I am starting to sense what Merc Retro is. Info does not go in in the normal way.It has it's own path,often.
For me,I notice it with learning movements of any kind such as dance movements.
It takes me forever and I can NOT do mirror images.
The person has to be in front of me so I can copy with their back to me so I do not have to translate mirror images.I was in a dance group.You can imagine how hard it was for me to learn.The teacher finally let me come to her home and taught me privately  ------------------

Ok, I will let you know.Someone of a pretty recent past just re-entered my life a bit deeper and we made plans for the future (about 'how' to spend some time together).
This guy has a DIRECT Aqua-Mars almost exact conjunct my RETRO Aqua-Mars. Recently he admitted he envies me and I was really surprised to hear that (another friend of mine once told me he did but I couldn't believe it then, and now it came out of his own mouth.. ) so I said to him.. really? why?... he said; well, your experience, you do whatever you want while I can't.. (related to what's said before here; outside expectations etc.) If it's important, my NN is conjunct my R-Mars (within a year or something my progressed Mars will turn direct)
And.. his natal Venus/Mercury = Retro (in progression already direct). And.. his Sun is challenging my R-Mars in a close square-aspect. And my Sun is challenging his R-Venus in a close square-aspect. It's like I can feel it.. BUT.. I will not speak before it's really my turn and if we reach the annoying phase when deeper connected I'll let you know. Btw; in my most serious relationships my R-Mars was always in a close conjunction to a direct planet (not Mars) of the other. IP: Logged |

Thank you for this very interesting thread. I was very surprised to find that I do not have one single chart out of the hundreds in my computer with a mars retrograde. And I found it interesting reading your posts how many mars retrograde you all know.
Do you have any idea what makes us attract retrograde mars? I confess as I never had to deal with it, I never really thought about it. Nor do I really understand what it means. Strange ways of acting? Special sexuality? No direct focused action?
Could it also stand for a family theme?
What do you think?

Thanks Mir for sharing that. It's good to hear about Rx from other people who have them that are into astro. I agree it may be hard to pinpoint the energy when there are so many factors involved in one chart. Anyway, what you wrote made me think of Ami with her Rx Merc.. Ami,
you know those threads you have where it's just you and you need to get those thoughts out and you keep going even if no one responds, etc. Not judging here, I completely get it. But I see the Merc Rx there. A friend I went to school with (who was at the top of his class along with me and 2 other kids, we were in an advanced program together) he asked his parents to be home schooled because he felt a certain pressure of learning in a traditional environment. I don't know why, I thought he was brilliant and that's one of the reasons I fell in love with him, but there is something going on in their minds that no one is privy to (I'm saying from an outside perspective), something is wired differently and they have to seek their own way to feel at peace I think in that realm. well, not bad! but I'd rather go for Gene Hackman...
Pity, that I do not attract them into my life.... Maybe because I have sun/mars/uranus conjunct? Too straightforward myself?
But I confess, I still have not well understood what makes the difference between mars in detriment or fall and mars retrograde...
