Hello Electricmind,

I used to be able to define myself quite easily, but as I grow, I realize that I can't define myself as clearly as I used to anymore. I don't judge myself, so this is neither good or bad in my books. It merely IS what it is.

I am. This is as far as I can go in defining myself. I AM. Period. I can't define myself with my career (I am also a singer/songwriter) because I see my career as one of many tools that I can use to define myself. I'm saying that music, to me, is a tool to express one facet of who I am; it is not who I am. E.g. Just because I have a foot doesn't mean that I am a foot. I'm more than my parts and my parts are limitless.

I can't define myself because I can literally be anything of my choosing. To define myself is to limit myself. I can't do that even if I try currently. Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I'm the happiest I've been in 3yrs or so and my joy and peace increased as I gave up defining myself. It could be coincidence, though and my peace could have nothing to do with not defining myself currently. I'm just satisfied with merely saying "I am." I apologise for going philosophical if that wasn't your question but I couldn't respond in any other way.

Scorpio AC
Sag Uranus in 1st
Cancer Moon cnj MC
Virgo Sun cnj Haumea cnj Anubis
Pluto Rising
Mercury and Saturn in 12th.

And, I know my post sounds pretentious. I'm not saying that there's any fault is self-definition. I'm just relaying what's happening to me currently. I used to believe that every act is an act of of self-definition, but today in my life I find that to be untrue. It used to be true for me, though. Just not anymore. So, my point is, I'm not saying that to define yourself is right or wrong. I'm saying that I can't define myself these days, all of a sudden, and I'm happy not to define myself. I am what I am NOW. Just because I was on stage yesterday, doesn't make me a performing artist today because today I'm at home on the couch being a couch potato. Yesterday I was the life of the party and Now I'm contemplative. Through out those changes, something in me remained constant and that the part of me I can't define. I call it "I am".

I'll leave it there because this conversation is like the Ouboros. And I can potentially talk myself in circles. I was just saying that I can understand how pretentious I might sound, and that it's ok if you think so. Really.

@unmoved
thanks for sharing! we rarely see u around astro 2.0.

it sounds like ur desire to escape limitations and definitions aptly describes ur 12th house saturn. i found it interesting that limitation is the word that u used as that is one of saturn's keywords. escape is a 12th house world.

and i've course i would have drive and feel motivated to define myself and my limitations with saturn conjunct mars in scorpio in the 10th house.

astrology is so cool! i never ceases to amaze me.

so maybe one's saturn placements describe whether one is apt to describe themself or (limit themself as unmoved put it) and the house placement and aspects describe where and how.

i too agree tht it is not a judgment thing just neutral

I have a 12th house Saturn and for some reason I've never thought of the term (escaping limitations)....though it makes SO much sense for me in my life. Thanks! I learn new things everyday...haha.

How I define myself has been a question since mid life...which I think starts at 35. What my impact/legacy on our society and the world will be weighs up there. I want to be known as someone who has made a difference. I can't discern any planetary placement in this regard. Perhaps it's because my Uranus is conjunct both Mercury and Jupiter.

What I do, do, do is way up there too. I'm not talking about career or family accomplishments, but rather where I have been, what crazy adventures I've had, what I have experienced, and the breadth and depth of knowledge I have gained. I want to be known for these things. I think this is the result of Mars in Sagittarius.

Diablo, I'm an extroverted introvert too. On the one side, there's Virgo Sun & Cancer Moon. On the other there's Leo Venus and Sag Mars.

To any introvert who'd like to be more extroverted, my advice would be to play act as an extrovert. Pretend you're an actor and your character is an extrovert. It will come more naturally. It may sound like not "being yourself", but what we "are" is a work in progress.

Transmutation.

I define myself by what I transmute my darkness into.

Everyone has endured some suffering in their lives. It's what we make of the life that is given us...the good, the bad and the ugly...that defines us.

I transmuted my pain into poetry and music.

