BeholdAstarte, I have Virgo Moon in the 5th too, and I know exactly what you mean. Modesty VS Pride, expressing or repressing.

I always vacillate between wanting to keep my emotions to myself or expressing them.

me too. add to that the libra positions and what you get is behaving in a way that is 1) confusable with being extremely moody and 2) sometimes strange even to yourself.
the chatty and the silent part is all within me, and i realised that BOTH come from the heart. neither is fake.

Yes I do, House Twelve. It is difficult to find solid ground to build practical ideas upon when the ground beneath me moves, disrupting the foundations I have built.

My emotions range from furious to despair, I desire to move forward but I am stuck doing repairs.

Something is always breaking or needing attention, distractions I could do without, Feels like detention.

Wow, thats like Virgo Moon thrown into the ocean! LOL

Seriously though, I would have to say that your piece there reminds me alot of my mercury-neptune opposition. That is just "distraction central" in almost every sense.

Its crazy when you have a moon that prefers simple reactions and interactions thrown into houses that defy logic, have no solid foundations or are just naturally magnamious (is that a word? Sorry, I just gonna throw out my typical English-ain't-my-first-language excuse), then you get a moon that's kind of lost and almost...schizo? LOL. I'm also including those of you 5th housers here.

Though I would bet Virgo Moon takes comfort in the solitude 12th house brings.

Can you say more about your Virgo Moon in 9th please? How does it blend with an expanding, philosophical, big-picture house? Particularly when the Virgo element is to refine, simplify, and discriminate? And, travel - do you desire travel? What about women and emotional relationships?

Want to hear more please!

i found this little interpretation about 5th house moon -"You express yourself through your feelings, which are very strong and vigorous.

You really love good times, and for entertainment you enjoy plays, stories and television programs that appeal to your emotions.

You don't make any pretense about your strong dislikes and likes. It is important to you to be honest about your emotions.

Sometimes, in a mood of joyous high spirits, you may take risks that are really quite foolish. Also you may sometimes get carried away by your feelings, which can be difficult for others to handle."

do any of you virgo moons relate to sensitivity?

Yes, I can relate to sensitivity. Do you mean being sensitive to criticism etc or do you mean being sensitive to other people's emotions? Or both?

jeeez guys I just said that to stop it from becoming the forums where it turns into one long bitching session about a former friend or lover with the attributes discussed. I kind of thought people would be able to see what I meant and not take it quite that literally.

Virgo likes to serve, To serve you must interact.

Solitude and Interaction are opposites.

You can make them work together using the same process a person does when he or she is rooting out the cause or reason behind conflicts in day to day life.

An argument will be sure to break out if the root problem is never addressed and dealt with.

If you can deal with it and make some working compromise progress can continue, but not until then.

Its been my experience so far.

To put it in metaphysical terms, some of you who study inner alchemy will understand what I mean when you take two opposites, combine them, something new is created.

I picked it up during my time studying Taoism.

http://taoism.about.com/od/internalalchemy/a/Alchemy.htm

Neidan

Definition: Neidan is the Taoist practice of Inner Alchemy. In Inner Alchemy practice, the human body becomes a laboratory, in which the energetic elixirs of refined Jing, Qi and Shen (the "Three Treasures") are cultivated and circulated. It is contrasted with Waidan - Outer or External Alchemy - in which herbal or mineral formulas are ingested by the practitioner. In Inner Alchemy, the body, mind and breath of the Taoist practitioner are used to bring about internal transformations.

Nourish Snow Mountain/Golden Urn: Our Energetic Root

The energetic center which in Tibetan Yoga is called Snow Mountain, and in Taoist practice is referred to as the Golden Urn, is one of the most important energetic “spaces” in the Inner Alchemy traditions. This "Golden Urn" center – located just in front of the tailbone – is also known, in Hindu Yogic traditions, as the home of Kundalini Shakti – the “serpent power” which lies dormant there at the base of the spine, until awakened by yogic practice. Golden Urn is an important energy-source for the kidneys, the brain and the "third eye" center.

