I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that the Moon Sign is indeed a better indicator of character than Sunsign - or that at least, the Sunsign is more secondary to the Moon sign.

I don't know about you but I am MUCH more like my Moonsign (Pisces) than Sunsign - not at all like typical Aries I know, the energy is way different. It could be compounded by the fact that my Venus and Jupiter are also in Pisces, I give off a lot of Neptunian energy and have been "guessed" as either a Virgo (my rising sign) or Pisces, or Cancer, I am very delicate/ ethereal-looking and sensitive, and much more prone to moodiness and needing to *recharge* than most Aries I know.

I've known a lot of other Pisces Mooners and without exception we are ALL caring/emotional, love staying in contact with people (and get upset when they don't reciprocate), usually very artistic, neurotic, liable to have several different relationships throughout our lives/ commitment phobic, very physically attractive and sexy/ into pleasing a partner, intuitively intelligent, capable, adaptable and flexible. Deceptive streak. Slightly *dangerous* because of all the above qualities!!!!!

Aries Moons are very success-driven, usually successful in anything they apply themselves to (academe, business or otherwise); uphold high standards, love sex, busy people, good people to have in authority, work and play hard (good work/ life balance), good decision-makers, cut-and-dried views.

Taurus Moons are not usually particularly driven, academic or ambitious, they like food, animals, nature, are quite happy to find a comfortable rut and stick to it. Have a strong sense of entitlement and often end up being *cared for* by others, especially in a material sense (slight sense of laziness here?).

Leo Moons prefer others to do most of the work - popular, good conversation partners and good sense of humour, I find they can be good friends but a little critical. Love food and are liable to weight gain. Strong sense of "ME".

Sadge Moons: Active, sporty, cheerful, breezy, champion networkers, don't like negativity AT ALL, always see glass as half full rather than half empty, brutally frank and open, unfaithful, at heart not domestic, good sense of humour. I do love these guys!!!

Aqua Moon: Good at garnering popular appeal - a lot of celebrities have this placement, very intelligent and often academically so, can be ground-breakingly creative, unusual relationships to others/ lifestyle? Can be difficult to get to know (unless other placements suggest otherwise).

That's just my take. Feel free to add agreement/ objection where necessary.

Love,

Lyra

No.

Ascendant, is the outer personality we show to the world, while the sign the ruling planet (ASC RULER) is in shows what you are like deep down.

While these sun sign books (ta Linda) are very informative, they look at personality from a planet point of view as opposed to a houses point of view.

You need to start looking at astrology from a house point of view.

If you are Cancer rising, you will be like your moon sign. If you are Leo rising, you are more like your Sun sign.

Well, I'm Leo, Capricorn Rising, Cancer Moon...and my chart ruler (Saturn) is conjunct my Moon....and I am overwhelmingly like my Sun.

I look like a Leo, and my interests are all Leo interests and 8th house interests (my Leo Sun is in the 8th, but I'm not that Scorpionic, I'm just so interested in sex, death, mysteries, deep research, psychology, the subconscious)...and then Leo interests (true love, theater, the arts, fun).

I have a pitcher chart with 3rd house Pisces Jupiter as the spout--I also relate to that planet a lot. I feel very uncomfortable with my Cancer planets, like they're not the "real me." In my draco chart, my Cancer placements become Libra, and that feels much more like "me."

A brilliant virgo resting in the house of spirituality?

Possibly, but that is tooting my own horn too much

Virgo in the 12th House.

My moon sign seems to take over majority of the time, I have a Sun in Libra with a Moon in Cancer. But I am very sensitive to people and situations around me, I also enjoy being alone when I have time...others have told me time and time again that I can be pretty moody lol I've never been mistaken for a social butterfly.

I don't even know anymore....I'm a very moody, spacey, and extremist Virgo Mooner. I guess I feel more like my sun (cancer) but its filtered out through my moon. I love to read and do earthly things, but I think its 8th house placement and Lilith conjunction really modifies things a bit. I have what me and my good Scorpio Mooner friend call 'hateful days'. When I know I've been slighted or wronged, I tend to have extremist tendencies....as in, cutting myself off completely from the source of the trouble.

I am a bit of a hermit at times, I like lots of time to recharge...the common point between both my Sun and my Moon. I know I do have alot of Virgoan tendencies, like an eye for detail and that annoying particularness, but I'm definitely not a pure Virgo Moon. It would be a nice break though.

I have a Cancer Moon AND Rising...Aquarius Sun. When I was a bit younger I definitely felt my the Cancer more in my personality. As I have grown up and become more comfortable in my own skin, I feel my Aqua Sun more. It is who I am to the core, and I even feel like I may present myself as more of an Aquarius to strangers. I almost feel like my Cancer side is reserved for people close to me that I want to nurture.

