I'm pretty sure there's a past life element because I remember excitedly reading my mom's astrology books when I was a kid. As an atheist I would even make note of people's sign and when they were born, mainly thinking it was funny. I noted that my friends tended to be aries and kind of liked my sign but didn't think there was anything more to it (the whole thing probably didn't exist). After I stopped being an atheist, I felt one of those instinctual draws to it that tend to put me where I need to be. It felt important to study, and people kept referencing astrology when I was reading up on other phenomena which got me more into it. Then I wanted to use it to try to figure out why I am here and what I need to do. I wanted to know where my failings and strengths are, and what I could do to fix them. Uncovering universal truths, or the universal truth, was also a motivating factor. On a side note, it's really fun to look at synastry charts for people you've been with or are close to. To be honest.. I don't know why I'm still studying it. I feel like I should be doing other things. IP: Logged |

BOY was I shocked with all the threads of women complaining about Pisces men... As I started reading them, everything sounded so familiar. It was errie.. I kept googling, and I ended up on Cafe Astrology did my birth chart.. It was pretty accurate... Even things deep inside me was written right in front of me.. I was surprised.. So I started looking more and more into.. Now here I am... STILL trying to figure out a Pisces Man! lol I found my self along the way.. IP: Logged |

I got fascinated by astrology as a teen. I wanted to uncover people's secret/unconscious/subconscious/hidden motivations and impulses, to know more about them than they were willing to tell me.I especially, at age 15, wanted to know how boys I liked felt about me, and how to make them fall in love with me regardless of how they felt. Decades later, I find astrology a useful tool for giving people more accurate advice than I can come to just intuitively--I can see a lot from people's charts that they confirm is accurate or helpful. I have a lot of skepticism about it theoretically, but find is soooo accurate in practice, when I apply it to others. I have an 8th house stellium, Neptune and NN in my 12th, Jupiter in Pisces in the 3rd...all placements I think contribute to my interest. IP: Logged |

I did my chart on astro.com out of curiosity and saw that there were correlations between my chart and my life. Then I kept reading about Pluto in Cappy and how that would conjunct half my chart in the space of 12 years. I saw how Pluto effects me in he past and I want to use astrology to get the most out of my transits and my future. IP: Logged |

My grandfather committed suicide on January 25,1998. I was an atheist at the time. I was at his funeral, and I was praying for his soul so deeply,I felt something change in me. I had started searching for the meaning of life. I was wondering if he was going to hell for killing himself. I had asked the Catholic Chaplain in the navy, and he told me that he wasn't going to hell because he wasn't in his right mind when he killed himself. A coworker told me that he was going to Hell. I started consulting psychics. I started getting involved with New Age stuff including buying a book,Your Psychic Potential(my first New Age/Metaphysical book)as well as tarot cards. I was very skeptical of Astrology. I really thought it was bullcrap. I even teased an Aquarian friend for believing in it. She did accurately guessed that I have a bit of a temper just from knowing I am a Scorpio, and I was shocked. After my grandfather's death,I started looking into a little bit..checked out sunsign stuff. It was June 28,1998,I completely opened my mind to Astrology. I had a numerology reading at a psychic fair that was amazingly accurate. The day before, I had readings(including pastlife reading) at psychic fair that were accurate. I bought a book on Scorpio. I read it deeply, I could resonate with the Scorpio stuff, but I felt my mom was like the Scorpio mother too even though she's a Gemini. I could identify with the traits of a Scorpio. I learned about moonsigns, and there was a moon table in the Scorpio book. I found out that my moonsign is Pisces, and I checked out the traits of Pisces in my tarot book, and they fit me to T. They were the traits that I have which my Scorpio didn't have. That really opened up my eyes to Astrology. On a hunch, I checked to see if my Gemini mother's moonsign is Scorpio, and I was right. That really blew me away. When I was stationed in Diego Garcia, I read people their sunsigns and their moonsigns, and they really identified with the traits. I bought astrology reports, and I was blown away by the accuracy. My mother even agreed with the accuracy. We were convinced that Astrology was a cosmic form of psychology. I learned about my being a psychic, emotional sponge because of reading my Astrology reports and reading about Moon in Pisces. I even realized that having Moon in Pisces AND Moon square Neptune indicated that I was too much of a sponge, and that I didn't belong in the navy. I realized that I was absorbing people's negatively bigtime. I realized that I needed to get out of the navy. I was very depressed and stressed a lot in the navy. I was constantly on ships with very low morale. I was often depressed, stressed out to sea. I was always around guys who missed their wives, children, girlfriends, and were homesick..especially when we went on 6 month deployments. To make the long story short, I became a major believer in Astrology. Reading about Carl Jung using Astrology for psychological insights got me seriously into psychological Astrology. I started reading anything that I get my hands on that had to do with Astrology. I read stuff over and over and over again until I absorbed it on a deep level. I devoted my life to helping others with Astrology to use it to help understand themselves as it helped to understand me.
None of this would be possible if my fellow Pisces Moon grandfather didn't commit suicide. It was during a Pisces Moon in 1999,I had a hunch that he had Moon in Pisces. His suicide was the catalyst got me returned to my believing in God again and opened the door to my metaphysical journey that eventually led me to Astrology. I accurately guessed my father had Pisces Moon like me in 1998. On Dec 31,2002,my guess was finally confirmed when I found him in California death record index and got his birthdate info. He was born Jan 2, 1941. I accurately guessed the moonsigns of both my parents. Mother - Scorpio Moon and my Father - Pisces Moon. My exgirlfriend,Meghann was a Scorpio Moon and I am Pisces Moon. Astrology is incredibly insightful. It's a shame that it's dismissed as a pseudoscience. The day that I completely opened up to Astrology: My Moon was progressed in Aquarius.

