Well I dint really blame her because she mentioned she is half Persian. Sometimes culture plays a big role in it as well. For example unlike Australian parents Ferdi couldn't just go and tell his mother who he wants to marry because they have set ideals and there is so much pressure to be the one for their sons because European and middle eastern parents expect there children to marry doctors or from the same country/village etc. And because they have this whole respect thing going on you don't establish a proper friendship with your parents therefore you can't tell them who you are dating. It's difficult to understand when your not apart of it and living in a westernized country. My parents are nothing like that.. Actually no my dad is like that. I have never introduced any man to my father and I wont unless he's going to marry me. This is a long story and it's 8am and I have a hang over so I will be back after my coffee

A hang over at 8am? You're slacking girl!

Agree on cultural differences - one can never judge important decisions that others make for its simply not our life!

I come from one of those conservative cultures and I'll just say that if he isn't attached to his family....go for it. You may create a nice little idyllic bubble life if he's on the same page as you. BUT If he is strongly rooted with his family, then I don't see this ending positively at all.

It's your prerogative in the end, but I'm suspicious about where he stands. And are you really prepared for a kid? I mean, I work in a Nursery and that is exhausting in many ways after only 12 hours. YOU will have a new full time job.

Belgz is 100% right. Being greek orthodox, all the males in my family would slaughter me if I brought home a lebonese or turkish or any muslim guy (never stopped me from dating them though!! haha!!)

But then again, my auntie brought home an African American Snoop Dogg clone in the 90s after she got divorced, which was a BIG deal back then. And my cousin married an English woman 11yrs older than him when he was 19. So we do break boundaries.
