Hi All! WOW There are so many watery Mercury people here. I'm curious -- When you first meet someone and you make casual conversation -- what topics make you most comfortable? What do you LIKE to talk about? Different people like talking about different things. I love being psychologically analytical. This is one of the reasons why I always feel at ease with Scorpio/Pisces Mercury. I like discussing psychological undercurrents, what makes people tick etc. I'm also curious about emotional and sexual undercurrents and what's hiding beneath the surface. When I'm with a fellow water Mercury - we always end up talking about OTHER people... and we always end up analysing them. This is not at all done in a nasty way... It's just that we enjoy psychoanalysing others - as a hobby. Earth sign Mercuries get very frustrated with this sort of conversation ^ They prefer discussing politics, news and so forth. They find the watery-style a bit futile. At least that has been my experience. Air sign Mercuries like discussing music/movies - they like acquiring new information and giving others information about all sorts of things - social events, whatever is happening that week etc. Fire sign Mercuries want to be entertained in conversation. They make each other laugh. They often focus on the present and talk about themselves and the person they are with. The rest of the world fades to grey when they are together. It's a very different dynamic. What do you think? IP: Logged |

Mercury in Pisces in the 9th. I have a Grand Trine in Water with my Moon in Cancer in the 12th and Pluto in Scorpio in the 5th, making a Kite with Venus/Neptune in Capricorn in the 6th. I guess for me it's hard to tell where my Mercury starts and stops. But I do daydream a lot! IP: Logged |

It really just depends on how well Mercury is doing in your chart. I have a Taurus Mercury, but it is my chart ruler and in my 8th house, and the only unpleasant aspect it makes is a square against my moon, otherwise your description for the water Mercury fits my thought processes to a T.

I think it depends on which aspects you have to mercury. I have mercury in gemini but square pluto. I am very much attracted to phychological conversations, the ones you are describing as to figure out peoples motivations, etc. I would not shy away of these conversations and I enjoy them a lot. I think that sometimes is too much for some people, actually. it may be the conjunction of my moon to mercury, both in gemini squaring pluto or my stellium in cancer, but phychological conversations are definitely one of my favorites. I could agree with the fact that airs mercuries like to talk about the news, politics, etc and getting and exchange any type of information. that is true as well. and I guess that when phychological things become too heavy for my aura to bear, i will switch easily to more lighter subjects. Mmmm…Well, I have Mercury in the 12th and my third house ruler in Scorpio (Uranus). I just love to psychoanalyze others and among my favorite topics are astrology (of course), and the paranormal, psychic abilities, emotional undercurrents, and relationships. The co-ruler of my third house cusp is in Virgo (Saturn) and I also love learning about health related topics, especially alternative health (Aqua on 3rd house cusp). I’ve found Mercury in the 12th makes me a daydreamer… I’m always drifting off into some mental fantasy, and I have a very rich imagination and often think in pictures… like playing a movie in my head… The actual sign of Mercury is Sag, so I’m also very interested in distant exotic places, foreign cultures, and ways of life totally different from my own. Mercury in Sag also looks for the big picture or overall pattern to things much like Pisces, and I relate very much to that holistic way of thinking… I hate when teachers only feed you details in a step by step way, I want the whole thing all at once!

Mercury in Pisces in the 9th. I have some grand tribes and a couple sites, and I can't remember off the top of my head if Mercury is involved with those or not. The text age is complicated for me, because I'm so much better at non verbal communication with people than by words only. Probably because I'm better at "seeing" people than hearing them.IP: Logged |

Betty Boop I couldn't agree more. I love talking about humans: people in general and all things emotional/psychological. I can't stand superficial/trivial stuff in my conversations. IP: Logged |

1st house scorpio mercury conjunct pluto, i have tremendous focus on whatever intrigues and i am always searching for the bottomline in dialogues. its like a human radar in my mind that goes off and says to me"liar", and then i go deeper and ask questions. I know i could make a good detective b/c im always searching, silently though. im very private with my conversations too, fire mercurys hate that lolIP: Logged |

My ex gf has mercury in pisces. She seems spacey to me, not sure if that is mecury pisces or something else. Also, she is a March 21 aries/pisces cusp. She tends to say she is an ARIES! but I see a lot more of the pisces part of the cusp, personally. Not sure of her time, but merc might be opp. her asc. IP: Logged |

HiyaMercury in Scorpio here... I love psycho-analyzing people. When we first meet I tend to ask many questions, people don't tend to realise that I am though. ------------------ Where possible, give people a piece of your heart, not a piece of your mind. IP: Logged |
