IQ, why wouldn't you wish Saturn in Leo for even your worst enemies...?(http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/205296.html) What is so bad about that placement? ~ Lana IP: Logged |

Because Saturn is not placed well in Leo because it is dignified in Aquarius the sign opposite Leo. Basically Saturn is the lord of Karma and having it illdignified means the person has some serious karmic matters to contend with.Look up dignities and you will understand why. IP: Logged |

raspberri, I am hoping for IQ to give some personal info on his statement, because it was so strong.Of all placements of all planets, why single out this one to be the worst. (Why not, for example, Saturn in Cancer or Pluto in Taurus...). So, there must be more behind what IQ wrote. ~ Lana

rasberri - please respect that this thread is addressed to IQ. If he was talking about dignities only, he could have chosen Saturn in Cancer, as Saturn is dignified in Capricorn. IP: Logged |

And Aquarius. I'm just saying. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what he means.IP: Logged |

So as you know what is going on in IQ's mind, could you explain why he did not say anything about Saturn in Cancer?I hope IQ will be kind enough to answer. IP: Logged |

I dont know what he is thinking, but its simple common astrological sense and I know what he meant.Traditional astrology is better to use and traditional astrology says Saturn in Leo is worse. IP: Logged |

No, it is not simple common astrological sense to include the old dignity and leave out the new one IF we talk about dignities.IP: Logged |

All of you have made good points, correct points. I have much to write about Saturn in Leo, from personal experience but I am still busy with a graduate training program, will be able to explain later though. Saturn and Sun are "enemies" in terms of Saturn ruling Aquarius and opposing Leo. Same logic holds for Saturn ruling Capricorn and opposing Cancer. However, Saturn "restricts" the potential of the sign it occupies. Cancer is a pessimistic, introverted Sign. There is no harm in Saturn restricting a bit of that behavior. Leo however is a positive, optimistic, extroverted, generous Sign. Saturn here extinguishes the Fire of Leo. It humbles the people here, it prevents them from attaining fame, or destroys them if they attain fame [and forget Saturn ] Saturn in Leo 5th is the worst of the worst placements, I should have worded my original statement this way, that Saturn in 5th Leo should not be wished even on enemies. This placement effect is akin to a cop whose hands are tied by his Superiors when a robber loots a bank in front of him. The native will have to suffer seeing selfish incompetents get ahead in life. His own success will come, in non-conformance [A bit of Aqua, the opposite sign] but it will always hurt him or her to not be able to help those in need, even as those who can help turn a blind eye. I know hundreds of people in my life with this aspect [nearly every classmate/schoolmate], and speak from experience. More to come about this important generational aspect. ------------------ http://tamsoft.co.in/articles.html

I have one exception for Saturn in Leo and being famous.Charlie Chaplin had Saturn in Leo and he is still one of the most famous people on earth. He was the first international star. I think if you use Saturn as a tool correctly it can offer you strategic skills in the sign it resides in. That's how Charlie Chaplin used it. If you don't use it well, then yes, it can seriously deprive you. *EDIT* 2:39AM 9/8/10: I have to recind part or all of my statement here. I just re-read iQ's statement about Saturn in Leo and he specifically mentions the Leo Saturn being in the 5th House and I totally missed that point. Charlie Chaplin's Leo Saturn is NOT in the 5th House so my post above is invalid. IP: Logged |

"The native will have to suffer seeing selfish incompetents get ahead in life." Well, many people I know complain about that thing. Might be a matter of perspective to a certain degree. IP: Logged |

My ex had Saturn in the 5th squaring both his Sun & Moon! Ay, if there was ever a person who was cruel and hard on himself it was him. It would hurt me to watch him be so brutal with himself especially when it came to expectations...any mistake he made was cataclysmic, at least thats how he viewed it. I hope that he softens with age and learns to love himself so that he can receive love from others.Thats why he ended our relationship...he couldn't receive my love. He definitely witnessed incompetents getting ahead at workplaces or general lack of effort, or even crazy bosses that had it out for him. I guess this is his lot in life. Thankfully he has an awesome and supportive family. IP: Logged |

Most of the famous people I admire or respect have this placement. I doubt it would make it hard for someone to be famous, because the probability is high that there are celebrities born between 1975-1977....LOL. I had an idea that its a tough position for saturn, but I wasn't sure how much. It wonder if Saturn in Sag is almost the same? It totally squashes my optimism. IP: Logged |

In Tarot, the Five of Wands depicts "Saturn in Leo", it means internal/or external wars and strife in every area of life. http://www.learntarot.com/w5.htm "You wake up and stub your toe going to the bathroom. You're in the shower and find out there's no soap. At breakfast, you get juice on your shirt. When you get to the car, your battery is dead. It's going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. You're beset by hassles - those petty annoyances that are infuriating because they are so minor. The Five of Wands stands for times when your environment seems to be fighting you. Nothing flows smoothly; everyone is working at cross-purposes. The figures on this card are all batting at each other. There is no coordinated effort, no agreement. When this card shows up, be prepared for a bumpy ride. You're going to need extra patience and perseverance to get to the point where you can accomplish something. The Five of Wands does not represent major blockages, just many small, irritating ones. This card also stands for competition. In the right circumstances, competition is useful. It fosters extra effort, generates excitement and encourages the best. When the Five of Wands appears in a reading, check for competitive elements. You may be involved in a contest, race or game. You may discover you have rivals who are opposing you or challenging your position. You may feel disheartened (or invigorated!) by the dog-eat-dog environment you find yourself in. At its heart, competition is divisive. Make sure it is helping you and others reach your true goals. Otherwise, work toward cooperation." http://tarotnotes-majorandminor.blogspot.com/2009/07/five-of-wands.html "For Crowley (and the OGD), the Five of Wands represents the energy of the planet Saturn and the zodiac sign Leo. Crowley titles the card "Strife." He writes: "Leo shows the element Fire at its strongest and most balanced. Saturn tends to weight it down and to embitter it. There is no limit to the scope of this volcanic energy." Hajo Banzhaf and Brigitte Theler (in Keywords for the Crowley Tarot) use keywords to describe the energy of the card: "Courage (Leo) to be responsible (Saturn) and persistent (Saturn) development (Leo)."