Well as kid I got told I was an Aries. So I was like "okay I'm an Aries"...I knew that it was suppose to describe my personality. But didn't really know or care about horoscopes back then, ya know I was just a kid.But then in my late teens when I was going though A LOT of changes I started getting really into teen magazines like cosmogirl and seventeen. And was all geeked and gung-ho when my Aries horoscope came true. That's how I became a beliver...And would always look forward to the next magazine to know what my fortune would be! But yes, me desperate for clues and answers. With thoughts running though my head like "does he like me?, when will I have a boyfriend?, will I get some soon?, will I pass my math class?, will I graduate?...will I make new friends that arn't insecure b*tches that wanna take sh*t out on me?" I eventully started reading my myspace horoscope every day.(remember that people!? lol) And eventully started venturing out to other websites. In 2008 I learned about natal birth charts. And it really explained a lot about who I am. And the past couple of years I've been learning about asteroids, fixed stars, dwarf planets ect. And what roles they play in astrology and how they affect me. So I would say that for me... -Astrology is a good way to soul search and help find your self -Can help you find answers -Know when the tables will turn in your favor(mwahahaha!!) -To know about others around you ------------------ Hi! I've been a member here for a little while, and I enjoy it. I pretty much come on here when ever I have lotsa down time, sometimes often, and other times its not for a while. I started reading about astrology in the newspaper and from online source in the morning.Just as a morning habit to start my day, didn't rally think much about it. Then I started becoming currious why some people act certain ways in a diffrent approach. ---------------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus IP: Logged |

This thread is great. For me i think it is my Sun trine Pluto and pluto in the first---an inner drive to know myself very well. Well, it all started in middle school when I had my third crush ever. He seemed to like me back, but the more i got to know him, the more I realized he was like an arrogant jerk. I was best friends with his leo guy best friend, so i would always have a chance to talk to him. But something in me told me to keep my defenses up. Then it was his birthday and i looked up his sign. Turns out he was an Aries---and the description fit him perfectly. So did, especially, the description of how cancer and aries get along. I saw him in college and completely ignored him. I felt like even the expression on his face and the way he'd look at people was arrogant and annoying so I didn't even bother, though he seemed pretty disheartened that I was avoiding him.Anyway, from then on I knew that astrology was true. My sun sign also described me perfectly. Afterwards I saw also that my sad is an Aries and that it describes him perfectly as well, and that it described my mom and my grandma, too, for their sun signs. Then I got into the heavier stuff, later when i found out that there were such things as aspects and more than just ur sun sign. I did my chart reading cafeastrology and thought it described me well, but when I was really blown away was when i would look up the meanings of my closest natal aspects online and in the astrologyweekly database. Spot on. Also "Aspects in Astrology" by Jan Spiller was a book that described exactly how my persobality came to be, thanks to each individual aspect. Wow. I was blown away. Then i started doing composites. I was astounded that my best friend and i had such great synastry and composite. But what got me really excited is that my crush since I was 5 i had double whammy moon trine neptune, moon trine pluto, and moon trine saturn, and sun conjunct jupiter as well as venus conjunct mars, venus trine uranus, and, sun sextile moon, and venus conjunct venus. The idea that he could like me back was the most exciting feeling in the world. He would flirt with me, but it never went to more than that, unfortunately. My second crush was in elementary with a guy who i had a composute sun-mercury-venus stellium with. We also had nice synastry, but i decided he was too much to handle--too wildly outgoing for me--a party animal. We still keep in touch. I've had many crushes after that, but the fact that I have composite sun-conjunct venus with all of them gives me hope that my crushes at least are going to think I'm cool, because i noticed potential for a reason, right? Sun conjunct venus is true love after all! Today i've kinda moved on from looking at composites to just looking at people's individual charts. I find i can understand why things might not work out a lot better that way. I wish i could prove astrology is true. My capricorn friebd can guess people's sun signs! Maybe we should get together and try to prove astrology somehow? IP: Logged | |
