roadwarriorsdp - not sure you're in the right place here, I'm actually inviting discussion regarding what's beneath and behind the Cancer archetype portrayed in the books. You ain't gonna hear from me that they're 'sensitive, emotional and great cooks', hehe. Boooooooring. I'd say you're dealing with intuitive, complex, sensitive, engimatic individuals, whom you either can't live without or can't wait to get rid of. By all means, share your Cancerian experiences, I'm all ears. IP: Logged |

I completely get it, and GOOD luck I say. That sh*t ain't simple, they stick around like bad smells (referring more to my own situation here, no disrespect to your sis). If you haven't yet worked out how to cut her (and yet keep her, sisterly speaking) and you're about to do so - message me. I'm still working on it. IP: Logged |

Moons of Jupiter: I know how it feels to have no one really answer the original question you meant the thread for. Yes, I hate it when people get off topic on my threads! Lmao! So, I'm gonna add that I really appreciate the fact that you question traditional ways of looking at things. I do the same thing. Not too long ago, I made a thread here about how I didn't think earth signs and water signs were actually all that compatible---both are too serious and shy. People went crazy about how I was calling earth signs "stiff" and serious and such. As expected, earth signs wanted to defend themselves. I think it's great to question the norm. I'm just saying that cancers really are emotional and sensitive, never doubt that for a second. The idea I have of cancers in the real world is that they're very nurturing (always worried about other people's feelings), impatient, energetic, sweet, and independent. I think there is a lot that the traditional zodiac doesn't say about cancers. I think that first and foremost you have to remember that cancer is a cardinal sign. And cancer is just the same as every other cardinal sign is impatient, moody, rebellious, loves questioning and defying tradition, somewhat quiet at times, very independent, outgoing, always has a mind of his/her own---whether that be libra, Aries, or Capricorn---they're all like that. So, sure libras are nice, charming, and talkative, but they are headstrong as hell. They can raise he'll when they're angry. Same goes for every other cardinal sign. Sure, cancers are nice, sensitive, and nurturing, but that doesn't mean they're not abrasive, independent, and sometimes shocking and rebellious like all cardinal signs are. The main objective of a cardinal sign is to be a pioneer. They want to be the first to think or do something. Their competitive streak is high. So, I think before you start looking at the element of water in cancers you should look first at the fact that they are cardinal, because they are definitely not some stuck at home mom or dad, or some traditional conservative prude either. That's why I always thought the cardinal signs belong together..change is what excites them. But change with a purpose. Remember, pioneers need to have purpose first and foremost. To me, all the cardinal signs are pretty similar behind all their social facades. IP: Logged |

Linda Goodman is an Aries- it is not surprising that she writes in a way that fits her personal feelings about certain other signs. Fwiw, her writeup on Libra isn't spectacular either, though you can see she tried to be as objective as possible. IP: Logged |

I totally agree with this. In fact, there's a reason that...
1) The Chariot in Tarot is attached to us so frequently 2) Many of the best leaders in alot of places are Cancerian (Dalai Lama, Zinedine Zidane, need I say more?). I'm sorry, I just don't think many astrologers are creative or imaginative enough when it comes to us (I give Linda alot of slack though because she was writing alot of her stuff in the 60's, 70's, and 80's I think.) Sure we are sensitive, empathic, moody, imaginative....hell, I'll even admit that we can be reserved/shy. But HELLO....we also have a hard ass shell and CARDINAL in our title for a reason. Scorpio may be the deep lake and Pisces the Ocean, but WE'RE the rivers and the tides. We're water that moves and flows....sometimes with deadly effects.
I think that's why I'm moving away from astrology; we get such a bad wrap... and for what? Based on some outdated stereotypes. I have yet to meet a spineless-superdependent-clingy Cancerian to be honest. I've met Cancerian Mooners who fit the stereotype, but thats a different story for a different day.
Anyways, if anyone wants somewhat of a more balanced opinion on Cancers I would go to MysticMedusa...she atleast knows how to fit us into the 21st Century. LOL -Cancer Sun, Mercury, Chiron, Juno, Valentine, and Descendant

Hello there:MoJ - have you read her description of Cancer's from Sun Signs? It's simply lovely and very accurate. http://www.cyberspacei.com/englishwiz/library/names/zodiac/cancer.htm As for Love signs, I did find some of her descriptions a bit lacking, but the Scorpio and Virgo matches were both very well written. I was truly moved by the Scorpio one in particular, but the Virgo one perfectly matched a 7 year relationship I had with a gentleman of that sign. Cancer/Cancer was a travesty (she spent most of the time talking about America being a Cancer). I'm not sure what matches in particular you are reading, but some signs really will struggle to understand us. Most air signs, and even some fire signs will find our personalities annoying and difficult to deal with. It’s not our fault – or theirs – it’s just what happens when you mix such incompatible signs. Kindest regards, Isolaede IP: Logged |

I've never known a positive cancer female and I have ascendant, mars and venus there. I think they are the cruelest, most manipulative, selfish, deceitful human beings on the planet. I don't know who writes these things but I have a strong hunch it's water signs because nothing else explains the whitewashing they get. Kim Kardashian is pathetic the way she is so pathologically jealous of Paris and her sisters. Look at all the famous cancerian females and you'll always find they are cruel to their siblings, stepchildren, somone... and they are worse about never forgiving than any scorpio ever dreamed of being. EX: Olivia DeHaviland, Betty White, Elizabeth Edwards, etc. IP: Logged |

Ummm, Kim Kardashian is a Libra...just to put it out there. *Also, Betty White is a Capricorn. And I highly doubt EVERY cancerian female is a wicked stepmother/stepsister...LOL. IP: Logged |

the ones i have crossed paths with could be described as stallatlarge described, but could be other placements responsible. always wanting someone to do for them and extremely needy, manipulating and bittchy. nothing is ever thier fault either. but they say a person is usually less tolerant of the signs that border thiers than any other. that being said, i would take 3 virgos of either sex over a cancer woman any day of the week.diablo excluded. she seems cool. bm too, but i don't know them in real life. You might be right with the bordering signs theory. I will party with a gemini any day of the week since they appeal to my multitaskingnneverbebored Gemini Venus, but Leo influenced people get up my crawl...and I even have a fire mars! LMAO They do say karmic lessons are never comfortable so maybe that's it. And of course, I too always seem to find exceptions on this site. IP: Logged |