I only have two placements in Aquarius but I feel EXTREMELY Aquarian thanks to my moon, despite all the earth in my chart. My Uranus isn't very prominent nor do I have anything but my south node in my 11th house, so I think that's interesting.

I have a Pisces sun with an Aries moon and Cancer ascendant. Because Cancer is ruled by the moon I feel the Aries very strongly but my Mars is in Sagittarius so I'm even MORE fiery. I love Ares and Sag suns and moons and I also have an affinity for Aquarians. Due to an absolute lack of any fixed signs, I love anyone fixed, though. Aquarians just crack me up with their different drummer, 100% it is what it is and I'm me regardless of how you feel about it attitude. I definitely identify more with someone's moon but I think it's due to my Cancer ascendant. Milk that doesn't require refrigeration makes me uneasy. That is all. Kthxbye.

I also think we need to take into consideration the house in which the moon is placed as well as the ascendant (which was mentioned) as well as any planets that are placed on the ascendant. For me, my moon is in taurus in the 12th house and my ascendant is taurus but my mars is right smack on my ascendant. Personally, I feel that none of the descriptions of taurus fit me. I've been told that I'm very ambitious/driven, tend to lead the charge and take care of those around me (due to the mars influence). Emotionally, though, I keep my thoughts to myself, am very intuitive to the point that I sometimes have ESP but I also love to stay in contact with others and hate it when they don't reciprocate (especially if I like them).

Don't hate me, but that sounds like Taurus with some Pisces mixed in. Lol.

Yeah I can relate Lyra, I'm a Leo Sun with Pisces Moon. Neptune also aspects my my Sun and Neptune is located in the 1st house, so I definitely have a very Neptunian vibe. I also know another Aries Sun with Pisces Moon, she is very emotional and kinda lives in the past a bit, he is also a hypcondriac. So I think that the cardinal energies of Aries kinda dramatizes the Pisces Moon. Its weird because mu Aries friend also has the same ASC. as me, but I am much more introverted and don't talk about myself as much...

Well I'm an Aries with a Capricorn Moon in the 8th (Cancer AC) and Mars conj Neptune in Capricorn.. and Pisces Mercury and Pisces Jupiter.. Some would say I have a "heavy" chart overall..

and guess what?

I'm still AN ARIES!

And I'm PROUD of my so-called Aries traits LOL

I can relate to many of these truth be told.

I am a brave person. I've been through Saturnian sh*t in my life for sure but I always came out on top. I can look on the bright side at the end of the day. I appreciate being alive - as most fire sign people... There are others who seem more fascinated by death.
Not me! ^
I'm an idea person. I have huge initiative - it comes very naturally to me. I hear about people having trouble with this kind of thing and having to really *milk* their mind for an idea... I get like 20 different ideas per minute lol
Seeing things through is another issue though LOL (but that's more so a Taurus trait).

AND most of all:

- I LOVE MYSELF!!

I'm also glad that I've reached a point of genuine self-love and self-appreciation in my life.. and a point where I am proud to say this publicly. I would just as happily say it in RL.. I think this is very important!

So many of my friends seem to not be able to love themselves. It is a painful thing to watch.
I find that by liking myself (warts and all) I am a much better person towards others. I don't feel anger or envy towards them. I don't feel threatened by them. I LIKE people - because - I LIKE myself -- as strange as that might sound.

^^ Actually that's another classic Aries trait right there ^
It is extremely rare and uncommon for me to feel "envy".

-----

This is not to say I don't see the traits of my Capricorn or Pisces placements. In many ways I do - because I can be pleasant and laid back. I like to relax sometimes and enjoy the sunshine. The watery/earthy chart keeps my ego in check.. I can appreciate everything/everyone - including myself... and yet see them clearly. I don't have a BIG head or think that I am above or beneath another -- or think that my qualities are somehow better than other people's qualities.. but I'm self aware/proud of my qualities (and emotionally mature enough - at this point in my life - to finally realise that I needn't be modest in saying that!).

Is it possible for the people who don't identify with certain signs -- that you primarily do not identify with some of the classic negative things said about those signs?..

Or perhaps, some of the really exaggerated things said - whether positive or negative?

For instance, astrological interpretations often exaggerate with Aries/Leo/Scorpio - so I am not at all surprised when people of these signs talk about "not relating".

