Hello all.I was wondering if the Imum Coeli really represented our deepest self, our roots, the hidden self noone sees except ourselves? (and maybe people closest to us?)
If so, how do you think it plays out exactly? Mine is in Cancer and I'm much more sensitive and moody than I seem to be (I have a Virgo moon). I am actually emotional but I guess the Capricorn MC doesn't like showing "emo" stuff. I like to take care of those I love.. I am very nurturing and protective. So what do you guys think? my IC is Cancer too! I think of it as what you described but rooted in the idea that it's what you come from- your background. Whereas your MC is what you see yourself becoming and makes you feel real in the world as you get older. Couldn't be more true in my case- my family is very right, homey, and super sensitive if not smothering. I think it's worth it to check out where you IC ruler is. Mine is actually in Capricorn in the 10th- I love my family but they drive me crazy. I feel much more real and calm in a Cappy environment- working, not indulging in emotional stuff, being out in the world and not at home. But at the same time- I can't function without my Cancer ducks in order- I need my home to a nourishing place, I need my down time, I need to feel my family is behind me, I need warm, sensitive relationships. Interesting !Ruler of IC (Moon) is in the 5th, Virgo for me. It's quite afflicted: opposed by Saturn, squared by ASC and Pluto and Mars..conjunct Chiron. Sextile Venus and Jupiter though. (not sure what all this means) I agree with you. I admire Capricorn traits a lot, and would like to integrate them. For now I'm just too busy being emotional (lol), I am not into work AT ALL. And I hate that! I'd like to be more focused on my future career and being ambitious..meh. IP: Logged |

I love the IC, and I really do believe it represents the deepest self. Mine is in Sagittarius, and it completely illustrates why I adore those people the way I do (three of my greatest friends are Sagittarians - two lunars and one solar) so in our synastry they fall right into the core of my 4th house. My MC being in Gemini is also true, too - I want so badly to be this Jack Of All Trades taskmaster and have a career residing in every subject I can get my hands on instead of one thing. IP: Logged |

I have Aqua on the IC.It describes my home as a child.
If felt very cold.
I would walk in the door after school and expect warmth and every day,the coldness of my house would hit me.
It was a warm LOOKING house,brick colonial with ivy growing up the side.
For me,personally,I suppose I am kind of Aqua like in my own home cuz I am nontraditional.
I never cared to have a wedding,dish patterns,matching silverware or things like that lol
With children,I played games on the floor with them.
Aqua is my least favorite sign cuz I have known too many who spout humanitarian rhetoric but will hit an old lady rather than help her cross the street .
I have a thing against Aquas cuz my mother is a Aqua Sun conjunct Merc(exact) in the 12th house.

But you know you seem to be a very "humanitarian" person, you are always willing to help and are friendly to everyone. To me, that's what *real* Aquarius energy is all about. Making changes, even little ones, to improve people's lives. It's also about reforms and evolution, making things better.
Having a Leo MC must be a good thing I think. The power of light, energy, optimism and generosity.
And you have a Cancer Moon ! lovely position. My IC likes

I really don't want to lose myself in trivial.
People today just parade around... Feeling around,self-glorificating beacuse they excell in something they deem as privilegy! No depth,no meaning whatsoever.

My IC is in Aries. My childhood home was a battleground and my life was in danger many times. As a result, my childhood was all about me fighting to survive. On the positive side, I have a very loving mom who instilled in me the strength to conquer any obstacle. I'm very thankful to her for that.IP: Logged |

I have a Cancer IC, and I do feel at home with Cancers and I feel rather Cancer like - My moon (Sag) is also on the 8th house cusp. I can get emotional very quickly and I'm very emotionally sensitive - though I hide it with humor (Gemini Sun/Merc/Venus/Jup)IP: Logged |

Thanks for posting about the IC...I know nothing about it.
Mine is in Leo. That being my deepest self...I can see that. I can pull off modest on the surface. But I feel that "my deepest self" isn't. hahaAnd the childhood part is hard for me to connect...Early child hood was normal enough...oh wait I started dance class at 3 started musical theater when I was 10 did low budget films in middle school and highschool...that sounds kinda leo...That's when me and my mom stoped aprearing "normal" to others. ------------------

I've got IC in Aqua. In 1997 Jupiter and Uranus made a conjunction at 6 Aqua - the degree of my IC. For as long as I remembered I was exposed to my folks arguing. This conjunction precipitated their separation. Consequently I was shunted between the houses of my parents, never staying in the same place for longer than a week or two.I was also the smart kid who came up with all the smart mischief making plans that were put into action by my friends *hehe*. Nothing in my house matches, it's pretty much chaos and it'll probably always be like this. I am also weird and aloof, and I love it. As for the Leo MC, I want prestige in my work, but I feel that I need to develop my NN in Aqua in order get that recognition I want. edit- spelling... IP: Logged |

Herz_Aus_Stein, Cap IC here too. Hmm, there's lots of cardinal IC's replying to this thread! Both of my parents are Caps, though, I don't know what my mom's chart looks like. Childhood was very restrictive and cold, abusive, but I have Jupiter in the 4th, which I think represents my father. He is a really good guy, always encouraging, loving, honest, very strong morals, fair.. opposite of my mother lol.IP: Logged |

In my opinion the IC is stronger than many people think. I think it's a beautiful and magical point in our chart. I have.... Tropical IC in Virgo with Virgo Moon conjunct it from 3rd house. My IC ruler is in my 5th house. I'm not into cleaning my home, though I tend to like things to be minimal...I need space and freedom to decorate and arrange as I please... and I hate excessive clutter ...it makes me feel claustrophobic. I think that being shy,a perfectionist and working on crafts is about it for personality.
I guess that could be enough though, right? ------------------

Hey Doux Rêve,Once again thanks so much for the nice and kind words of my topic. I wanted to replay to a topic that you started so I did some research using the website you gave me which by the way provides very good and detailed information on astrology and I would read more of the articles as it seems interesting to extend the understanding on astrology. I tried to do an online birth chart and it showed me that my Midheaven is in Cancer 18.22 and also it said Mars Sextile Midheaven 2.53 23 which in accordance to the analysis should represent one's public demeanour, and how we present ourselves to the world and socially. I guess that's why I also sometimes feel like many and different illogical feelings in terms of making the right decision and the fact that I am a Taurus makes the process even slower hehe. I am glad to have Cancer in the Midheaven I guess because I hope that helps me in a way for more deeper and emotional understanding of the world around me. And having a Libra moon probably adds to the fact I am always caring how I feel and not being so rational as a typical Taurus I guess. I find it really interesting all those aspects in accordance to where the planets fall and how that in a way influences our personality traits. I would interpret that as having a reponsible, maybe even strict or cold chidhood environment, which forced you to become responsible and serious yourself. I would also think that you present yourself in a soft, quiet, gentle way in society, maybe a bit reserved or shy.
Ps. Your Moon-Pluto conjunction in Libra conjuncts my Venus-Jupiter conjunction, wow !
You must have intense feelings for sure, I have Moon square Pluto and I know what I'm talking about !
