NO, I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THEM, I NEED THEM ALL THE TIME!

I don't know if it's just a Venus thing. My Venus in Scorpio is humbled by being at the end of the 6th and trine Saturn. But it's exaggerated by square to Jupiter.
I wonder if it's my dumb 5th house sun, or my Aries Moon, or my Mars/Venus midpoint in Leo? It's a very ME ME ME energy which hits out of nowhere at times.

Whatever it is, if I don't get compliments I start to complain about it, and pout, and just make everyone's life a little more miserable since they are not noticing me
I swear, I just called my mother today and yelled WHY DON'T YOU EVER COMPLIMENT ME???!
I'm very demanding about it, which doesn't help. But why should I act all coy about what I need???

I like compliments. But they have to be sincere, otherwise i take them as insults.
Compliments from people with significant earth are usually hollow, and given in anticipation of something in return.

ALF, it's probably because people with a lot of earth don't tend to take compliments well, so giving them is awkward. and because earth people are associated with some kind of ambitious work thing.
i personally hate giving compliments (i just like getting them) for no reason or don't mean it 110%. but if you get a compliment from me, it's going to stick with you for a long time because it's going to mean something. most of the time compliments from a regular earth sign will go right over people's heads tho, if they are not paying attention since the earth people are all shy and plain in the way they dole it out.

Insults are another story - they're complimentary mints and i need to restrain myself to not hand them out every time i get annoyed.

I don't take compliments well - I have to be careful to not respond in a way that discounts them (if they're genuine, and most are), so I'll smile and say "thank you"; I'll also be smiling inside, but there will be the wondering if they really mean it, or the thinking about how it isn't true.

I have a 6th house Sun in Aries, and Venus in Gemini. It would bother me if I felt that someone I was close to, didn't appreciate me - that goes along with the communication thing in the other thread, though.

*edit. I'm also shy about giving compliments, in case I'm seen as a kiss-up, when I'm being sincere.

LOL @ insults as complimentary mints. I've been complimented in the past, on the fact that I try to be fair in arguments, but I'm no longer doing so well in that department.

I give compliments very freely and at best, very honestly. Don't really like compliments from others. Maybe not the best word choice.

Maybe that Aqua ruling 1st, with Uranus in Scorpio. These stingers tend to see through a compliment and expect something to be attached to it. I don't feel like that much.
I just don't need any. I give myself enough already. Internal, not external.

I have a 5th house Sun and I do enjoy the occasional compliment. However, I don't feel as if I would die without compliments. I actually become suspicious if someone compliments me too much

I feel weird giving or recieving compliments. I get suspicious when they are less than sincere too...which I can sense very well.
