All moon signs are actually an exaggerated sun sign description. For example if you have moon in cancer you probably are more cancerian than a cancer sun sign. Or a leo moon has much more pride than a leo sun.

That might explain why I never get along with Cancer Mooners. I still feel very Cancerian, but I'll never understand where these peeps' dependency issues, whining, and other mess come from.

I'm a Virgo Moon and while I can never be as critical as my Virgo Sun Mother, I do feel alot more critical and have higher standards than most of the other Virgo Suns I meet. In fact, I work with this Virgo Sun who's suppose to be my superior (she's an RN) but she makes the most ridiculous mistakes that I have to point out before some freak accident occurs.

However, the one thing attributed to this moon sign that I don't have is the emotional grounding....I have realized that I am anything BUT emotionally balanced. That could be either the fact that it's placed in the 8th house and its aspects (conjunct Lilith, sextile pluto, and trine Neptune), or maybe my Cancer Sun just takes over.

Hades Moon FTW. I only have the 8th house moon placement, but that's enough; I find alot of affinity with every Scorpio Mooner I meet. And they seem to have much more integrity than the Sun placement IMO.

there is a basic difference between a moon's house and sign placement

sign is how an object functions
house is where an object functions

My mom is more Scorpionic than me.......or should I say more intense, but she also has more Pluto aspects via the declinations

so many things can factor

Moon in Cancer - Moon is at home in Cancer
therefore, Moon functions very powerfully in that sign. I'd think that would be a much stronger lunar,Cancerian influence

However, I believe lunar aspects to the Sun,Midheaven,Ascendant are even stronger.

I put more emphasis on aspects than I do on sign and house placements.

Jah, I never discounted that....but that doesn't mean there's no similarity. My friend has the sign placement (scorpio) and I have the house placement and while other things differ, we have the same basic extremeness and the need to keep alot to ourselves.

That can be easily explained by the possibility of significant Pluto aspects for Pluto is the dwarf planet strongly associated with subtlety with it having a greater average distance than Neptune.

12th house is also associated with secrets and hidden matters.

Yeah I think you're right. The moon always feels (to me) like what deep down inside, even if you don't always express it, you're really inclined towards valuing. The Sun feels like what you express even if you're sometimes not even sure why you are expressing it or even 100% behind what you're expressing...then again I have my Sun and Moon in exact semi-square so I feel like my Cap moon is always rolling its eyes and like "why did you just say that??" at my Sag sun sticking its hoof in my mouth. Also the Moon is so touchy that might be another reason its qualities are amplified as compared to the Sun which feels pretty easy going and natural to me.

I'm very much influenced by my Cappy moon - my earthy sense of humour, my work ethic, my aversion to showing emotion (despite my Cancer asc) in public are all very prominent so I'd agree with this. Makes sense when you think about the fact that we're so often governed by how we feel.

Ummm sorry, but alot of the scorpio moon description resonates as much as the virgo one. Granted, the difference is that with me its because of the early conditions brought by the house and not the nature of the moon itself (as with the sign placement). Either way, this is me we're talking about...I think I know how I work. I know because of your school of astrology, you probably don't agree but I still believe 8th house energy is similar (but not identical) to the scorpio one...and that's from my personal experience with this placement. So therefore, we will just have to agree to disagree.

I'm a Libra Moon (conjunct Pluto exactly) in the 2nd house and a Gemini Sun. My Moon/Pluto conjunction sextiles my Neptune in Sagittarius.

I see sometimes that I do seem to be more my Moon than my Sun. They say in relationships the two people act like their Moon sign too. I think our Moons show up whenever there is any type of feelings or emotions involved. I think that triggers our Moons.

Im not so sure about that. I mean, a Cancer Moon would be more Cancerian than a Cancer Sun bu that's because the Moon rules Cancer. Highly doubt a Leo Moon has more pride than a Leo Sun because Leo is ruled by the Sun.

Maybe since the Moon is your emotions, those qualities would be harder to control and filtered unlike other placements.

I have a Libra Moon and I don't think I'm necessarily more Libra than a Libra Sun, although it's not really about the Sun at all... It has more to do with other factors in your chart that determines the strongest sign (like I poimted out in your freedom post).

On some level I do agree with the theory that a persons moon position is more prevalent in their personalities than their sun. Im a libra sun with capricorn moon. My personality is capricorn through and through....people are always asking me "Are you in business, you must be because your so serious!".....I think that must be a combo of my cappy moon and virgo ascendant...so earthy lol. My friend is a cancerian with a leo moon and my god does she have a leonine personality (and she has no other personal planets or points in leo). Im not a fan of gemini moons (way to bitchy and gossipy)....scorpio moons tend to be suspicious of EVERYONE and EVERYTHING...Leo moons and ascendant...status obsessed snobs (at least all the ones I know personally)...and virgo moons.....OCD anyone ???? lol

Also there is the possibility that Forer/Barnum Effect is a factor in why people relate to astrological sign and house placements. This could explain why some people relate more to a tropical zodiac,why some people relate more to a sidereal zodiac,and why some people relate more to a draconic zodiac.
