Synastry is tricky. I honestly cannot look at synastry charts objectively until A. the relationship ends or B. the relationship gets serious - like moving in together. But my current relationship has many "bonding" aspects - however our relationship has not gone smoothly in the past - we broke up twice for short periods - but still. And now we live together and all the issues that we had in the past seem to have evaporated.
So my point is you can have good synastry with someone but if you want a relationship you still have to work at it. There will be rough and rocky patches no matter how perfect the synastry is.
I just want to briefly summarize the major aspects/ placements with my boyfriend just to give examples:
Sun square Sun (3 orb) - not considered a positive aspect, but it indicates growth, we came together to learn something - even if it is rocky and awkward at times.
Sun trine Venus (exact)
My Natal Sun opposite his Jupiter which is also conjunct his ASC so natal Sun is widely conjunct DESC and his DESC is in Leo.
Moon sextile Sun (exact)
Moon opposite Mars (exact) - His Moon happens to also conjunct my MC.
Moon square Mars (exact)
Venus conjunct Mars (exact) - My natal Mars happens to also be conjunct the IC - so his Venus is conjunct the IC - this is a great aspect for cohabitation.
Mars conjunct Jupiter - Jupiter is my chart ruler
Uranus conjunct ASC (3 orb) - this is considered a unstable aspect - but his ASC is in Aquarius so it just reflects that we both are equally want to be in this partnership - drama free.
ASC sextile ASC (1 orb) - Ascendant compatibility is often overlooked in synastry. But I think its important far more than Sun - Sun compatibility.
Okay and that is the highlights of my synastry with my live - in boyfriend who would do anything for me.
