Interesting.....an earth sign maybe? Physically have something part of them. Fire signs probably get them too rashly  Air signs might take too long to think about what and where to cover their bodies....water signs....maybe if they are getting something symbolic and representing someone or something.------------------

Tats is an aries thing. I don't know many people with an Aries placement without a tattoo.I'm a cancerian with Virgo rising, Venus in Leo and I hate tattoos. IP: Logged |

I have to agree with T - it could be any sign, probably depending on the aspects and placements.The 5th house is usually that of creativity, right? Maybe someone with a filled 5th house could be more likely to cover themselves in tattoos, especially if the sun is there? Or even the 2nd house ruler, because the 2nd house rules the physical body... That would be true for my mother, anyway, who has her sun - and some other objects - in her 5th house and she's a tattoo-work-in-progress. She always wanted tattoos, but she only started when she was in her late 30's. Her back is now entirely full and her tatt artist started on her arms now.
I forget the birthday of the artist who did her tatts (and that one tatt that I have, more on that later  ) but I think he's a Virgo sun for some reason. Of course, he's completely covered in them head-to-toe as well. I know for certain that his partner, who does the permanent make-up and piercings, is an Aries sun 
Now, I have a tatt too, and if I can ever find that one thing that I want on my back, I'd probably have my entire back covered as well, but I'm pretty strict about the tattoos - don't want them to get out of hand and I don't really want them to be shown of so they need to be underneath my clothes. I'd say I want 3 tatts in total, one of which I have already, the other one an expansion on that and probably the largest one and a third one on my left leg, probably, and something in colour. I don't really want it to get "out of hand" (not that I don't like people entirely covered in them, I do, I just wouldn't like it much on myself  )
... And I have no Aries, unless you count my full 1st house, of course! I do have Aries on my 5th house, though!

Only like them when they are beautiful or have meaning and are few.Don`t like it if the whole skin is plastered with tatoos.
Don`t think it can be narrowed down to Sunsign alone.
Mars-Venus-Pluto aspects could be prone to this (as Mars rules cutting I think?), though not all people with these aspects will have a tatoo. I don`t. IP: Logged |

My Pisces has 5 or 6 tatoos on his arms, including his astro-sign *Pisces* in chinese characters - he already had it when we met so I really didn't push him.. - and 2 arm band tattoos, and now he wants to fill it up with a lot of  (stars)  No, he doesn't want my name on it. If you ask me what in his chart ..
Hm.. I would say; Pisces-Sun (= chartruler) with ascendant LEO!
(Sun square Neptune). Difficult to explain... (many thoughts in my head now)

It is art, after all... but in my mother's case, it's a bit overdone. The artist is very good, but my mother makes the choices and he only serves the paying customer in the end and in all fairness... it could use more colour, but my mother just doesn't want to use colour. Now her entire body just looks like a sketchbook.
She has 29° Cancer rising, by the way. Not Leo rising, but half her chart is in the 5th house, though. She does have a Leo streak in her from time to time. She loves to show off with her "sketches" and is convinced that people take offense (and she actually enjoys that idea... )
I prefer it more modest myself. I'll never have a tattoo where everyone can see it; I have to at least be able to hide them, because I don't want people to judge me on the basis of them; they're for me personally. If I had something I wanted to show to the world, I'd draw it on a piece of paper, not on myself

For me it feels kind of tough to see it on a man (the instinctive impression I get) but I don't feel the need nor have the courage to walk with it myself.
I also can't FEEL why someone has the need for it.. Saturn (ruler 5th) square Asc/Merc Virgo..

hmmmm,interesting! i'm a capricorn sun, cancer rising with a 5th house scorpio venus (and my mars, jupiter & neptune live there too) and i have quite a few tattoos. i'm with T, i appreciate the art, but also the meaning behind it....

Most of my friends have at least 1 tattoo. I have one and would get more if my mom wouldnt just have a heart attack and DIE if I got amother one lol. Its becoming less taboo... My generation is all about tats and piercings, maybe its because our Plutos in Scorpio? My next tattoo is probably going to be a north node symbol on my foot (cuz its in Pisces and Pisces rules feet). IP: Logged |

I'm an Aries. I don't have any tattoos & I never want any. Sometimes I see tattoos on people that I think looks good, but my personal style is natural (I don't wear makeup nor dye my hair nor wear jewelry besides my nose ring nor paint my nails nor remove any of my body hair).IP: Logged |

Any sign can have them. I personally love them if they have a *real* meaning to them. I'm due for one next year if my finances are straight. I have a Cancer co-worker (Registered Nurse, mind you) that has atleast 6 or 7 of them. Thanks for your opinions.
I was kinda thinking it would be universal. But was wondering about someone that I just met, and is tatted up to the hilt. So this made me wonder what drives someone to do this....don't get me wrong I appreciate the creativity and also the courage to do this all over your body. I have one Tat on my arm with two roses, and a vine going around my arm..
It has a specific meaning for me which I rarely share.. Most people jus think its roses.. I also have a butterfly tat on my breast. IP: Logged |
