I loved your words Absinthe.
and I feel the same.

I have nothing in the 5th btw. I have given birth 4 times, been pregnant 6 times, and have 3 children living.
The Sun rules my 5th house.

On the other hand.....
I think what Miss Meta says is awesome too.
I saw so many kids at my daughter's graduation with babies or already pregnant.

(I notice this kind of thing goes in cycles..in our society- having babies young vs. having them when older)

But the reality is that a baby is not a doll, or a toy, and it does change your whole life.
Nothing is EVER the same.
So, much thought should be given.

I wonder when I see shows like 'Teen Mom' and 'Sixteen and Pregnant' if it's life imitating art or the other way around.

I wish TV didn't glorify kids having kids.

OK, ASinthe if you didn't kill this thread than surely I will. *steps off soapbox*

We'll have to get T-Shirts printed up Gyps "Threadkiller"

I appreciate meta's honesty. It takes a big person to look at yourself, and realize, "Hey, I don't have this within me, to do it." More respect from me!

AMEN SISTER!!!

I think that society and TV feed off of each other quite honestly.

I'd wanted a child for as long as I can remember and by a child I mean ONE. That's all I wanted. I don't have the temperment to deal with squabbling all day long and I didn't want to have to split up my attention. I wanted to give my child the best of me and really get to know him/her.

I was 33 when I had my son and it was the most magnificent time of my life. Seeing life through his eyes where everything is so new and everything that we take for granted is a huge discovery. I shared that journey with him. I had him out at the park when he was three days old putting his little hand on the tree so he could feel the bark and touching his little feet onto the grass. Pointing out the squirrels. Having an infant was the farthest thing from boring for me. With the exception of getting up in the middle of the night, I enjoyed every second of it.

My son is 8 years old now and there have been some rough patches and he's not exactly how I thought he would be-once I learned how to best work with his temperment and guided myself, I was able to guide him as himself. He's wonderfully eccentric, intelligent, funny and he has this inante ability of seeing the good in even the worst of situations. He's also demanding and controlling but we're working on right time, right measure.

The older he gets though, the more I wish I had giving him a sibling in the home. He has two brothers on his fathers side that he used to see quite often but their mother's situation had made it so they cannot come down as often.

I have virgo sun, virgo jupiter and mars leo in the 5th house. Moon is piesce in the 12th.

@scrappydog
awhile back, i posted a topic about motherhood/fatherhood and moon in capricorn.

i think most men with moon in capricorn over identify with being parent. and women with moon in capricorn find motherhood a duty that they either totally avoid or think of as a job or task amongst other jobs and tasks.
