Bush was a natural comic, particularly when it was unintentional. I always loved the way he chewed the inside of his mouth when he was nervous. He was an appalling public speaker. You would expect Leo Merc to have more command. His Mercury in Leo must trine at least one of my Aries placements.I'm curious now. Do any other Leo Merc's chew the inside of their mouths like that? Dear Lonake WHAT is the wierd Aqua Mercury way if you can describe it. Thanks so much. x o x o AmiPS I was trying to feel your placements and cannot. I don't think I can feel Aqua very well. In fact--I know Aqua is hard for me to grasp. I wonder why. IP: Logged |

Yup, I own one of those Merc's. Slow, steady thinking and down to earth tangibility.....The Merc in Cappy people's merc does not aspect my Mercury - the one's that aspect it is either in Cancer or pisces it seems. Merc in cappy hits my moon in cancer..... Cynn IP: Logged |

My Mercury squares my Moon. If you count asteroids, my Mercury is in a t-square.Mercury: 26 Sco (cnj Uranus at 22) Moon: 22 Leo Pallas & Psyche: 21 Aqua I LOVE when people turn that into a grand cross by placing their Mercury opp mine in Taurus. I also love communicating with people who put their Mercury in the Aqua corner. I've never been close with anyone who has a Leo Mercury. My fellow Sco Mercury's, judging by the number in my life, must be my favorite. Most of the people I've really clicked with on a mental level have had that placement. I also like: Pisces Mercury trine my Mercury (I have this with one of my best friends.) Sag Mercury cnj my Sun (I had this with my mom.) And their Mercury narrowly aspecting certain parts of my chart (and vice versa): ~in Virgo cnj my NN ~in Aries opp my Pluto ~in Cap sextile my Asc ...Things like that. It doesn't have to be direct contact with my Mercury for me to fall in step with them mentally. IP: Logged |

My favorite mercuries are:1. Mercury in Gemini (conjunct)-->we automatically "get" each other's humor. 2. Mercury in Scorpio (square)--> takes us both a little bit of time to open up, but once trust is established, I'm even closer to them than to gemini mercuries 3. Mercury in Sag (opposite)--> we joke around a lot, but I have to walk on eggshells when speaking with them because they're easily offended and very sensitive (at least the ones I know) I'm a Gemini Sun. I usually love talking with others who has Mercury in trine signs. With sextile signs there's also fun and understanding as well. With square and quincunx signs it's like misunderstanding can be easy if I get too Aries (Mercury in Aries here). I can get along with them too, but it's just not as fun lol.IP: Logged |

I have my Mercury in Sag conjunct Saturn, so I think that adds a little capricorn or at least pumps the brakes a little bit on my verboseness. Don't get me wrong I love great conversation, however I rather conversation with depth & meaning ( cue in Pisces Moon in the 3rd) Mercury In Gemini drives me mad, they're like birds in a tree to me...outside my window...way too early in the morning, lol. My sister bless her soul can talk nonsense for hours, and I definitely have to check out otherwise I would go crazy. A few of my close friends also have this, and I find myself zoning out every so often just to keep myself sane & polite. Checked a few charts I find that the people I love talking to the most have Mercury in either Aquarius/Leo, or Libra/Scorpio. Aquarius/Leo fall in my 2nd & 8th House...Libra/Scorpio 9th 10th house aspecting my Mars-Pluto Scorpio conjunction. Lol..all about values, power, death, & sex...the down & dirty And we can talk for hours without hitting a pause IP: Logged |

Hi Ami, Mercury there is in a habit of saying things all of a sudden with a certain excitability, 0-100 in 2 seconds, which can make them look odd, what they say runs contrary to conversation etiquette, it can be absurd too, and funny..like a strange pet wandering around that talks to you and tells you their observations.IP: Logged |

I said this... quote: It doesn't have to be direct contact with my Mercury for me to fall in step with them mentally.
...I was mistaken! I need my own Mercury to be stimulated. If not my Mercury, then my Pluto. (Pluto disposits my Mercury.) As long as that happens, I'm engaged and excited mentally. Without that, their own Mercury touching my chart doesn't turn me on mentally. The exception is when their Mercury conjuncts my Asc. That can make up for no contact with my own Mercury or Pluto. This occurred to me when I was thinking about those synastry examples I gave. ~Mercury cnj my NN But we also have my Mercury tightly square his Moon. ~Mercury sextile my Asc We also have my Mercury exactly cnj her Moon. I started thinking about all the other people I can talk with forever, and sure enough my own Mercury or Pluto forms tight aspects with them. IP: Logged |

