Thank you to everyone... I think i understand now but let me try it out here to make sure.
So lets take for example my marriage.
(not sure if these orbs work)

T venus 1'53 scorpio.
N sun/moon MP 0'48 taurus.

T moon 14'13 scorpio
T NN 16'30 scorpio
N IC 17'38 scorpio

SA saturn 13'31 taurus
SA NN 14'14 taurus
SA venus 17'10 taurus
SA moon 19'40 taurus
N MC 17'38 taurus

PR jupiter 27'14 leo
N AC 28'30 leo

SR MC 27'15 leo
N AC 28'30 leo


So is that enough to work as an important date? I'm just unsure of the orbs and variables for it to work.
I'm finding it fascinating how planets line up on certain events and then not at all on others that seem important and yet the planets don't think so.

Yep...Definitely looks like a significant time!
I think the orbs are usually exact but 2 or 3 degrees is def significant if one chart correlates to the other. So you could have a 3 degree orb from your SR chart to your natal MC and exact degree transits to your MC...
ButI wouldn't worry too much about orbs except that they should be within 2 or 3 degrees except when it's the Moon because it moves so fast. Use your intuition though, it's always best!

Ok thanks so much Quinnie, i'm not confused anymore

I'm so visual that l need to understand through seeing it work rather than just sitting on my own with a heap of charts and degrees!
