Well, most of you guys will already know that I'm a Scorpio sun, but my sun is in 12th and conjunct Saturn... I also have Scorpio Pluto, but as that is a generational planet, I don't really pay too much personal attention to Pluto's position in Scorpio. (It's position in 11th says a lot more about me )

And... I'm either loved or liked, or just not noticed. I can honestly count the amount of people who hate me on one hand and there would still be room for more haters. I'm probably disliked here and there as well, but how people feel about me is often not a black-and-white affair

I might just be an exception to the rule, or perhaps the rule is for Scorpio rising, not Scorpio sun

I have 1st ruler Uranus placed in Scorpio. I am loved and hated both equally. I guess the hate is really love disguised at hate.

From what I have read on the basic personality traits of a Scorpio is black and white thinking. Either like or dislike, like marmite apparently. How I hate that phrase.

yes, scorpio is all about extremes...so, i guess you could say we are very black and white about things....and i wouldnt say that hate is love disguised as hate, i call it jealousy

I ,and everyone,is put on this earth to be an expression of themselves and to find God,imo.
I have my own note to sound,as we all do.
Finding that note and singing it is my task.
If I am hated for that note ,so be it.

Ami: absolutely right!

No one has learned anything by doing everything by the book. I got that a lot when I was 18 and quit school to work, my mother always told me to learn from her mistakes, but I can honestly say now that I've learned more from making my own mistakes than from the knowledge that someone else has made that mistake before me... There was this quote I heard once, it said: "You only learn something when you do it wrong and learn how not to do it."

When I was learning these lessons at 14,it didn't seem as hard as it does now.
What are people's experiences with this?

When I got first started to get into astrology about 10 years ago I always found Scorpio and the 8th house to be the most interesting of all the signs/houses, maybe this was all due to my goth aesthetic at the time, but any personality that represents all things hidden can be very appealing to those that live on the fringes of society. My best guy friend is a Scorpio and so is my boyfriend, neither are big into astrology and have those great scientific minds, however both have asked me why Scorpios get such a bad rap, and I've always replied by saying that the 8th house represents everything not talked about in polite society. Death, rebirth, the occult, transformation through suffering, evolution, sexuality and the subconcious. Definitely not subjects you would easily discuss in a public setting, unless of course, you're me.
I honestly can't say that I've ever had a negative experience with a scorpio, with the exception of one, who always acted like a spoiled brat, def a huge turn off. But for the most part I have found that below all the secrecy, aloofness and extremism, all the scorpios I have known were actually quite boring. Ok, ok, I know all the Scorpios on here are going to be ranting over the word "boring" but honestly, all my scorpio friends live by a strict schedule and follow a daily routine, they're also laid back in conversation and enjoy food almost as much as an earth sign. I have a theory that all the hooplah that goes into being a scorpio is really just a cover for how traditional they are. Now, this isnt to say that I don't have my suspicions. There are days I wonder what exactly my boyfriend "is doing." And if I found out tomorrow my super straight laced friend was actually the leader of a drug cartel, I cant say I would be surprised. I often think this duality is a matter of survival and not a representation of who they are as people. My boyfriend's motto is "do what you have to do." although he rarely ever reacts in a vengeful way and is actually quite hesitant to defend himself. There have been many times he has let things go, or turned the other cheek, situations where I would have been raving mad. That being said, I do have a gut feeling that he is willing to be "ugly" if need be. That the "do what you have to do" motto goes deeper than I am capable of understanding.

Your post is brilliant,MFW.
You got the key I have been trying to access.
The Scorpio is called upon to look on ugliness because they SEE it.
I had such keen perception when I was a child. Then,I lost touch with my deepest self, the Scorpio one who KNEW.
I was afraid of ugliness after that, very afraid.
I thought I was bad for my own ugliness.I could not see other people's ugliness, anymore, just my own.

A Scorpio who is confused on this subject is a troubled Scorpio.

Thank you for your post!!!!

I ,always, think of you when I think of Saturn in the 12th cuz we discussed it.
You said that it brings a sense of defeatism to things before they even start,if I have this right.
Saturn in the 12th may be one of the hardest 12th house placements.
The 12th house is hard no matter how you cut it.
Neptune in there is the only exception,I think.
I suppose life consists of finding our "fits" with people and jobs.
It could be honed down to "You got to find your weird-o"

Saturn in the 12th is depressing because of 1) collective consciousness of the 12th plus the guilt of saturn = Existential guilt. 2) you're always wondering whether life has meaning, or if its just random. That's why even though I respect athiests as good Universal-Law people like everyone else, I find their philosophy completely depressing at times. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone in this thread, but those are my feelings.

12th house issues are personalized for me because Saturn is my chart ruler, so it isn't entirely a bad placement when you get past the doldrums of it. I like having my own inner world, though I wish my karma wasn't exponential compared to everyone else's. I guess Frida Kahlo (Another Cancer/12th houser) thought the same way....and look at what her twelfth house gave to us (Or look at 'What the water gave to her'.

But that's not what this thread is about so I'll stop.

Thanks Ami! You said something interesting, I have noticed that amongst all the scorpios I have encountered, many of them were VERY aware of the motives of others, more so than the individual themselves. I'm a very logical person and therefore have a short fuse with people, mainly because I really want people to make sense, and of course no human could ever make sense. The scorpios in my life have really helped me to evolve by teaching me how the motives of others do make sense, to the person who is displaying the behavior. I see Scorpio as the natural observer, someone who absorbs a situation, a setting or a collective group and sums it down to its most basic form. I have often wondered if one reason Scorpios ignite fear in people is because of their ability to see through the B.S. I have noticed that Scorpios appreciate nothing more than people who are totally honest with themselves.

It is a very scary thing to SEE through BS when people are telling you "No, you did not see that, feel that etc"
You know you did.
That is Scorpio sight.
You see it. You know it.
If you don't trust it, you are in deep doo- doo and I mean deep lol

Pluto on the MC makes a strong Scorpio according to Lonake.
I feel like I am a strong Scorpio even with the Gem placements--Gem Sun, Mercury and Venus.
Scorpio is hard for me .Gem and Cancer are not.
That is prolly why feeling like I am a strong Scorpio is such a struggle and it is.
I am really struggling with this lol

Well, I used to be strong ,have good boundaries, be true to myself.
I lost it all in a soupy mess from which I could not come up and breathe air.
I SEE how people are mentally ill. They cannot help it.
I,always, had a part of me that would not let me get in to the hands of those jerks i.e. mental health professionals lol

I knew that once I did,I was screwed
