If any house ruler's planet is in the first house,it becomes part of your mask.
We all have a mask so fess up people  I will start.I have the ruler of the 3rd house ,Saturn, in the first house.
Part of my mask/way to get social acceptance/way to present myself to the world is by being 3rd house like.
This is a friendly and chatty person.

However,the mask is not the real person,underneath.
The mask is the car you drive.When you get out, that is you.
You leave the car behind .You only use it as a means to navigate through the world.
It is not part of the essential you.

This would apply only to people who have planets in the 1st house.------------------

interesting theory!which of mine applies (still not fully awake yet)?: i have venus in the first so do i look to PLUTO (in liba) and CHIRON and MOON (in taurus) or do i look to 2nd and 7th house cusps and their house's planets (sun/merc/mars and jupiter)? IP: Logged |

I have Pluto in the 1st, but it serves more as a means to cause others to remove their masks than as a mask for myself. I also have Uranus in the 1st. What's your interpretation?IP: Logged |

OK--if you have Venus in the 1st--which houses have Libra and Taurus on the cusps? ------------------

OK Randall Which house cusp has Scorpio on it?

oh i see..okay .. 5th (taurus) and 10th (libra, last degree). not quite sure what to make of that. fun and.. responsible? or we lookin to those areas of life as represented by the houses to see where we APPLY our 'masks' most? IP: Logged |

Ok This would mean that you appear to be very fun loving ,creative and romantic.

hmmm, interesting.well.. SUCCESS doesn't entirely appeal to me, at least in any conventional sense. however i really want to be a successful artist (venus on AC at an aries point); i mean its all i've wanted my entire life. but i guess who doesnt want to be successful in their carreers, or in general? but the traditional capricornian echelon-loving stuff isn't my cuppa. i do have high standards and principles and firmy believe in responsible behaviour as far as ethics go.. uhh but i'm also quite laissez faire at the same time! i am kinda reserved, almost snobbish in public (except with good friends) but i also have progressed cap rising (last couple degrees). fun loving. gotta say, the fun loving romantic side of me doesn't go away when i get home. if i could, i would goof off all day. if i didn't have a roommate i would be singing through my life like a musical. i love to be silly. Ami, there is something I always wondered about myself. i have the ruler of my 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th house all in my 1st house, while my chart ruler Jupiter is opposing a couple of them in the 7th house. i always felt that i don't have masks or different sides according to inside/outside or who i'm interact with. also i felt that i got sucked into others and had a vague sense of self, while i appeared to have had a very strong personality. in the recent years i am starting to learn it's just not easy to survive life with this attitude/trait. i think your theory explains that?
