karma at 11° Capricorn My Juno at 19° Scorpio
trines his Moon at 20° Pisces
squares his Mercury at 21° Leo
squares his Mars at 19° Leo
quincunx his Chiron at 17° Aries
quincunx his Saturn at 17° Gemini Juno for us makes us content and committed to each other. As far as leading to marriage I dunno. We do see each other as our ideal... yet, no marriage at the moment but we're happy.

If Chiron has anything to do with soulmates, then it would have to do with the wound/healing part, but I wouldn't think of it as a soulmate indicator.Juno has to do with marriage and commitment, and definitely not mistress or sex lol. And Juno links in the synastry can show that the other person can be an ideal partner for the Juno person.
Juno in the natal chart could show what kind of partner/commitment we are inclined to have too (but other things has to be taken into account too of course). IP: Logged |

Magi astrology may be wrong about many things, but I have found that they are right about the Mars/Chiron aspects in synastry leading to marriage. Meaning, if you share Mars conjunction or trine or quincunx with someone's CHiron, you will most likely marry that person. If you share square or opposition, marriage will not happen. Through my own research, I have found out that if you share both aspects, the one with the tighter orb will win. I know, I have this with my husband. Marriage has been around for a long time as an institution, so I would say that Juno with its symbolism is more an indication of marriage than Chiron. However, Chiron represents our deepest wound and this myth is more connected to the idea of soulmate since most people think that their soulmate will heal or will help them heal their deepest wounds. And here I am using the term soulmate in the romantic sense. It's interesting that most people do marry, but most people do not necessarily marry their romantic soulmate. IP: Logged |

I agree on the healing quality of Chiron (and therefore it can be part of a soulmate relationship), but I donīt agree that you will ALWAYS marry someone with the mentioned Mars-Chiron aspects.IP: Logged |

My ex and I married and my Juno conjunct his Mars.
I guess that means that I would marry anyone with a Mars in Sagittarius lol.Seriously though, I think if we are talking symbolism, then Juno and Mars would be a pair, as well as Juno and Jupiter. I think Juno and Mars can make for great sex. I know I married partly because of that, like a moron. And my Juno is in the 8th and my ex's Mars fell into my 8th and onto (or should I say also into  ) my Juno.
But then we also had a Venus/Jupiter conjunction soooo.... I really don't think you can pick the aspect apart and use it alone as an indicator. I couldn't pick apart any single aspect anyway and use it alone as marriage indicator.
I notice themes in couples' charts. Sometimes Juno figures in, but not always. IP: Logged |

I agree with MVM. I think that it depends on each person to determine which aspects works the most and which doesn't. It's like non astrologically speaking, everyone has their own preferences in relationships.IP: Logged |

Guys, sorry for the act of necromancy, LOL. I just found this (Google...) and I can't abstain from adding my opinion. So:
- My Chiron is conjunct his Mars (0 degrees 32 minutes orb) and his Chiron trines my Mars (very blah, 6 degrees and 20 minutes).
- My Juno is conjunct his Sun (2 degrees 37 minutes) and his Juno is conjunct my Mars (2 degrees 46 minutes).
No, he's not my husband, he's my over-a-decade-long obsession (Arnold Vosloo). Never even met him, probably never will, lot less actually marry him, LOL.
With my own husband, I have a very wide conjunction between my Chiron and his Mars (7 degrees 51 minutes of orb) and no significant Juno aspects... Weird... Is there any explanation for why this happens?  )))IP: Logged |

I don't have a strong opinion about which one of those asteroids is the marriage asteroid but I find Juno aspects to be one sided in synastry over a period of time, even if prolonging commitment. I feel its much different in the composite though. I have Juno very prominent in my chart; Conjunct Jupiter 1*, Conjunct sun and mercury, opposite pluto and trine Neptune tightly, yet I am only attracted to earth or water placements if there have many Uranus aspects and Aqua placements in their natal (Aqua is the cusp of my 7th). I am however attracted to people with Juno-Jupiter aspects in their charts. I would personally like to see both activated (especially in the composite), but in my marriage, chiron was more activated in synastry and composite even if by minor aspects. Same with my parents (married for 27 years tho not exactly happy) and grandparents (married since their 20s and till his death at 70 something). I wish I had charts of my aunt and uncle who have been married for over 40 years and still crazy about each other. My vote: the DSC, then Chiron, then Juno.
