Don't talk about it, be about it lol! I need them, but not really. I'd rather have a person show me their love then tell me. Even with that said compliments are nice.

I'm not overly gushy with compliments...okay, I gush with compliments, but usually if I've just had a nice dinner or phone call or encounter with that person. Usually I'm otherwise observing other people to get a feel for them.

As far as receiving compliments...I love receiving them, but part of me (Scorpio Mercury in 12th) is eyeing the other person for ulterior motives. I can feel insincerity. If it's someone I know and trust, them I'm beaming after a compliment.

I do need aspects on my peregrine sun...absolutely. It's hard to tell objectively with this question because i kind of believe that the luminaries in general in general need some aspects in order for there to be anything significant.
But for me specifically, I have a very hungry sun which needs desperately to have energy given to it to 'wake it up'. Even harsh is fine. Saturn squares have been the most prominent for me in long term. In general, all aspects to it are good, but I need at least one hard aspect to my sun to remain interested.
My moon is another story lol.

I think an Aries moon is prone to flattery.
I think we like ego strokes. I'm not saying we buy them, but we do like 'em

I mean, you can give me BS compliments and I will see right through them- I've got a Virgo sun, a Scorpio Venus and an almost exact Mercury/Pluto conjunction. It's not like I can't see through the stupid window dressing. It's just that sometimes I don't care. What I want is stronger and if it needs to be fed and I want you to feed me, then I will put you in a corner until I hear what I want from you lol.
Of course I prefer the open and genuine compliments - who doesn't? But I also like to be indulged. I think that's partially the Jupiter square/T-square in action...it's willing to give the benefit of the doubt and overlook a lot, esp if i like someone enough.

People who know me think it is so strange when I say I am aloof in love.
I have been aloof in all of my love relationships but one.
An unaspected planet must be aspected in synastry or there is little or no feeling,I think.
You seem to need the stable force of Saturn.
I think I can almost feel someone's energy on my Venus and what that particular energy is.
Someone' Venus feels sweet. The Sun feels supportive.Pluto feels like a tidal wave which pulled me off my beach blanket to who knows where

I like compliments as a form of my loved ones telling me that they notice and understand me. From others, I take them as something they noticed and liked in me, which feels nice.
With Aries Sun/Moon/Venus/Mercury, compliments do feel nice for my confidence and can make me a happy ram. But this stellium being in the 8th house.. you better be honest with your compliment, coz I can mostly tell it lol (by awareness of my own traits and intuition about others).
