It's so refreshing to finally hear that there are other people out there who feel the same way and struggle with not only Fire and water and but water moon, fire sun.... I have been trying to figure out why I I've always wanted real love so bad, and other people can live without it or don't really want or need it??? LOL ... finally getting a grip on it... well at least understanding it can let me brace for a fall from my fantasy world ..

I am Leo Sun/Cancer Moon and let me tell you this is an interesting way to live life. Definitely conflicted at times. I am not your typical Leo - I have some Leo traits but I never really fit the standard Leo profile. A couple of years ago I came across this Sun/Moon description and then it all made sense to me.

I don't have a cancer moon (I'm moon in Cap) but I also get lost in relationships (you can blame that on my desc in pieces). i think separating yourself from others is hard when you have so much water in your chart.

Cancer positions can be tricky. Very sensitive, intense emotions, insecure. But, on the other hand, good at comforting, and, as I said, the cooking thing ;-)

Awww, it's Mother's Day, and I'm about to go see her, but this post made me think about my Mommy, she's pretty Cancerian herself.
Here's her chart (it's such a good chart for a Mommy!):

She's Cancer Moon and Ascendant, with Sun conjunct the IC. She and my father were together for about 8 years before they had me, but they divorced when I was about 1.5 y.o. They have crazy synastry, and it was a tumultuous relationship from what I hear. Anyway, he was Moon in Aqua, and he would take off for days at a time all of the time, and I think it really really really hurt her.
Now she's in a completely passionless relationship, they never even shake hands, it's like they're roommates with a child (so obviously something was happening at some point, but not anymore).
Sometimes she gets drunk and tells me all about how much she "loved my father, and she'll never feel that way about anyone again!!", and it makes me really sad because I'm like, "that jerk???". He's totally selfish, and it's apparent that 99.9% of his actions serve his own agendas. He likes to laugh when he sees others in misery, then curses the heavens at his most minor strokes of bad luck. And he knows he's a turd, so he puts on a noble kind face when he first meets people, then when he has them where he wants them, turns into Mr. Hyde.
Plus, I'm extra bitter because I could have counted the number of times I saw my dad on my two hands before the age of 15, when I became so out of control that my Mom sent me to live with him (he lived in a "house" made out of driftwood and tarps attached to a travel trailer, with no running water and an outhouse, and had the audacity to brag that he'd never paid a day of rent in his life.) And he's a Virgo too, so he would get angry at me for not keeping the place up to his standards - OMG he had a dirt floor, what do I do, SWEEP IT!? LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!
So, anyway, yeah; Cancer Moons can be clingy, but I think that they can also offer some of the sweetest love there is. But maybe that's just my 7H Venus in Cancer talkin'. If someone wanted to drown me in the watery depths of their love in the living room, I think I would savor every second of it (but maybe that's just because I'm a female??).

Just to give a male double aqua perspective, I actually like a girl to be a bit clingy, it makes me feel loved,Lol i know I'm an oddity.I dated a cancer girl and I loved how she was always showing me affection and letting me know she cared. But she went a bit overboard,like if I didn't answer her texts or calls within 5 minutes she would assume I was mad or hurt etc and freak out, when in reality I was just busy. I love cancer placements and if I could find a cancer girl who would give me just a little room to breathe, I would marry her .

Dude, that can't be due to your double Aqua or Taurus Moon. Cuz my mom is a double Aqua w/ Cancer Moon and she can't stand clinging. At all. And she never calls or texts anyone....just emails once in a while, and rarely responds when anyone emails her.

Aquas may be an Air sign but way less communicative on a personal level than Gems & Libras.

I have Cancer moon and even I'm not that bad...I at least wait like three days before I start worrying. Evidently, I can be out-Cancered. I feel more normal now ;-)

On a serious note, though, I can relate to worrying that people are upset with me, worrying what I did to cause it, etc. It just takes a little longer for it to happen to me than to sun-sign Cancers, but the Cancer moon does kick in eventually.

Maybe not. I've dated Aqua Suns and Moons who acted just like your Cancer did. THREE of them had Aqua Sun and Venus. That was the last thing I was expecting from them.

I'm a Libra, with a Libra Mercury. We like to TALK. We're socializers.

Geminis and Aquas are social, too, but in different ways than Libras. Libras are fascinated with people and relationships. Geminis like to chat and get bored easily, so talking pushes away boredom and gives them a chance to talk. Aquarians tend to be humanitarian, but less personal socially. That is, they tend to care more about people in a general sense and in activisty sorts of ways, and not be as 'present' in personal relationships. That's not to say that Aquarians are incapable of having close personal relationships, though.

I can be that way to an extent,but its not because i dont like communicating or being close to people, its just that i get drained talking to people all the time, and need some time to recharge, periodically i will become a hermit and not communicate with anyone for a week or 2, then after my alone time i am back to my normal old self and ready to mingle again.

Yes I can be very emotional and yes I can get easily hurt at something small someone says or does, but i don't get really clingy i guess?

When I like someone, I love their attention (obviously) and when they suddenly don't give me as much attention as before I just try to reason it. Maybe he's busy and maybe there's another reason, but I try not to be clingy because i don't WANT to be clingy and because i hate clingy people. I love my own freedom, so why wouldn't i give it to someone else?

Maybe I'm a different kind of Cancer moon person, I don't know, but when someone gives me too much attention (even though i like him a lot) it just suffocates me and it irritates me. So if these actions of other people give me this feeling, why would i do it back?

I don't want to be clingy and I try not to, but I do love reassurance
I guess that's my Taurus sun and Cancer moon speaking haha.

Cancer moon conjunct Saturn in retrograde has mad a mess of relationships for me. (Moon is the ruler of 7th house)

Granted I'm a guy but I'm currently interested in a cancer moon woman, whose moon and north node conjunct my moon and Saturn.

Already seeing saturn screw it up ...