I define myself by my ultimate goal:

In Mysticism, the end of human life and of philosophy is to realize the mystical return of the soul to God. Freeing itself from the sensuous world by katharsis, the purified human soul ascends by successive steps through the various degrees of the metaphysical order, until it unites itself in a clear and completely conscious contemplation to the One, and unifies into the state of ecstasis.

*sidenote: Define contains the words: I find need in

Saturn conj Sun/ Pis 7th house
Saturn conj Chir/Pis "
Saturn conj Mer/Mars Pis "

Saturn oppos Asc Vir 1st house
Saturn oppos Ur Vir "
Saturn oppos Pl Vir "

Saturn square Jup Gem 10th house

Curious, is this considered a lot of Saturn?
I pretty much know I'm heavy Karma with an 8 birth channel too.

I define myself as a socially conscious, global citizen who loves to do anything artistic and provocative to make people think about the world around them. I'm always honing on my talents so that I can portray my characters (I'm an actress starting out) honestly as I can.

Venus in Scorpio in 10th House
Pluto in Scorpio in 9th/10th Houses
Venus conjunct Pluto in Scorpio in MC
Saturn in 10th/11th houses
Sun in Virgo trine Mars in Capricorn
Sun in Virgo trine Ascendant in Capricorn

Hi all!

I am new to posting but have been reading your words for a while.

How do I define myself...let's see....I define my self as a soul/spirit on the path to enlightenment whose most important goal during this incarnation is to continue to live through the heart chakra by showing unconditional love to all.

On my journey I have come to realize that all that really matters is unconditional love, happiness within and seeing beauty in all of God's creation even during times of adversity.

"There are no problems, just opportunities for growth." Anon.

i see myself as one of the most blessed people i know. i feel i have everything and do all of the things that i love every chance i get and consider myself generous and kind.

i have everything i need or want, wonderful children, wonderful marraige, my art, a job i love, many friends who i love and that love me, and i try to freely give as i freely recieve.

years ago i had a negative self image, but now i really appreciate who i am, my talents, my gifts, even my weaknesses. i see myself as i was created, perfect and whole.

i am a pretty lucky girl. maybe not by everyone elses standards, but who cares, i feel rich, blessed and enjoy life so very much, how could i ever complain? i can't.

my sense of humor can be off color at times, but hey, life is supposed to be fun right?? we are here to enjoy all we are given, and i sure try to.

i am hardworking, honest, care genuinely about other people..i see myself as i am....who could ask for more? i am a strong woman who knows who i am. doing what i love means more to me than having worldly sucess at it, if that comes, cool, if not, i am still very happy. i am many things
mother
friend
artist
muscian
warrior
lover
amazing
triumphant
goofy
nerdy
sexy
strong
and sure.

for me to say that is a whole lot, my life story would read like a tragical comedy. but somehow i managed to make lemonaide. i don't beat myself up over mistakes, i forgive others, so i forgive myself too. cool thread.

triple leo, taur asc

lol Unmoved - I wanted to say the same thing, before you posted it.
I do not define myself because I am always changing as we all are. I simply am - period.

But then I realized how Arien that sounds ("I am" lol) and I didn't want to be that prototypical

Dy-na I totally understand. I had to think twice about posting because it sounded so typically "self-actualized" and something from Deepak Chopra's book, but it is the truth- no matter how off it sounds.

That's why I also included the Cancer Moon and Uranusin 1st in the astro placements I think are responsible because the reason for not wanting to be defined is mainly due to recognising the fact that I'm always changing.

Dear electricmind;
For 30 years I have always felt to become an authority in job,I was strictly carreer oriented..As equal I was always concerned with love as a life center..My Saturn,Venus,Pluto and MC libra in 10 th house. It explains my life choices..
But for last 1 year,I changed anyhow..Now I am more spiritual.far away money-job issues and related with pure love(not obsessevie relations..)

Great topic..Thanks..

Chang