LonakeI don't think I've ever looked at Bush's chart. I'm very curious now. Mercury-Saturn would stunt his self-expression, I guess. I'd say that he just couldn't translate verbally what may have been quite coherent in his thought processes. Not that I'm unfamiliar with this one. Mercury-Saturn could also translate that he needed to be prepared for his verbal expressions and I think if we look back those slip-ups were probably when he was put on the spot, during question time. Hi Peace, I was mistaken. Mercury is conj the Asc, from H1, Saturn is back in h12, to me he has a Saturn/Merc look so I thought it was H1, but not so.Asc - 7 leo Merc - 9 leo Pluto - 10 leo Venus - 21 leo Going back to dispositors Sun is in Cancer in h12, squaring Moon conj Jup in Libra in h3, the square to the Moon is 3 deg. Actually Moon from h3 squaring Sun in h12 as dispositor of Leo, seems apt. Saturn rules h6 and its in h12. His chart is completely Eastern emphasis (h11-h3). Either way he seems/looks v.Mercurial. Dear Jane I am thinking of your Mercury--Scorpio. I don't know anyone with that Mercury. It feels very different than mine--Gemini. The Scorpio Mercury would be more perceptive and keenly insightful assessing the surroundings--scoping it out before he jumped in, I think. I see Scorpio anything as Micheal Corleone in the Godfather . Does that fit your Mercury? How are you at a party? Do you hold back until you assess the surroundings, people etc to see how it will be before you jump in? x o x o Ami

Well, that was a bad trine, and I didn't find a lot of Leo Mercuries to find out with. I wonder if my Leo mom or brother have their Mercuries trining mine (I don't have either chart). I think miss Meta_4 has her Sun in trine with my Mercury. Her and I communicate well. __________________ What I hated most about Bush's speaking style is that he often felt the need to try to describe things simply as if his audience wouldn't understand if he put it in adult language. Ami - quote: I see Scorpio anything as Micheal Corleone in the Godfather...How are you at a party?
I always bring cannoli as a party favor. Have you ever taken that Myers-Briggs personality test? In it, I get 50% Extrovert and 50% Introvert. The way I express my chart depends a lot on whether I'm in Extro or Intro mode. If my primary interest is socializing, then I'm an extrovert. Sometimes my primary interest isn't social interaction. I'd rather study and observe. I'm incapable of being like that at parties. Something about the heightened human energy always arouses my fire Sun and Moon. But in learning environments and more subdued social situations, my Mercury can be aloof because I'm so lost in my thoughts. People often comment on how different I am when I'm socializing from when I'm in a more intellectual mood. quote: Do you hold back until you assess the surroundings, people etc to see how it will be before you jump in?
My Mercury definitely is strategic when committing to anything new. As I said before, I jump right into social situations, but I'm careful about letting something new and permanent develop from it (like moving a casual relationship to a more personal one). Sometimes the assessment is super quick, but there always is one. So about Mercury in Gemini. I think yours could act similarly to Sco if it's in the 8th house. The main thing about Sco Merc, I think, is that you're observing what's happening below the factual, physical surface - moods, innuendos, emotional reactions. It's unlikely I could tell you what the person I was just speaking to was wearing, but I will be able to tell you when they averted their eyes and what that meant. Is your 8th house Gem Mercury similar? IP: Logged |

I used to get 50% extrovert and 50% introvert as well ~ the tests would always put me as an ENFP, though. (I think I posted my result in an old thread in the first LLC.)Over the past few years, I've moved into the more introverted categories (weird, since I've been more social in ways). IP: Logged |

You know, Jane, I am figuring out my problem by a book I am reading by Liz Green and Howard Sasportas--The Development of Personality. I have not allowed my Scorpio to protect me. My Scorpio knows and sees. It can keep me safe if I will allow that power to be a part of me. My dichotomy was thinking I had to be Cancer OR Scorpio---not both. In my family--I was allowed and encouraged to be the sweet Cancer moon but shamed and humiliated for the strong Scorpio. Tonight---I felt better cuz I MUST take that Scorpio power back and I saw that. This book says that what you reject in yourself, you will find in the world. In other words, if you reject your own power, you will find someone to abuse you i.e get power OVER you. I have been there and done that and by the grace of God have learned! Ami
PS To answer your question in a direct way, Jane--Yes--I can see and feel below the surface. I always have been able to but I thought everyone could. Maybe--everyone cannot. Maybe, Scorpio is gifted with a certain type of understanding.

Oh, I have Mercury in Aries. I don't have to have a soft aspect (or soft conjunction) to get along with someone - my Merc squares my sister's Mercury in Capricorn, and we get along just fine (we do fight on occasion, and used to fight a lot). My Mother's Mercury is in Sagittarius - I think around AG's, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly. We get along well, but we can also really get each other going when we're debating. I've eased over to the doorway, at times, suggesting that we take a break and calm down a little. We were also going over the, "He Said, I Said" thing this afternoon, that happened between me and a certain someone. Mum was saying, "You should say this, and this, and this!" and I finally responded: "Firstly, there will be no more contact between us. Secondly, I'm your daughter: I already said that!" IP: Logged |
