Kind of random, but many people come on here asking about synastry and whatnot about people they just met and they have their birth times!?!?! Are you going up to these people and asking them what time they were born? That would kinda creep me out and scare me away.

I dont ask someone I just met what time they where born... But I get around it in a way...

I ask about birthday...

Then later I ask if they always lived (here in this area) this usually leads to yes I was born here, or I moved here when I was so and so age... Then it goes from there.. HEHEHEH

So now I have the Bday, and place... can get the planets.. just not houses and Asc.

Then sometime later... (maybe days or so maybe longer) I some how get into the conversation of parents and birth, I go with the flow to see if its a good time to ask what time they were born... hehehe

Im very creative in finding the answers.. Must be my packed 5th... It ALWAYS works...

Example.. Me and this one guy were very competitive, I "bet" him he didnt know what time he was born....
I won the bet, cuz he called his mom to ask her so he could at least PROVE he could get the time...

I use different ways for different guys...

This has always been a major frusration to me. I find even with people I know well and nave no problem asking for their time of birth I rarely get an exact answer.I have a friend who swore she was born between 3:00am and 3:30am. Her mother swore the same thing. Years later she found an old scrap book with a hospital card that stated she was born at 3:52am. I have quite a few other examples of friends who only have a rough estimate also. Their parents can't seem to give an exact time either. The worst case was ex of mine who told me he was born at 7:30am. When I looked at his chart it didn't feel right. One day when I got a chance to talk to his mother on the phone( she lived on anther continent)I asked her, and she said 5:00am. Finally I asked his father and he said between 10:00pm and 11:00pm. He insisted that he was born at night and that the mother had confused his time of birth with their older son who was born in the morning. In the end of it all I decided to go with the fathers version because that chart felt the most accurate.I find its rare to get an exact birth time out of anyone, even their parents. I have had this problem with people of all age bracets born in North America and Europe.

Yeah it's really not worth getting the nerve up to ask people for their time of birth anymore because MOST don't know it for sure!! lol

LOL @ Lioness. That was so sneaky.

It's relatively easy for me to find out the date and location of birth. It's the time of birth that requires Columbo like finesse. I have never been to get this info unless I ask for it straight up... So I have to train myself to be able to recognize people's ascendant, and I think I have become pretty good at it.

Most people I know don't know anything about astrology and they think it's interesting that I know so much so they ask me to tell me about themselves and I say "Well, I can't be accurate if I don't have a birth time!" and they willingly provide the information haha.

It's pretty easy for me since I work around alcohol, kinda loosens the tongue you know?

But, I'll just watch them for awhile and say, "Oh you must be a Leo!" and they will say yes or no, and tell me what they are, and then I'll ask if they were born here, since I live in an Air Force town, and lots of folks were not born here.

People love talking about themselves whenever they have the chance, so it seems to me.

And THEN, I'll say, "I bet your like most folks and have no idea what time you were born!"

and, since most people don't like to be compared to other people, they will try really hard to remember if they knew the time. I've even had some phone their Mom's!! Tricky, but effective.

HAHAHAHHAHA I always ask. It's better than curiosity killing me.. I will ask a few questions but I'm always getting to the point of "do you know what time you were born?"

I use this technique to ask birthttimes:
"I have a theory on extroverts and introverts, that those born in the morning are more likely to be extroverted... so what time where you born? "

lol

I actually did that.

I met a guy and offered him to do an astrological reading for him.
Luckily for me he was an openminded, curious Sagittarius.
Though I still can`t believe I did that!

Gypsee,

that guy I asked, actually phoned his mum, too, at about midnight. lol

IQ,

that is a good way to find out.

Rule no.1 - Never ask someone for their birth time!

Regardless of whether I find out or get told, most times I will ignore what they say.

Most will think astrology rubbish, some not. Either way, people don't want you knowing their personal details, regardless of seeming illogical in the reason for not giving details (ie they don't believe, but give the wrong time anyway)

Instead, I will rectify or guess. Much more solid than hearing from someone else.

My experience with celebrities (too many been round to be co-incidence, unless my area is a new celeb hotspot-unlikely) is very similar. Nice, and many will provide. Though right from the start, learned to ignore anything said and work it out for myself.

