OK, this is a sensitive topic, I know. But in the interests of research, is there anyone out there who does not have children and does not expect to ever have them?

Please could you give planets, houses and aspects that you think are relevant to this in Natal, and also indicate if your reasons are :

A - you simply are not interested in being a parent, never have been and never will be.

B - you secretly or openly would love to be a parent, but have sacrificed this desire in favour of pleasing a spouse/partner who does not want children.

C- you would love to have children, but have a biological problem which makes this very difficult to achieve.

D - you would love to have children, but just don't see yourself as ever being in a relationship of the type that would make that possible.

Please also give any synastry aspects that might be revealing - especially if you have chosen not to have children because your partner does not want them.

undecided.

what about E, i like the idea of having children but i'm terrified whether i will be good (i hear leo moons make bad fathers) and vice versa. also the added worry of having them in such uncertain times.

i have lilith in pisces on the 5th house. nothing else. iv a feeling they'll be spoiled brats and i will think they're angels LOL!

my partner already has children.

I was going to go for E - but I guess now we're at F lol..

F. Not sure if I can juggle children and work. I'd say it's my Capricorn Moon. Work is very important to me.

But I would like to have kids one day when I feel everything has fallen into place.. I'm not too pessimistic about it.

I heard something about Pluto in the 5th denying children or indicating a still born or miscarriage.
I do have this placement so I'm hoping it's an astro myth.

I'm not sure about Saturn in the 5th? I guess that could have similar interpretations ^

I lost my uterus (int.al.) due to cancer of the cervix when I was 31 years old (now 39).
I had two miscarriages at the age of 28/29.

I have an empty fifth house of which Saturn (in 10th) is the ruler.
Saturn is opposite Neptune (= ruler of 7th in 4th) and this opposition is making a grand cross with my Asc./Desc. axis.
And last but not least my MERCURY (= chart-ruler) is also part of it as it's RIGHT on my Ascendant.

If there are more questions, please ask.

deleted post. just realised that this is not really relevant to the actual 'childlessness' question by OP.

Yes, that. Dunno what aspects causes that, my 5th house is empty.. 5th house ruler is Uranus conjunct Sun and sextile AC & Mars. Venus is conj Saturn, trine Moon and Merc.

Yeah.. my friend has her 5th house ruler Pluto in the 5th conjuncting Venus. Her Saturn is right between the cusps of 5th and 6th house. Unfortunately.. one of her babies did die of SIDS. But she still managed to have 2 lovely, healthy children.

A. Gemini is on my 5th. Venus is (Gem, 5th) opposite Uranus (Sag, 11th) and Saturn (Sag, 10th/11th).

Just wondering if an afflicted moon could contribute to this decision not to have kids?

Also ready somewhere about a busy 5th house can signal lack of children. Something about 5th house people wanting to be indulged children themselves rather than having children to look after. Forget where I read it though.
Any experiences?

I don't really want kids. Its just not a priority for me, plus I don't ever want to be pregnant.

Moon and pluto in 5th, 5th in Libra, Venus in Pisces in the 10th square Saturn and Uranus. Moon opposite Jupiter, trine Chiron, Sun and Mercury (chart ruler).

Thanks for all this. Seems 5th house is important, and hard aspects from Moon to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. I am also wondering if Chiron/Moon aspects play a part when these aspects are present, as Moon is nurturing and Chiron represents a wound or debility or a missing piece? Hard aspects perhaps meaning a struggle with this and soft aspects meaning being at peace with this?

I read somewhere (apologies cannot remember where at this present moment) that an afflicted moon means lack of nurture therefore their own experiences being somewhat negative puts them off having children for various reasons.
I have to go now but interesting post, it is still a sensitive topic in these times but very important.

Ow that's so sweet... thanks

And yes my Chiron in the 8th,
quincunx Moon (2'45)
opposite Uranus (3'30)

Within an orb of 6* there's no soft aspect to Chiron.

It's hard to explain! I don't ever see myself having biological children, and I could definitely go my entire life without having kids, but I would willingly enter a relationship with a person if they already had children from a previous relationship and when things got deep enough, raise them as my own. That's the only sceneario I see myself in the future in terms of having children.

5th house Aquarius - Moon conjunct North Node, 5th house ruler(s) (Saturn/Uranus) in the 4th house.

Can I answer D? I don't think I'd mind children but I may be 1) a horrible parent and 2) unfit for a relationship that would facilitate that, and 3) pregnancy freaks me out. I mean, I want marriage but I can't even keep a boyfriend long enough.

Taurus is on the 5th house Cusp
Venus in Gemini, Unaspected/5th house
Jupiter in Taurus/5th house sextile Sun and Mars.

Won't be having children and 'D' is the best option. It's easy to make this choice as a man. Women are known for getting rid of their partner for some simple reason as 'he wasn't there for me' or 'emotionally abused me' which means they can scarper for no good reason at all, leaving the father to pay for a 'part-time' child that he never wanted to raise 'part-time'

The issue of children is in the control of women.

I won't be visiting this thread again, so please don't reply to me.

The 4th house is the house before child, therefore not wanting children. I have Taurus there, so maybe this can show financial reasons.

Taineberry - If it's a personal choice thing for women I'd say look at the Moon and for men their Sun. But jupiter + saturn may need a look too for peoples general beliefs around what constitutes family.

Afflictions won't deny or stop women from having children but there could be more difficulties in the child rearing phase. I've got a heavily afflicted moon in the 5th,{conjuncts chiron, opposes uranus, sesquiquadrates neptune, quinndecile pluto} it's also involved in a thors hammer with neptune and the mc. I've had 6 and they're all healthy. Only 1 problem pregnancy because she came early but was still fine.

With contacts to the outer planets...it may just be that the family set up isn't traditional which can create additional pressure.

The ages of everyone you're asking also needs to be taken into account. you'd probably get a better picture from those over 50 who stuck to their decisions. Obviously this doesn't apply to those who are denied through medical issues. I've known a lot who said no way during their 20's and then decided in their 30's to have them.

I just never found the right woman I would have liked to have kids with.

& at age 42 now I feel too old to want them.

Gemini in my Fifth House - The indications for children are not strong, and his family is usually very small.

Although I do love children and get along with them really well.
