Well, what reason did he give for breaking up with you?One possibility is that he was interested in you, but even more attracted to someone else...so instead of lying to you and getting involved with two people, he ended things to pursue a different relationship.
Another possibility is that he was thinking nice things at the time and wanted to say nice things, but contemplating the situation on his own when he wasn't with you, he decided for various reasons he did not want to stay with you.
I'm confused why his friends would make fun of him for being with you--he's in his late teens, not 10 or 11. But that may be another reason, as you suggested. He has some feelings of attraction, but wants to be with someone his friends would accept as his girlfriend?
Hmmm's horary interpretation sounds helpful--that he was mildly attracted and interested, and now he is sort of indifferent. The reason he acted attracted was that he was feeling that at the time.
A lot of these other possibilities sound more plausible than that he is wildly into you, yet told you he did not want to be with you anymore out of fear of getting hurt.
But even if that were the explanation, which is so unlikely, he still decided not to be with you in any way anymore, and he politely told you that decision. He probably wasn't lying.
But it was a horary question--so what do you think of Hmm's interpretation?