No, so won't be asking anyone for times. Will work it out myself. Any creepier? Astrology can be used for good!

IQ,

That's the technique I use too LOL. I start mouthing off about my theory on "night babies" and "day babies" and ask them if they were a night baby and most are intrigued enough to ask their parents if they don't know off hand.

For those I am really close to, I will either tell them about my interest in astrology and ask outright or I will ask their parents when they were born.

It's not that hard, just another form of social engineering.

That's pretty much the way it works for me too. I don't even want the birth times of most people who give them to me! They usually find out I'm into astrology by an offhand remark, made by either me or a friend who already knows about my interest. I wave off their questions about astrology, saying that you can't know much w/o an accurate birth time and that most people don't know theirs. That's when the people who do know it proudly proclaim their knowledge.

I do something similar when I want a specific person's birth time. If I'm getting to know someone well one on one, I'll casually mention astrology regarding something they say about themselves. I tease them with one insight and then drop the subject, saying the birth time is needed to know more. Works like a charm! They almost always tell me the time then or get back to me with it.

Lol it really does! Even one of my friends, who "hates" astrology and hates when I talk about it, called me up the minute she found her birth certificate that listed a time. I was like "Interesting that you're willingly providing me with this information since you HATE hearing about it!"

Crazy -

When you're with someone, you could mention what time it is. "I always feel so energized at X o'clock. I think it's because I was born at this time, haha. Do you feel the same at the time you were born?"

Lame but it could work. Though if they're into astrology themselves, they'll probably know exactly what you're doing.

Coffee: Ive always had an issue with asking for birth time, it's seems sneaky to me lol. But I am sick of just knowing planet placements and aspects and only getting half the story. When it comes to astrology I'm a very house-based person haha.
I always thought rectifying someones chart was a very lenghthy and complicated procedure only to be done by an experienced astrologer.

How do u go about rectifying someones chart to find out birth time?

A great astrologer knew me, personally. From my personality and looks, he figured out my time of birth.
It was 3 hours later than I thought.
The MOST amazing thing was how all the planets fell in to place once the new Ascendant was found.
For example, my Gemini stellium and Cancer moon went in to the 8th house. My Venus went in to the 7th.
Neptune went in to the 12th. I had Saturn in the first conjunct the Ascendant.
The Scorpio Ascendant fits me like a glove where the Libra one was an alien.

Ami: Unfortunately I'm not good at picking ones ascendant from just from their physical appearance, in my experience I've found that other astrological markers have an influence on appearance as well.

For instance, you couldn't tell my Rising from my appearance and there's no way you can guess what my sun sign is.

Also, with so many different ethnicities that have a direct impact on physical appearance it's hard to pinpoint what their Rising is. Especially now with all the different ethnic mixes! I'm honestly not racist, biased or prejudiced in any way, shape or form but if you were to ask me what the Rising was of someone who was Asian, I wouldn't for the life of me be able to give a definite answer. And with anglo-white there's so many different variations in appearance, I just couldn't narrow it down, lol.

If i was to look at my own picture, I would not be able to tell you what my Sun or Rising sign was, let alone someone else LOL

Exactly..aspects to the Ascendant.

I have Haumea in 12th conjunct my Ascendant with 2'10 orb. Therefore, I have Haumea Rising. I would think that it would have just as much influence in regards to astrological appearance factors just as much as fellow dwarf Pluto would.

I agree with you 100 percent.
I have talked about this stuff before.

I don't think people necessarily would know my ascendant , and I am ethnically mixed person (Black,White,Hispanic,Native American) too.

I also think that I am bit of a Rorshach test in which people see what they perceive me as but other's don't.

Of course people would say I look my rising sign after knowing what it is. Guessing it without knowing what it is can be a totally different story.

I look nothing like the blue eyed blonde who has the same Sun,Moon, and Ascendant as me in astrofaces.com

I do think that Ascendant descriptions are based on a Euro-centric perceptive.

Could anybody actually know that Tiger Wood has a Virgo Ascendant.

He is one of those ethnically mixed type - Black,Asian,Native American, and White. He referred to himself as "Cablanasian"