With Aries, it goes from -- "You are a superhero and you are going to save the world from... errr... well.. umm.. all of the things that are attacking it??" to "You are an aggressive, violent killing machine"

With Scorpio, it goes from "You are the most emotionally deep and intense person the world has ever seen. Why Ghandi himself has nothing on you." to "You are evil and revengeful. You will one day become a world-renowned terrorist"

With Leo it goes from "You are the most confident, beautiful, perfect specimen of a human being and you know it. You will become KING/QUEEN of England... if you are indeed in England. If not - You will become president of....... something. Congratulations!" to "Your ego could literally be out of this world. We have, in fact, designed methods to *get* it out, because frankly we just can't take it anymore."

It is simply exaggerated and it goes from insanely positive things to very negative things.

I relate to and am most comfortable with my libra placements. I have taurus rising and my venus is in libra in the 6th house. My pisces moon in the 12th feels like hmm, sort of like a monkey wrench in my chart. I mean it has it's perks, don't get me wrong and I wouldn't change it if I could it's just, it's a tough placement in relation to the rest of my chart. Where as my Libra placements are free and easy for me to express and I like them very, very much

Yeah, I forgot, whatever house the natal moon is located also really effects the otherall chart.

For instance natal Pisces Moon is located in the 3rd house, and I have Sun conjunct Mercury and Jupiter in Gemini sqauring natal Moon, so that means I'm always in my thoughts, constantly and very introspective, which isn't very Leo at all. But I certainly look like a Leo and people have quoted me as "walking with a purpose."

Outer personality... It doesn't even sound right!
One is sooner to hit Sun,Moon,Saturn deep down rather than Asc Ruler, which is,undoubtely very imortant, informative, forming, and point of matter, both Asc ruler's sign and house position.

This topic knows no end....

In a way I understand why a lot of people would identify with their moon sign more than their sun-sign.And visa-versa at times.

When the moon sign is in a more "dominant" sign, its qualities tend to be exaggerated to the detriment of the Sun.When the Sun sign is in that position, the same is true for the moon.

A lot of times I read that the sign on the ascendant as well as the ascendant ruler, does tend to influence the personality somewhat.

Well, I have Taurus Asc with Venus in Scorpio and have never really felt a strong affinity with Taurus or Scorpio sun signs.
I also have moon in cancer and don't have a single Cancerian friend.

I have, however, noticed that despite my water-heavy chart(moon, venus , Saturn and Pluto), I still form the conventional Sag relationships.

I've had memorable relationships with Gemini, Leo and Libra.

I am actually trying an Aries out for size right now and , despite being put off by their "me first approach" at time, it's going suprisingly well....

I read somewhere that Sun sign indicates principles and ideals whilst the moon indicates inner awareness or perceptions.

Basically, if you have a water moon, you may perceive life very subjectively and have a rich inner emotional awareness.

This can lead you to identify yourself as being emotional, cautious and introverted. I think all this "introspection" can lead to having very little room of awareness of your Sun-sign role in your character.

This can also be visa-versa.

In my experience,I think one at first has to learn to balance them, then go beyond them to intergrate the other parts of the chart until they come to a point where they get on with everybody and see each bond as unique.

Experiment still pending...

I'm a Libra, Sag rising and Pisces moon, and I feel I identify more with my moon - I am very emotionally tuned in to everything around me, and feel things probably too deeply! I do have Libran traits, and my Sag dictates my philosophical attitudes and restlessness, but there's a whole load of Scorpio in my chart, too, which I feel works well with my moon.

Nope i actually feel more like a mixture of Cancer and libra, my sun and rising respectively. I think i mostly try to repress the leo moon in me, and i express the venus and mars in leo a lot better. Just because cancer is already emotional enough, libra is already needy enough---I dont need leo moon also in there begging for attention lol

I would say I identify most with libra though. Like, the libra women I've met?---my personality right there.

Not really. Like the moon going through signs, I go through my sign modes. Right now with a large number of planets sitting on my venus - I am feeling my sensitive Venus in Pisces self.

I am a strong introvert - could do with the RX planets in my chart.....

Do you know what I find? That other Moon in Pisces people are the best friends for Moon in Pisces. We can understand our particular brand of self-pity SOOO much better than others. It's true!

Like when one Piscean Mooner sits at the table with thier head in their hands and a "vibe" coming off them and says, "oh god, I'm f***ing my life up, my family hate me, I don't know why, but they just do, and everything's cr*p, and I feel like sh*t" the other Piscean Mooner will say: "I feel you, man. Have a cup of tea.".

Maybe I ought to seek out a male Piscean Mooner life partner - trouble is these guys also get PMS and are quite high-maintenance LOL...

Don't do it! At one point I was really into this Gemini Sun/ASC. with Pisces Moon, he was a basket case and it didn't help that he had sexuality issues...
