So there are 3 love archetypes sharing the same origin but going by different names:

Amor, Eros, and Cupid.

Eros - covers the passionate, desiring part of love. The part that craves creation and transformation.

Cupid - covers the infatuated, social part of love. The part of oursevles that reaches out and actively creates a relationship bc our heart's been pricked with love's arrow.

Amor - covers the unconditional, transcendental part of love. The part that sees us all as one and loves everyone (including ourselves) for our unique roles.

Yes?

I have all 3 of them forming 0 degree aspects in my natal.

Amor on my NN. (To the minute.)
Eros on my SN.
Cupid on my Sun.

My Amor-Eros opposition helps me sense their difference. Amor doesn't desire to *do* anything except love, while Eros desires union. Amor basks in love while Eros is driven wild by it.

I think of Cupid as being a tool for creating relationship. It describes how we go about connecting. I'm not as sure about this one though.

As far as synastry goes, I think Amor brings with it an unconditional, accepting type of adoration and deep love. Amor brings that element to the relationship, BUT other aspects show whether that love is played out platonically or sexually. If you have Amor cnj Moon and also Mars cnj Pluto, that love signified by Amor acts in tandem with a strong sexual desire. The asteroid aspects help show the way the planetary aspects focus their expression, imo.

Jane,

I bow before you.
That was perfect. Or at least it resonates perfectly with me.

Now fan me and feed me grapes!

Aw come on, even Cupid? That one I'm not so clear on. I think of it as being most similar to Venus in the sense that it's how we attract and are attracted. It's the most social of the three and the least emotional.

Yeah, well, no grapes yet, until you manage to bring Cupid to me, in an intellectual sense I mean, of course.

Hmm, Cupid, I am not completely sure about this one either.

I always thought of him as the most superficial of the three, an attraction based on looks mostly. And also a matchmaker (he is the one with arrow and bow on the valentine cards).
And Cupido is the latin word for: Desire.

Jude Law`s Cupido is on my ASC exactly (and conjunct my Mars, Lust, Angel, NN and Neptune), and I still have no real good idea what that means. lol

DD. Tight orb for me are up to 1 degree and I use conj, square, opp, trine. I also use sextile and quinkunx if I see any kind of pattern in the chart between the asteroids and the couple.

Thanks. That is how I see it, too.

Is Amor isolated in your chart? (meaning: no tight aspects to the major planets?)

OneruledbyMars - I haven't read through all of this yet - but I just wanted to say I loved your initial description of Amor. It feels just like that to me. It's so sweet and caring.
I have Amor conjunct his Amor - in Pisces. It's very lovey dovey.

What about Amor trine Venus? The reading says we have a "destined, perfected love, but can also readily accept emotional vulnerabilities and make this a real relationship."

(Amor-Psyche happens frequently, too).

The pisces feel makes sense, too. In Amor`s discovery chart the Sun was in Pisces. Interestingly in Psyche`s discovery chart the Sun was in Pisces, too.

Ceri,

What have you found about Valentine/Juno conj abd Amor/Juno conj?