*Kundalini "pops" up in my numerology charts as well.

*My mayan sign is Chic'Chan, The serpent.

Service yes, but for some reason I've always thought a Virgo Moon had some hermatic connotations. Or maybe its just me and my Tarot associations. =D

Well... the 9th house is confusing to me just a little. I'm not a very philosophical person, I don't think. I absolutely want to travel, but only to certain places. Some people who have wanderlust want to go anywhere and everywhere, but there are specific countries I'd like to see and others I have no desire to see at all.

And I've got issues going on in the emotional/relationship department and I'm not sure what is related to my Virgo moon and what is related to external forces -- so I don't know if I can go off too much on emotional relationships. I can say that I have tons of girlfriends (I'm gay, so that's more of a HAAAAAAY GIRLFRIEND) I'm very very veeeery picky when it comes to attraction. And about random little physical details, too. If someone's gnawed off their fingernails it's close to being a deal breaker, for example.

After speaking with a co-worker last night who has a sooky Cancer husband I've just realized that I'm probably the most unsentimental Crab ever. A complete anomaly. I wonder if its this moon placement? How about the rest of you? Do you not care about certain occasions unless there's true meaning behind them? Or do you have loads of sentiment for something that's lost meaning just because its there? My confession: I almost hate Christmas. It has little meaning to me anymore besides visiting a side of the family I really don't want to see and eating food I really don't want to eat (I really hate ham and most other pig products). And don't even get me started on Valentine's Day...

Speaking of food...what do you guys *have* to have in a meal, and what could just be tossed out? Me, I need rice or some other starch to replace it if there is no rice, however that could be a product of my cultural upbringing. Leafy vegetables are a must, and maybe some beans, fish, or chicken. I'm not a real huge meat eater, I could go without. Whereas my Gemini Moon sis goes CRAZY if she has to go without meat for a day, but she doesn't care much for rice.

9th house is not just physical travel. It is spiritual , religious and philosophical thought.
I think Astrology is ruled by the 9th house.
So, if you are a person who wants to know the "whys" of this life ,then you are a 9th house person.

I'm the same, I think. Not into the mushy stuff. Christmas is only entertaining because my family is nuts.

I'm honestly more interested in the whys of myself. I'd rather try to figure myself out before I tackle trying to figure out the universe.

And add the commercial aspect + your ungrateful half/step siblings who only care about what presents you get them, and you're wanting to pull your hair out! ARRRGH. If I'm working this Christmas, I'll tell you right now I'm not getting out of it because paying my loans off is plenty more important to me than going through that debacle for a 22304298th year in a row. Besides, mom's got a new house so she'll be able to host her own Christmas dinners again...with REAL food.

*edit* I have to say I love alot of things 9th house related, to the point where I thought maybe my birthtime was wrong and I was actually a 9th house Moon. But then they say that houses are empty not because you have difficulty with them, but becasue you've already mastered them before. I have to say I do have this "been there, done that, would maybe like to experience it again" feeling about that house so its probably apt that mine is empty. Though its got to be a wicked placement for the moon to be in.

This makes sense, sort of getting a feel.. Figuring out in a philosophical pondering kind of 9th house way about your own emotional moon self.

Can you continue further?

I think it might have something to do with having 3 personal planets in the 7th house opposite Neptune in the 1st. I think I project my Sun, Mars and perhaps a bit of Mercury without really having a clear understanding of how they are a part of me. So, knowing that, I'm constantly working to try and really understand myself, first and foremost, and perhaps it occurs in a philosophical 9th house kind of way.

I LOVE VIRGO MOONS! I have a Pisces Sun, several asteroids in Gemini, and Mercury in my Midheaven. Because of this, I love to help others communicate and have a knack for empathy. Sometimes, Virgo moons have problems saying exactly how they feel. : ) That's okay, though. I can tell without you having to actually say it. Virgo moons are SO helpful. They always PHYSICALLY show their feelings and, if you're sensitive and pay close attention, you can tell how they feel. They're sweet and I LOVE them all!
