Thank you for the welcome I already love this. There are so many things that i can't find reputable information on that are a mystery to me. This has been a huge help for me as an amateur astrologer.

Secondly I have to say that my earth moon is right on. I become deeply attached to my material possessions, and find solace in my comfortable bed when i am too lazy to riddle things out by thought process. Physicality comforts me emotionally. I love form and function and i love making money because it gives me a sense of self worth through creating something, I'm a hair stylist and an artist.
But i find myself, i guess by way of eighth house, letting things others say or do affect me, to almost a silly extent, because i am constantly trying to figure out WHY something was done/said instead of enjoying or analyzing it subjectively. I wish i could be more detached, I can never take anything for face value, then by contemplating the motivations of others i become infuriated, too emotionally involved. Then its like my Taurus moon smacks me in the face and shames me into feeling stupid about it haha. I keep everything inside, and on the surface it looks common and dull, but its churning just beneath that.

No worries, elaborations are always fun to read. I have to say I can relate to much of what you're saying though. Yes to material attachment (can't seem to get away from that), yes to the physicality and comfort on a lazy day--->>guess thats why I'm partial to Taurean men, and financial self-sufficiency rocks my socks. However, in the 8th house...there's little emotional stability for my moon. It definitely adds depth to the analytical bent of my Virgo, for good and bad. Quite frankly, the perceptive quality makes me paranoid as f---....and very reactive.

I have an 8th house Moon...during childhood i was deeply attached to my mother...

Also i have interest in sex...sex is a way for me to express my emotions in love....

i love physical and emotional intimacy in relationships

i have been very intuitive about sex...by the age of 10 I knew about sex ,not the exact technique but its motives and consequences......and my country is too evasive in discussing such matters....

i love t.v. series and movies related to crime detection .....

at the same time I am very sensitive regarding the issues of death....

may be these are the influence of my 8th house moon..

They're softies, HAHA. I feel like they don't let it get in the way of their ambition though, which I like. Then again the one I'm referring to has a Venus in Pisces, like me, which is also conjunct my mars. So a lot of bumps in the road were smoothed out physically and his aloofness didn't really irk me because I require emotional distance too. :P

I have a Cap Rising myself, but with a Cancer stellium, so their always opposing something of mine and it shows. LOL

Mystic Medusa says we (and Scorp Moons) have a very potent energy field, affecting others around us for good or worse. When I read that, I'm thinking this is probably what explains others initial reactions to me.

If I'm not mistaken I think my Saturn Neptune and Uranus are all in Capricorn in the fourth. I was raised by two capricorns. My grandparents are incredible and I credit them with most of the personal and familial security i felt as a child. Their house is home to me. I'm not really sure what the fourth corresponds to but if it has anything to do with what area of your life that questions security Capricorn would make a lot if sense.

Benedick Moon: I don't mean to pick on you (because its very widespread) but I am so sick of the various interpretations in which anyone with an 8th house or Scorpio moon has had a terrible mother. It doesn't resonate with me at all, and its almost like passing the buck.

Hey dickwad moon,

What you're sick of doesn't mean it's untrue. You're just a sample size of one, and ha, passing the buck. You should learn to stop commenting on what you know nothing of. Off with your trap!

You can be grumpy, and I can find fault with garbage like you too if I actually cared.

You know what? Include me in that sample size, because my mother wasn't abusive/dominating/manipulative, either.

And I mean like, not even a little bit. My experience is so totally divorced from what everyone is saying here, and what I read in books like "Hades Moon" and "Healing Pluto Problems", that I just can't relate. At all.

So no, it isn't just Benedict Moon, and I appreciate the fact that they had the guts to come forward and just be honest about their experiences like "Hey, I have this placement and my mom was nothing like that."

I wonder if any issues involving the mother have more to do with the aspects made to the moon than its placement in any particular house.

Also the assumption that eighth house moons are in a perpetual state of misery always makes me want to go into the "Who Farted?" face too, because that's totally contrary to my experiences. It's more accurate to say that whatever emotion I feel, I feel it at an intense level. So when I'm happy, I'm EXTREMELY happy, when I'm mad I'm hyper-p155ed, that kinda thing. But no, it doesn't mean that you're in a chronic state of depression your entire life, at least in my experience.

For what it's worth - my eighth house moon conjuncts Pluto too at about a two degree orb, so I do know what I'm talking about.
