Well, since I started this site, and for the past decade have given it a pound of my flesh--my bone--my very blood, perhaps only I can answer that question. It is my home, my refuge, my shelter, my extended family, and my escape from the thuderstorms of the world. It is not an Astrology site. It is a Linda Goodman site. Linda was an Astrologer. Some may argue one of the best. I see her more as a great writer and poet. That's how she saw herself. Her way of synthesizing Astrology gave the world many new Astrologers. Her way of sythesizing other topics (in Star Signs and Gooberz) brought the secrets of the ages to the masses and touched lives in ways heretofore unimaginable. The first three Forums are based on Astrology. Many Knowflakes barely leave the first Forum. And that's okay. But that is only three out of twenty-seven (1/9th of Lindaland). Lindaland has much more; each Forum is molded after Linda's writings--all of her writings. Linda saved my life. I love her with a totality few of you will ever understand. I would not be here if not for her. I dedicated a portion of my life to honor her and her memory, and I will defend this home from any desecration, just as you may defend your home. That's what Lindaland means to me. What does it mean to you? ------------------

Lindaland is my safe-haven, My sanctuary.
Our knowflakes are my brethren.I think because we dissect natal charts it gives us an advantage in knowing each other. We're not just a bulletin board where people sound off, we intimately know each other. There are many knowflakes here who's issues and life problems have become my issues. I worry like a sister, and I've even given a few of you a wedgie.  Our Lindaland community must be protected. I suspect this is a safe haven for many of you as well. Randall is my Guru, he is our leader, I have faith in him and I trust him.

I'm no GURU. We all are our own teacher. Gee, U R U. But I love you Lala. And I trust you. I assure you that (despite a few people mistakenly leaving by not knowing the whole truth) all is as it should be. This is happening for a reason. Anyone who wishes to stay, I want them to stay. Anyone who wishes to leave, I want them to leave. I wish everyone well on their journey. And things will go as they are meant to. We are heading in the right direction. A leader has to make the difficult decisions at times for the greater good. But I promise you this sanctuary will always be here for those who want it or need it. You can count on that.  ------------------

LindaLand is my addiction. It is what I run to every morning as my coffee is percolating, eager to see what I missed late the night before. It is a magical, spirited, eye opening place that, since I stumbled upon it, has changed me like nothing else online has. It is a place where, despite the occasional insults hurled, amazing people gather to be generous with their talents and time and to let it all hang out. I am one of the people who my friends say knows a little bit about a lot of things, but I knew almost nothing (it seems) until I dropped into LL. IP: Logged |

It is a community.People NEED community.People need to belong.
They need to know they matter :that someone will miss them if they are not around.LL serves as a community when the current world has us locked away in our houses, often, alone and isolated. Even if we are not isolated,physically,it is hard to find another heart with which we can unburden our sorrows. LL is that to so many people.

Sorry, if people leave but everyone leave place, work, people and so on..The life change!!!People who be around here will come in.,,, We have many good other astrologer in our world. It will be interesting to see what kind of people L.L will bring into this forum in the future. I'm sure this will be good in the end....Nothing to be afraid about. Maybee we not see the good of it now but the future will show.... Not every change are bad... It will be new people/astrologer here after a while. Interesting to see how they think. Lindaland has been my refuge from the mundane chaotic world for years! I've been a member on this site for over 5 years, since I was a wee 17 year old, just learning the basics of astrology. I learned alot about myself through astrology and it transformed me in a lot of ways. I love everyone's insight on here and I can't wait to hear from others of their advancing astrological studies! And Linda really does write in such a rich and fiery way, I can sense that she was a very warm and charming person through her skils at writing! IP: Logged |

Aww...Randall I love this place....Linda's books were my first step into Awareness and for that, there is apart of my Energy this time around that feels "saved by her as well".
I dont really get caught up in the politics here..or anywhere...so I dont really know what has provoked you to want to clean house. But I say have at it brother. I hope Im not on the "naughty" list...  ..Cuz I plan on being here for the life of the site. xo IP: Logged |

Really touching words Randall.Well, I have been through periods where I haven't visited the site for a while, but I always come back to it. I joined when I was just 14 because I love Linda and the way she writes. It was Linda who really inspired me to learn more about astrology and nurture an interest which was already sparked. To this day I rarely go anywhere without taking one of her books with me and when I'm down I read them. This site is like a wonderful extension of that. Being able to come on Lindaland (all of six years ago!) it taught me so much more about astrology (and there's still so much to learn!) and people in general. Being able to discuss interesting situations and issues, and talk to people across the world in a mostly clean and safe online environment is a pretty rare thing.

It is a little difficult to keep up as these days i barely have time to check my email but I just had an urge to drop by and see how everyone is doing. For me, I'm not as attached to Lindaland as some of the other members here, but I would be very disappointed if one day it wasn't here anymore. Lindaland is a very valuable resource for me to learn about astrology and interact with others that also like astrology. While I find it difficult to contribute any knowledge of astrology on my own, I am constantly trying to learn more about it. If I study long enough, I hope to one day be able to interpret astrology charts myself. I haven't gotten to that point, but I use Lindaland to advance my knowledge of astrology and how I can interpret my own placements. I enjoy having an outlet for my astrology needs as well. Lindaland is full of people that know what I'm talking about when I discuss astrology topics. I like that. IP: Logged |
