Are you saying people with 8th house moons have problems with their mothers and sexuality related to the mother.
What does popularity have to do with it  ------------------

Benedict Moon pointed to common interpretations where it's said that if one has Scorpio Moon,one has issues with mom;
I partially disagreed for most interpretations r very positive,because of that astropopularity I encounter- eg Venus In Scorpio -passionate,magnetic... Same goes for Scorpio Sun,Moon,Mercury. It is loved sign. And therefore idolised.
My experiences,combined with theory,naturally,have showed me that flaws regarding this lunar position lead to mother. It doesn't have to be problematic,but emotional development it is tightly affected by mother figure. I associated it with weakness of Moon in Scorpio; I know not every child builds their sexual identity through comparison/connection etc with mom,but with ScorpioMoon there is always that situation - 'I want them to look at me/treat me in the way they look at/treat my mother' (here I have young girls in mind,and forementioned sentence doesn't have to be concious) With boys is different,of course,when they start percieving mother's sexuality; And these r good examples...

OK For me, I,as a female,had a terrible time with my mother regarding my sexuality.
It is a miracle I am this picture of mental health you see before you So,Perhaps both sex's have problems with the mother and sexuality.
I would like people to weigh in. OK--what does popularity have to do with it,if anything? What were you saying about popularity? ------------------

You're right Ami, my Moon is suprisingly the most well-aspected planet in my chart (when you consider my heavily afflicted mars). Its conjunct Lilith, trined Neptune, and sextiled by pluto. IP: Logged |

Hello! It may be a little late to contribute, nevertheless...I have both my Moon and my Sun in the 8th house. They are conjunct in the sign of Cancer and oppose my Sat, Uranus, and Nep which are all conjunct in the 1st house in the sign of Capricorn. I also have Mars and Venus in the 8th house conjunct in the sign of Leo So, my whole life IS the 8th house! I have Cancer on the cusp of the 8th as well... My mother and I are extremely close. She is a double Aries but we get along very well. It has always been us against the world. It was my father figures that led to my 8th house hang ups: I have a mental disorder. I was abused sexually and emotionally. I live a hand-to-mouth existence but there is a lot of money in the family and I have already at the age of 21 inherited a great deal of money through my mother's side of the family. My mother has several serious health issues and I worry about her early death. I too have always suffered from long, lingering, miserable illnesses and severe migraines. Interesting note: I have endometriosis which is a disease concerning the womb and reproductive organs. I hope to have children but I may not be able to I am consumed by passion. Sex, death, and all things the occult are my motivators. I have had profound and scary experiences with sex, death, and the occult but I have also had the most tremulous and beautiful experiences of my life in these same areas. I crave excitement but am very cautious. I am sexually very liberal but extremely selective about my partners and would rather go without sex or romance if it doesn't "feel right"...Sex must be profound, somehow. I am an empath but I have not figured out how to control it yet. I have many psychic and paranormal experiences. I have an enormously strong will. Emotionally I am extremely strong willed and volatile. I have worked very hard to learn how to choose my battles. My life has been arranged exactly how I want it and I am in control of my destiny. I find with my emotions that thoughts really are things. If I mind, it definitely matters! I am sooo sensitive to hurt and rejection and criticism. I am my own worst enemy and expect perfection from myself constantly. I am a bit of a rebel...a bit bizarre. I am actually very much a Uranus personality. My biggest strength is my highly-developed sense of perception. I see things before other people usually do and am an excellent mediator and emotional "translator". Psychology is my career of choice for this reason. I feel things very deeply. Every moment seems to overwhelm me at times with the intensity of information I pick up from mere visual contact. But this could be cuz I was born when the moon was void-of-course. Does that help at all? I hope so! I too don't mind if you ask questions..I welcome it! Love and Light,

Wow, thanks for everyone sharing! I started this post because my boyfriend is a 8th house Libra Moon, and he seems far more like a Scorpio Moon. He is prone to TMI(too much information), and it weirds me out sometimes... Like, really, I didn't need to know that... IP: Logged |

What do you mean by TMI exactly anyway? I ask because it could be that the strong Mercury and Jupiter conjunct in Gemini in my 7th house could make me overly...forthcoming.Actually, come to think of it, they say that Scorpio moon people tend to hide their feelings emotional reactions from others and even sometimes from themselves.. 8th h moon in cappy here, very deep and intuitive, can easily see through and "read" others, sex and emotion is tied together, poignant connection with death, sometimes morbid, signifigant connections with women or a woman, sometimes money or inheritance through a woman(mother?),sometimes paranoidIP: Logged |

Also, I do happen to agree with the "mother issues", my moon in 8th, my sisters in scorpio-our mother was very emotionall disturbd and abusive, she says she didn't want us and we ruined her life, my sister remembers her being worse than me and is still very resentful, while I just dealt with it and don't really care anymore-so maybe this is the difference between a scorp moon and an 8th h(cappy).IP: Logged |

Been thinking about 8th house moon now that I have been coming out of my depression.
I think it confers several things on you.I have a Cancer moon .Love is deep.I have never been able to have flings.
For me to be in a romantic relationship , he had to tell me he loved me and mean it lol
I think the 8th house moon is an inherently deep person cuz they see in to the depths of themselves and others------------------

If you do an activity, that activity will turn in to something deep.
I am learning to sing.
I want to bring 8th house emotions to the surface and share them through music.
You can never escape an 8th house moon or 8th house planets.I have Sun,Moon and Mercury.
I think the key is to revel in who you are.
I am just starting to appreciate my unique traits and to not want to be like someone else.
This IS the 8th house--finding out who you are .------------------

i've got a sun, moon, and mercury all in taurus in the eighth house. My pluto and lilith are in scorpio as well. I've always felt more intense and less even keel emotionally than a "normal" Taurus, and consider myself more of an intellectual. I am a student of life and love to research anything abstract that i don't understand.
But with all those positive traits i have found that the plutonian energy in my chart does add a lot of darkness to the inner portion of my personality. I'm very black/white and all/nothing, and i am prone to depression. I'm not quite sure what all of that eighth house business is supposed to mean, or what influence it is supposed to exert, but thats definitely how i feel it in my life. IP: Logged |

First off: Welcome!  Secondly, I'm glad that you posted this, as an earth moon in a water house, because I was wondering if I was the only one. I mean, I do feel essentially an earth moon (hyper body-aware, nature attuned, animals rock, etc, etc. ) but when it comes to the subject of moods and energy, I am waaay more intense and alot less stable than the typical Virgo Moon. I'm super image conscious and i love making money, I'm a hair stylist . I'm also really attached to my material possessions and i bask in things like soft blankets to find emotional comfort. So i think my earth moon is pretty on as well. But the way other people make me feel, or i guess the way i let people make me feel, is totally exaggerated. i'm constantly trying to unravel WHY someone does/says something instead of appreciating it, so on and so forth. I would say the eighth house moon adds a lot of depth to my thinking. I can never take anything at face value personally.IP: Logged |
