This is not really an Astrology topic but it could be lol Since I am working on raising mine. I wonder what other's experiences are in the self esteem arena. Add any astrological placements which factor in--for you--in either positive or negative ways. Thanks so much! Ami

I have memories of good self esteem. I am a Gem Sun, Mercury and Venus. I always liked to have fun so I had many friends and activities. I could keep myself safe cuz I had Scorpio perception(Scorpio ASC and an eigth house Stellium--Sun, Merc, Moon) I could sense people and situations which were not good for me . The main thing that gave me self esteem was I would not sell myself out for anyone or anything I have Pluto on the MC. This must have given me the strength to walk away from all my friends and activities when they started getting in to activities that I did not want to become part of. I never got back to that sense of self, though. I started acting from the Cancer placements, as I have said many times lol This ,for me, was throwing away many parts .

You're an awesome person Ami. You're extremely inteligent, understanding and mature. I think everyone who knows you senses that. You're very genuinly caring and after everything you have been through, in particular with your son - your strength and ability to maintain your sanity and optimism amazes me. Those people who truly matter in life appreciate you. You deserve the royal treatment emotionaly in all relationships. IP: Logged |

I get self conscience of my looks. I don't think I look good in pictures. I have ASC square Venus. But other than that I think I'm awesome. My Sun is well aspected and the ruler of my 2nd (self worth) is my Moon, which is also well aspected except for an opposition from Jupiter (which I never found to be particularly bad since Jupiter is a benefic). Interestingly enough, I don't think other people find me as awesome as I do lol. My 5th (the ego) is Venus which only receives squares.IP: Logged |

So, are you saying, Amowls, that you have good confidence in everything else but feel unsure about your appearance which is Venus? BTW, I saw a pix of you in the ASC thread and you are so pretty x o Ami IP: Logged |

This is my thinking. You know all the beautiful ,wealthy people in Hollywood and elsewhere who have no self esteem. Self esteem is a must--not optional. Look at Michael Jackson. He had everything except himself. Ami IP: Logged |

I can't help think of Belinda CarlisleShe had long history of low self esteem too connected to father, weight/self image, and drug issues. She has Chiron conjunct Ascendant within 1 degree. - wounded healer personality Venus square Neptune less than half a degree orb - can indicate her issues with addictions, but also artistic sensitivity like her singing, it can be good for beauty Sun sesquiquadrate Eris - '01 diversity, equality, controversy, discord Sun conjunct Geocentric North Sedna Node Sun oppose Geocentric South Sedna Node Earth oppose/conjunct Heliocentric Sedna Nodes (all within 1 degree)
She is strongly connected to Collective Sedna energy. victimization, abuse, betrayal but also higher consciousness, compassion, environmental awareness/caring strong heliocentric nodal contacts indicate strong possibility of being a public figure. the same with geocentric nodes of Jupiter and beyond. therefore her strong contacts to both geocentric and heliocentric Sedna Nodes indicate a strong possibility of being a public figure
transneptunians like Sedna and Eris are nonconformists and otherworldly Sedna is even more so it has the greatest average distance of any object in our solar system I did post on her http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/204283.html

Gemini's are the smartest people I know. They can talk with anyone, date anyone,be anyone. They're so flexible, it makes me jealous! You're actually my favorite astrologer here and I envy you! I don't initiate conversations with you (or anyone) but I always read your posts! They are always delightful and educational! haha. Its ashame someone as great as you would have it down in the dumps--- especially since you help us all so much, you'd think that our gratitude and aw for you would bring you somewhere heavenly! Anyways--- You're unique and special in every way. ============================================ "Congratulations! You're not perfect! It's ridiculous to want to be perfect anyway. But then, everybody's ridiculous sometimes, except perfect people. You know what perfect is? Perfect is not eating or drinking or talking or moving a muscle or making even the teensiest mistake. Perfect is never doing anything wrong - which means never doing anything at all. Perfect is boring! So you're not perfect! Wonderful! Have fun! Eat things that give you bad breath! Trip over your own shoelaces! Laugh! Let somebody else laugh at you! Perfect people never do any of those things. All they do is sit around and sip weak tea and think about how perfect they are. But they're really not one-hundred-percent perfect anyway. You should see them when they get the hiccups! Phooey! Who needs 'em? You can drink pickle juice and imitate gorillas and do silly dances and sing stupid songs and wear funny hats and be as imperfect as you please and still be a good person. Good people are hard to find nowadays. And they're a lot more fun than perfect people any day of the week." -Anonymous

The guy I've been crushing on for years went through some serious Saturn transits (the normal about to hit 30 transits along with a few others) that had an odd side effect of helping his self esteem a ton.As for me personally... Simply learning Astrology in general helped my self esteem quite a bit. To be able to look at a chart and see things about myself was a good way to organize areas in my life that I could work on... categorizing them, picking an order to work on them, etc (and that would be Virgo shining through right there). It also helped to not just know that other people are different, but to have hard proof right there in front of my eyes. A way to understand what I already knew, but also a way to accept it. If everyone is different then it's ok to be me. Not everyone is going to like me because (insert Astrological term)... but some people will because (insert another Astrological term). It helped me not care so much about what people think of me. That wasn't the only thing that helped my self esteem, but really the only thing that I could add that's Astrologically related. ... it's a bit weird to look at it that way, but it's what worked for me. And really, that's what it's about, finding what works for you. ------------------ Astrology Activism: The constant strive to not just learn the intricate details of Astrology but the desire to constantly find new ways to prove that it exists in a scientific manner. Failure to incorporate the later into your work is akin to learning how to cure cancer but not sharing it with anyone. IP: Logged |

Risin' up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance Now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to surviveSo many times, it happens too fast You trade your passion for glory Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive It's the eye of the tiger It's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge Of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he's watching us all with the Eye of the tiger Face to face, out in the heat Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry They stack the odds Still we take to the street For the kill with the skill to survive It's the eye of the tiger It's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge Of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he's watching us all with the Eye of the tiger Risin' up straight to the top Had the guts, got the glory Went the distance Now I'm not gonna stop Just a man and his will to survive It's the eye of the tiger It's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge Of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he's watching us all with the Eye of the tiger Credit: Survivor, 1982 IP: Logged |
